1x1 Rp w/ Ai! (NVM THEY ALIVE)

Yeah man, they like to keep ya on your toes! ))

Hitashi was still incredibly confused, but he didn't want to make Arius feel bad for it. He smirked a little, trying to lighten the mood. "Yeah, I can see that, 'Arius'." He hesitated, realising something rather important. "Tell me though, is that even your name?" He asked, sounding genuinely curious. Hitashi had never before heard of house Messores, so he wasn't sure if Arius was actually this man's name.
Before coming here, he'd been incredibly nervous--Maybe even frightened, but now, all he could think about was the awkward man he'd met at the festival standing before him. "I wonder. . Is he really that shy, or was it just a part of his act?" He thought to himself as he awaited the other's response.

Understandable! I'll try to keep that in mind! Hope you had fun on your trip, and the most interesting thing that's happened to me recently is that I dyed my hair! =w= ))

He halfheartedly laughed, it dying down quickly. "It's not, my name is Grim." He answered. He used a lot of different aliases, not just to protect himself from others knowing of who he truly was but because it was safer for others not to know him either. A vast majority would panic upon meeting him, fearful for their lives and if his 'curse' would infect them. He was seen as death itself personified, people weren't fans of death.

Ooo what colour ? ))

Hitashi tried his best to associate the name with his face, but it would be difficult to do since he'd already gotten to know him as Arius. "Well, regardless of what your name is, I'm still gonna call you Arius by mistake. That much I can promise you." He laughed, no longer feeling timid around him. He'd never met a noble before, and part of him was fearful of being so outgoing with one, but the other half of him knew that Ariu- Grim wouldn't look down on him for it. He couldn't help but feel a bit more careless around Grim, having known him before now. He still wondered whether or not this was his true personality. Then again, maybe it was best not to know.

Red/Ginger! Also, I laughed out loud at that 'not fans of death' comment- I think I just woke my roommate .-. ))

Grim saw no issue with his name being mistaken, those who didn't like him knew him as Grim. It was a name with bad associations nowadays, but it was one he wasn't ashamed of. Those who had named him were no longer around and he was blamed for it.
"Why was your presence here request again? The reason has slipped my mind." His demeanour returned to a more sturdy one, faintly radiating an air of authority. He didn't have to be intimidating around Hitashi, but it was natural professionalism.

Hitashi wasn't at all surprised that Grim's manner had changed, but it was odd to him nevertheless. He pulled out the slip of paper again, not handing it to Grim. He knew the man wouldn't take it anyways.
"Your staff came to my home requesting a woodworker. They said they were constructing a pavilion? I'm assuming it's to liven the place up." He joked with that last part, but quickly caught his disrespect. "I-I apologize. I meant no disrespect." He muttered, disliking how formal he was being. Then again, it was probably best that they remain formal. After all, they were only acquaintances from the festival, nothing more.

"I take no offence, you speak the truth after all." Grim replied, turning to pick up a pair of black gloves from the desk nearby. Pulling the fabric onto his hands, it stopped at the middle of his forearm. He had many pairs just in case one was to go missing or get damaged. He knew how to repair them himself.
"This is news to me, I don't quite understand their reasoning behind the gesture. Shall I show you where it is?" The black haired man continued. He had no need or use for the current pavilion, it was in such a state of disarray. He avoided even going to the garden due to its bitter reminder that anything that came near him would meet its or their demise.

The staff had described the state of the pavilion on the way here, and Hitashi had grown rather curious. He'd been told that he was to construct a new pavilion in an alternate location so that Grim wouldn't have to be reminded of the old garden, but Hitashi had been wondering if he could simply revive the old one. After all, the architecture he'd seen so far had been absolutely brilliant, so why replace it?
He gave a small nod, finally realising what the gloves were for. He'd noticed them on the night of the festival too, but hadn't wanted to say anything. Those thoughts were quickly pushed away though. This was not the same man he'd met that night. That much had been made crystal clear to him. It would be best for them to remain formal, as they had been before, so Hitashi resumed looking at the ground with his hands behind his back.

At Hitashi's nod, he walked past him towards the same door he'd entered from moments earlier. He gently opened one of the two doors with a strong pull and like rats some of his staff scrambled away from eavesdropping. It'd surprised him but there was no point in going after any of them for a lecture on the importance of privacy.
Grim looked back to the other and watched him curiously, wondering what was going on in his head. He still saw him as the same man he'd danced with at the festival, fun and welcoming. He found himself not knowing how exactly to act again.

Hitashi was too lost in thought to notice the other staring at him, but he was pulled back to reality when they began walking. Hitashi had been compared to a child many times in his life, mostly because of his mannerisms. As they walked, he admired the architecture and carvings on the walls. He had no idea how old the building was, but he'd never seen this style anywhere else.
They eventually came up on a set of rusted glass doors leading to the pavilion. Hitashi stayed silent as the doors were pulled open, not wanting to say anything else that might come off as disrespectful. When he stepped outside, he immediately realised why the staff had hired him. The area was in utter disarray, and there was hardly anything living in the place. Hell, even the grass had died off.
"You know. . All it really needs is some proper care." He muttered, more to himself than to Grim. "These designs are beautiful, so why would you want to replace them.?" He paused, coming up with an idea. "Forgive me for speaking out of turn, but I recommend that you try to revive the garden rather than simply replacing it. If you trimmed back the bushes and replaced the diseased plants, then things would begin to regulate themselves again." Hitashi explained, seeming to know a bit more about the subject than he let on.

Wait- for the future whenever the romance portion of the rp starts, is LGBTQ+ frowned upon? This is set as semi-modern and medieval, so I wasn't quite sure .-. ))

Grim could barely keep his overwhelming red eyes on the devastated area, glancing away delicately. He'd had happy memories in this place, now turned sour as time went on by. Maybe in another life him and his close companions would have tea together while chatting away about idle matters, with little care or concern about anything. Age was something that hardened a person, causing changes that'll make others drift away or closer.
When he looked back to Hitashi as he spoke, he was quiet and listened despite having already tried what he was suggesting. When the plants started dying, he fought with the decay, it spread faster than he could work. Not even hired help could stop the vegetation from avoiding the landscape around his estate. He'd abandoned the garden to build a new one elsewhere, but all the locations picked out eventually met the same fate. He'd visited those places after leaving them alone, none of them every fully recovered. It was an oddity, nothing wanted to grow when associated with Grim.
"You may try, I have no use for this space." He told Hitashi, giving him permission to do whatever he saw fit.

It's accepted and very normal, everyone is just kind of anti-Grim club because they believe he brings death))
