Grim road into the bustling town on a grey dapple horse, a single guard who'd insisted on following him. Their appearances were nothing fancy, aiming to look like two simple travellers just visiting for the festival. The town square had been decorated with colours honouring the sun and harvest, it caught his attention and intrigued the black haired man. There seemed to be a lot going on and look at.
His sister, Natsia, had nearly jumped off the horse when they arrived. While she was off enjoying the festivities, he had been talking with a few other men from the village. Then, music started up. Everyone began dancing, but he wasn't one to do such things. His only goal was to make it through to the end of the festival so he could take Natsia home.
While Grim dismounted his horse to get a closer all at what was going on, his guard escorted the horses to tie up safely. Despite all the people making Grim nervous, he enjoyed the lively music and dancing. He didn't know how to dance with a partner, physical contact with other people was something he avoided like the plague. His tall figure kept to the sidelines, stalking the edges of the crowd like a predator.
Hitashi had just gotten some chicken skewers for he and Natsia when he noticed she was nowhere to be seen. He assumed she'd gone off to dance again, and set the bag of food down on a crate next to him. He was off on the sidelines, avoiding the crowd. He didn't really have the energy to be social today, but all that changed when he got his hands on a pint of barley water(beer). He and his friends had been drinking for a short while, and he decided to go and join in on the festivities. He was about to go and dance with a friend when he noticed a tall male figure standing on the sidelines. He approached him and held out his hand.
"Come on, everyone's enjoying the festivities- You should join us!" He smiled warmly as he spoke.
He was surprised to be acknowledged, trying to blend in when he stood out just by his presence alone. His red eyes looked to the strangers hand, offered with a warm smile that he was hesitant to take. A pair of gloves were usually worn on Grim's hands to avoid such direct contact. Maybe it was the atmosphere but he took the other's hand with a gentle grip, as if afraid it would turn to ash and dust under his touch.
He led them into the crowd as the music played. It was clear this man didn't know how to dance, and he tried his best not to laugh. He grinned as he helped him figure out what to do with his arms. He noticed he was wearing gloves, but he didn't say anything. They danced for two or so songs when he finally decided to take a rest.
"Hey, I'm gonna go sit down for a bit, feel free to stay here or join me." He offered as they spaced out a little.
He turned and walked back over to where he'd set down his food and sat down. He leaned up against the crate and sighed, his exhaustion finally catching up with him.
Grim was fumbled and getting red in the cheeks, but he was enjoying himself. He had to pull the lower fabric of his dark cloak so it didn't get caught under any feet a few times. He looked like how the people would describe him, a bringer of death. It was a stark contrast to the vibrant surroundings of the festival but no one was looking to him thankfully. Grim's guard had been shocked to see the outcasted and feared royal learning to dance with a commoner.
The black haired man nodded, deciding to follow the stranger as he caught his breath.
He watched as the black haired man came and stood next to him. He seemed fairly awkward, which Hitashi thought was amusing. He was tired, so he stood up to avoid falling asleep. He opened up the bag of skewers and offered one to the man, still smiling.
"Ah, thank you." Grim quietly spoke, the music and chattering of the festival drowning him out. He took the skewer, returning the smile sheepishly. He moved closer to the stranger so he didn't have to raise his voice too much in order for him to hear. "What's your name?" He asked.
He looked up at him to make eye contact, and noticed his eyes as he did so. They were bright red, which was a colour one did not often see among commoners. He smiled a bit at the man's awkward nature before responding. "Hitashi Seia" He started, "And you.?"
