[Custom Decor] Custom Decor System Needs Reform

@Bobcat 🎄🎁

My best guess, as a custom decorist and an artist, is some people want the art on the actual wolf, not have just a drawing of them :).  This is the case for me personally.  I've currently been knee deep in custom decors because I've been wanting to see all my art on my wolves in game, having art of that just doesn't hit the right spot sometimes.  Art, although does have it's own magical touch to a beloved wolf, is not actually on the wolf.  It's a part of it, but some people may want the "physical" aspect CD has on a wolf :).

This is all just my opinion, may be a different story for others!

You misinterpreted.
Look at my lead wolf, I love CD art.

I'm speaking from a CD artist perspective. I can see why barely any artists want to do CD when it's easier and hassle free to just do art comms instead.

Yea, Bobcat's point was that people who would otherwise do CD art are less inclined to do so due to the rejection/acceptance process being a goddamn nightmare 🤣

Apologies, the way it was worded for me made me read it in another light.  Either way, my comment was just an innocent observation from another side (even if that other side wasn't actually what was being talked about lol).  I do agree with what was actually meant though, yes.  Art commission are 100% easier and pain free compared to going through the acceptance hell that is custom decor.  Believe me, I've been there, I AM there lol.

You're good ! I'm not the best at wording stuff. I liked your point you made though. Custom decor artwork is so beautiful, just wish it was hassle free for all involved.

P.S Goodluck on your custom decor !

I'd just like to give a little update as someone who is still actively creating custom decors (up to about 90 approved decors now). Speed has increased quite a bit lately which is great, and I personally have had no problems recently. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for others.

The complete and utter lack of consistency is still screaming to be fixed. There are some custom decor artists whose decors need a lot of work to get up to standard (at least in my opinion), and yet their decors get approved first try, despite clear errors, pixelation, messiness, not adhering to the Wolvden style, etc. Meanwhile I have reviewed the work of other CD artists that I thought should've been above and beyond Wolvden's expectations, and their decors are faced with relentless rejection.

I don't know what's going on but it doesn't make any sense and it's really hurting a lot of people. Not only is it hurting the artists who are being faced with relentless rejection; it's also hurting the artists whose work is not being corrected or critiqued, thus giving them no chance to grow and improve. Criticism is essential for growth so I see this situation as a lose-lose.

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to shame anyone as an artist -- we are all growing and learning as artists and it excites me to watch people improve over time I just really don't understand why stellar work is being rejected and nitpicked while work that needs a lot more rendering and polishing gets accepted with no issue.

Edit: Addendum after seeing Xylax reject the tiger stripes marking suggestion because it's "too complex." I fail to see how tiger stripes would be any more complex than Veneer, Ornate Waves, Stripes etc. If you can't draw tiger stripes then I don't see how you are qualified to be judging and critiquing hundreds of people's work.

The inconsistency of what gets approved and what doesn't remains, to this day, as the only consistent thing about the CD approval process.
Despite other CDs that got approved in this most recent wave having leaking color, faded lineart, and equal to worse pixelation issues themselves, mine got rejected once again for pixelation lmao
How many times will Xylax have to teach me this lesson before I realize that I will simply never get anything past him because its *me* making the art

Sincerely hoping that these glaring issues are addressed in upcoming updates.

I swear, Xylax has a vendetta against certain players. He needs to step down.
