He nodded as firmly as he could in understanding. If his heart could believe him or not was another story. He wasn't exactly worried about Hitashi lying, instead drawing too close to him. The closer they became, the more a betrayal or loss would hurt. It wasn't his first time in this rodeo. Hopefully one of them would be his last, his blackened heart was already struggling with every emotion he felt. Grim hurried off back to his office. // It was a little hard to become absorbed in his work, mind trying to come up with extra ways for Hitashi's family visit to go smoothly. Should he bring a body guard? Hadn't he considered that already? A lot of the staff kind of stood out, either having a presence that drew the attention of a crowd or were considered scary looking. In a more obvious way than himself. "Restless again, reaper?" Grim's muscles stiffened for a moment at the soft voice suddenly making itself known right across from his desk. He glanced up to see who it was. Zhangzi, the mercenary acts as if his ballsy nature is not unusual to lure people into a false sense of casualness. He's a fox, in both demeanour and looks. "Did I frighten you? You were very focused on your work and I didn't want to cause a ruckus." He feigns innocence but it doesn't work on Grim, they both know that. "State your business." The red eyed man sits up a little straighter as if he's face to face with a court member but without the fear or history. Zhangzi is just another creature that came from Xian, cut from the same cloth despite how different they may look they both smile in a similar sinister way. "The West is running out of food and the ports are refusing to assist or trade for such little. Sounds like a bountiful weekend for your staff, if they find out there's desperate coin to be made there." The mercenary tells Grim, lips upturning at the possibility of causing upsets in the manor. It was a form of entertainment for him. Grim's eyes casted back down to his paperwork, seemingly disinterested. "Make sure you say hello to your maker, or not. I know neither of you are fussed if anyone drops dead tomorrow." Zhangzi's eyes squint with joy. If it's real or not is debatable. "Just means more work for you." He coos. |

It took Hitashi a total of around five minutes to find his way to Grim's room, constantly getting distracted by the engravings on the walls. Although he'd been here for months now, he was still fascinated by it. As he approached the large wooden door, he thought he heard voices on the other side. "Oh shoot- I forgot that he's working. He's probably busy right now." He cursed silently, listening unintentionally to the voice. "Just means more work for you." It said, and that's when Hitashi recognized the voice. Just then, the door opened. Out walked Zhangzi, the utterly terrifying mercenary. Hitashi had run into him a few times, and it had never been very. . pleasant to interact with him. "Oh? I suppose you're here for the reaper, aren't you? Well, then- I wish you luck." He mused, a hint of amusement around the end of the sentence. "Gods, he's just like Xian." He shook his head slightly as he ignored the man and walked through the doors. "Hey, anyone home?" Hitashi asked, jokingly. He walked up to the desk and set one of the bowls down quietly, noticing that Grim was focusing. "Brought you some food- Figured you might be hungry." He spoke quietly, stepping back to give him some space. |

"Yes, thank you." Grim seemed a little tired, irritated, but the smell of food and the presence of a heartbeat in the room it brought him back to reality more. His eyes scanning the room around him in search for a clock. How much time had passed, was it a different day now? He didn't feel hungry but knew he had to eat. "Have you picked a time to leave?" He asked, it was the first question that came to mind. |

Hitashi stood leaned back against the wall, avoiding letting his bruises and the wall touch. Before he could answer Grim's question, he took a few bites from his own bowl. "Not yet." He paused as he remembered something. ". . But it's my sister's birthday in three days, and I think I'd like to be there to surprise her. I-If that works for you, that is!" He added that last part cautiously. He had always been somewhat awkward when it came to expressing his wants and desires, and it was clear that Grim was no exception to this. He hated the idea of inconveniencing anyone, so he was constantly walking on eggshells to avoid it. "Before we talk about that, though, eat something?" He asked, still sounding tense. "You've been in here for hours, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried." He shrugged, keeping his gaze fixed on the floor. EDIT- Ideas :> POSSIBLE ORDER OF EVENTS? 1. Journey to Aldonia 2. Meeting Hitashi's familyyyyy :3 3. A few days spent there, and thennnnnnnnnnn? 4. Go to the ball 5. Dance scene 6. ✨ THE KISSSSSSSSSSSSs ✨ Should Grim receive an invitation to the ball BEFORE, or AFTER we do the injuries thing? Everything between 3 and 4 is just grey area that we can either discuss, or decide to just wing it =w= |

"This isn't unusual, I've been out a lot more than usual though." he commented on his lack of days spent cooped up in his office. No distractions, focused on task after task, not even leaving the room. That had been the previous routine. He meekly pulled the bowl of food closer, eyeing the contents with no particular interest in it. An appetite had never really stuck with him. AFTER the injury thing. He'd decline the invite if he got it before that. Might just wing it, unless one of us gets brains worms (ideas) |

Part of me feels like we should actually do the injuries scene before they go to Aldonia, but the other part thinks that we should do it when they're already in Aldonia. AAAAAGH- My brain hates me. ALSO- I think it would be a good idea to have some mini-scenes during their time in Aldonia! :3 Heh- BraIn WOrMs •v• EDIT: Right before they leave for Aldonia, Grim could receive an invitation to the ball, and just tucks it in his back pocket or something. A week-ish after they get there, Grim finally brings it up with Hita? It's up to you how you wanna go about it- Complete creative freedom! ^^ The thing is, you want the injury thing to happen BEFORE he gets the invitation. In that case, we would need to do it within the next few days. I don't think it would work too well if we did it right before they left because then, Grim would probably tell them that they should hold off for a few days or smthn. SOOOO- This is a little out there, but what if we did that in THIS SCENE? Like- rn? :^ All of this is just suggestions! Feel free to reject or alter any! :3 |

He hadn't noticed, but he had been pressing his lower back to the wall while they had been talking. Because it had been such a slow motion, he hadn't really felt it, but that ended up creating problems when he pushed away from the wall. There was a sudden sharp pain in his lower back, and that's when he realised his mistake. It had been just over a week since their argument– A week since Grim had thrown him, and the results of it were still troubling him greatly. "Ngh-!" He grunted, dropping the wooden bowl. He ended up collapsing, landing on the ground with a thud. Fortunately for him, he managed to catch himself on his arms. He would have tried to convince himself to get back up immediately, but he couldn't focus with the severe pain that was threatening to make him pass out. Alr! Wasn't sure how to transition into that, so I just went with that. =w=" |

Grim's love language was likely quality time so he could relate to the want to be around someone likeable. Words of affirmation and physical touch were difficult to accept, not making him feel comfortable. The pained sound that came from the other made him jump to his feet in one quick movement, chair almost toppling over from the force. He'd been seemingly calm just moments earlier. "What is it, what's wrong?" He asked with little composure and moving around his desk to examine the man on the floor. Did I tell you that I saw the new Avatar movie ? |

He stayed there for a moment more before attempting to get up. Big mistake. It hurt like hell, and he nearly fell over again. Although he didn't make any further noise, his expression was a dead giveaway. Rather than choosing to make friends with the floor, he sat back down. "Say something. What the hell am I gonna explain this with? Gods, I'm stupid. Just get up. It's not that difficult." His thoughts ran rampant, yet he made no attempt to silence them, or to get up. He set the bowl down next to him and thought, trying to figure something out. "There's uh- There's brownies in the kitchen if you want some. Addie insisted that we make them." He fumbled over his words, trying to change the subject. He was doing everything in his power by this point to take the attention off of the fact that he had just nearly face-planted. Twice. "She made a bit of a mess with the cocoa powder, but I cleaned it up so that Diego wouldn't have her head." He smiled awkwardly. "He's uhm- He's an intimidating man, isn't he.?" HELLOOOOOO And no, you didn't! I just saw it a few days ago, AND OH MY GOD- OH- Did some research by the way, just to make sure this actually makes sense! Typical bruises take around three days to heal on their own, but more severe bruising can take a month or more. In my head, Hitashi's aren't quite THAT bad, so I was thinking two and a half-ish weeks for it to heal? That way it can be nearly healed around the end of their trip to Aldonia, and fully healed by the time of the ball! :3 Thoughts? I can adjust the time it takes depending on what we wanna do! ^-^ |
