Chased Wolf Chat

I agree with you, Antimony. There's nothing wrong with people using the chase feature as it was intended- a way to get rid of wolves you don't want. Moreover, even if there was something wrong with chasing boring wolves, griping over it wouldn't change anything.

Eh, I think let people blow off steam. It's frustrating, and if we don't talk about it, no one (staff included) will think it's a problem (not like, a game breaking problem, but it's still frustrating). I do think some people... really get a little too mad about it. But I mean, people can complain about losing repeatedly at slots, or a wolf throwing bad litters one after another. As long as they do it in a reasonable manner.

I'm just miffed there's a perfectly good solution on Lioden for perma-chasing, but I'm trying to be patient and hope they implement it here sooner than later.

I do wish people would stop dragging the wolf on the chased spotting thread and come here and provide some sort of constructive criticism on how the mechanic can be changed to lessen that. Nothing is gonna change (probably at all but) if you just throw a tantrum.

Edit: And I know the technical current solution is to just chase them again... but chased encounters are already pretty rare (RNG really... has a field day with this one... looking at the statistics it is NOT 100% random and has its ups and downs). Now my rare chased encounter was the equivalent to a regular encounter. Double whammy and naturally disheartening depending on how well you take luck-based failure.

I joined the Chased Wolf Spotting forum because I'm excited to see other's R&C being found, not to tolerate people complaining about the free wolves they find calling them trash because they're rechased, as if the current system wasn't intended for people to use it in that way first and foremost, and as an exploit as a secondary benefit.

Somebody even responded to a chaser, who had commented they had found one of their R&C, that they should have deleted/enclave the wolf instead because it was worthless. That was the last straw for me. People are free to complain if they so desire, but I'm not interested in getting the fun ruined by a few rude sore losers, and I just block them for my mental peace nowadays.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a mature discussion about what works and what doesn't about the current chasing system. I've already given my two cents here as well as bumping the game development threads regarding other deleting methods, but there isn't much else we can do at this point except for giving feedback in the proper forum threads.

Alex, you're right that people have a right to complain when they are annoyed. It's true that we all complain about things sometimes, like, "oh man my hunters missed a small prey with a 75% chance, come on, guys!" And I agree that there's nothing wrong with that. I suppose I just worry that it will hurt someone's feelings if they see that others are hating on a wolf they chased, but maybe that's not really very likely.

Hey Nei

Do you have a link to the development thread about alt deleting methods? I would like to comment on it

Yeah, that's me too on the Record thread. I want to see the records, not massively negative rants. Though, as others have said, people do get frustrated.

I understand we have passion toward chasing and hope that creativity can continue whilst we get moar options.

@Katie I'm tired of seeing people drag rechased/bad R&C too. I've gotten way more selective with R&C and stopped enclaving adopting altogether because people have started badmouthing even T1's in general.

I think it's fine to be mad about them and try to give voice to making a change, but don't hate on the players for using the only easy method to get rid of wolves the way they have to. (Don't hate on staff either of course lol).

Edit: I'm sure I've badmouthed rechased on the spotting thread, and really hope I didn't upset anyone who originally owned the wolf. I try to keep it to the usual "bad RNG roll, another rechased", there's NO need to call a wolf ugly or shitty or etc. I really appreciate people posting them/recording them so we can get a percentage of definite rechased vs R&C.

@Nei  Thanks for the links, I had no idea these topics existed. I pretty much forget the game dev folder exists.
