Reward for Chasing

Reward for Chasing

One of the biggest issues I've seen on this site is the fact that there are so many wolves being born, but such limited den sizes, which results in a really messed up economy for selling wolves.

One possible fix, inspired by Flight Rising, would be a small reward for chasing a wolf off. People don't want to chase wolves because they'll get nothing out of it; it's a waste. So they end up desperately selling their wolves for extremely low prices and tanking the wolf sale economy.

If there was a small reward for chasing a wolf - for example, something like 50sc 10sc - people would be more willing to chase a wolf out, both clearing up space in their own den, and helping to clean up the currently swamped economy. Additionally, it would sort of provide a minimum that people would sell for; why sell a wolf for less than 10sc when they can make that much off of chasing them out?

Additionally, this would give people more funds to spend on meat and toy items, as well as any other things, like decorations, they would want to buy, thus boosting the sales economy of the site even further.

What would this require? Not much. A little coding to make chasing a wolf trigger the reward, but no changes to art, server, or new features.

So, thoughts?

Edit: You're right, 50 sc is definitely high. I'd say something like maybe 5-10sc would work? Enough to make it worth doing, still act a bit of a limit as to not wanting to sell pups under that, and be enough to be a little helpful with the economy still.

I really like this idea. I had to chase like half of my den when I was a newbie, and it was horrible :,)

This is great especially since I’m a HUGE spender, and now I get to actually earn some extra money from unwanted NBW I don’t need anymore :)

I really would like to see this implemented, as it’s quite simple and doesn’t break any sort of code or whatever XD

:p

I like this idea!

I don't know how "small" of a reward 50SC is in comparison to the harder things you have to do to get SC(via the game itself, not the Trading Center) but it would be nice to be able to get at least some amount of a studding fee back through chasing if the pups are worthless within the player economy. (I know we aren't supposed to make a bunch of comparisons to Lioden, but as a side note I think this issue was slightly fixed by Karma Fodder over there? Sitter Fodder exists here but it's not quite the same because a pretty/high stat pup can do that job just as well as a marking-less pup can.)

The only issue I can see would be people placing no worth into the two wolves they were breeding to earn some SC, but I think you're sort of already spending that SC's worth by having the mother take up den space and food/amusement uses. I guess I'd recommend it being only for pups? That way people wouldn't be claiming wolves in Explore in order to chase them later for the SC without any drawbacks.

I also play Flight Rising, and I support this idea but I think 50 SC is way too high. 1-3 sc per pup would be more in line with the value of sc from explore encounters. If the reward is too high, people would be mass breeding just to chase pups to make money.

I like this idea but I also agree that 50SC as a reward is too much. I would like to see it perhaps give anywhere between 1-10 SC, or some nesting items or one small or medium carcass. Perhaps the reward given could be calculated based on the worth of the wolf. For example, any T1 bases might only get 1-3 SC or a rat carcass, and any T2 could get between 3-5 SC and a stoat carcass, etc etc going up along the line. Or maybe the worth can be calculated taking marking number into consideration too.

You're all right; tweaked it to 10sc

I absolutely agree!

I like the idea of it giving not just money but some carcasses and food

The economy is so unstable lol

Support!

Maybe the SC amount could be based on the number of markings?

So 10sc +1 additional sc per marking, or something similar?
