Vampire Romance BatDoesStuff&WolfClaw (Rp sheet)

Aster and Lazarus waited in the crowd for  her father to arrive, and he did a few minutes later. As per usual, he gave his speach, and then asked for Aster to come up. And she did. " My name is Aster. Princess to the King" She began " I am only here at the festival to find the rightful suitor. But these last hundred have failed or just gone wrong. But this one, I believe is different. I cannot say who this gentleman is, just yet. But I will yet show you him at the dance" She eyed Lazarus  and gave him and wink and a lovely smile that all men  turned to.  " Enjoy the festival." And with that she left the stage and headed to the park again waiting to see if Lazarus would come

Lazarus watched the king with unease, but then perked up as Aster started to speak for herself. It really confused him as to what she meant, it only clicking what was meant when he saw the wink from her. Shock was clear on his face for a couple of moments, but he then forced it down and tried to find some way to think that it could mean something else.

Surely she didn't actually mean him right? That just couldn't be it. Quickly, upon seeing the princess head towards the park, he quickly followed after. He had nearly tripped on his face from how nervous and uncertain he had felt about this. "I, uh, A-aster what was that about?" He questioned almost as soon as he saw her, quickly hurrying to try and catch up, just not knowing how to feel about this other then the pure shock that had filled his chest.

Aster stopped short of the bench " Lazarus.. please.. dont ask me anything. I dont know why I said what I said..  I thought I had something going and I just.. said it.. If you thought I meant you.. I.. I dont know. I know we just met" she turned to him slowly but walked backwards til she sat on the bench, her head in her hands " I made a fool of myself thinking I thought I would choose you... but like I said... we just met." she looked up at him " Do you still, want that dance in a bit?" Its ok if you say no." the fear in her voice was clear. And she knew that Lazarus would have to think about the offer. 

Lazarus kinda remained standing for a while, but only because it allowed him to fidget a bit and get rid of sone of the nerves clawing at his insides. Still, it wasn't really disinterest, but he just wasn't sure what it'd all mean.  Part of him wished he'd gone to the main part if these festivals before, just to wrap his head around it.

"I-I mean like is you h-have to choose a guy or something? Like is dancing like a binding contract I can't say I know what any of this means. I j-just usually come for books." He choked out the questions, kinda blocking out the 'don't ask me questions' part if her reply in the mist of his puzzlement. Was he even able to say no? Mainly he didn't because he still didn't directly mean to cause her fear and he felt a little bad, but he also felt like he should know a bit more.

" Yes... its a binding contract... but if I choose the wrong  suitor.. it will have been to late. Once we are bound.. its forever. and the only way to  start it over.. is if the other one died.. " she bit her lower lip " I might not choose a suitor.. just because of what i went through years ago... but father is demanding me me choose one this time. " Aster looked away just as the music started. But awhile later, she stood up " you are free to come if you want, but I dont want to stop you for the real reason you were here for, Lazarus. now if you excuse me.. I-I gotta go. " she touched his shoulder before running off back to the celebration. But refused to dance. She had to  clear her mind. But her father had to have a chat with her and it just  was a mess

" father.. I don't know.. I want to choose.. the dance is why I made it happen and hour later, just so I could decide ahead of time... "
"Well, you are wasting your time my dear. Choose now."

" Yes father. "

 She didn't even know that Lazarus was standing there listening

" I know who i want as a suitor" Aster said looking right at Lazarus. Then she moved her head to have him join her in the slow moving dance.

Lazarus bit down on his lip to be sure he could listen to the whole explanation before making any comments on it. Part of him was curious what she meant by what happened years ago, but he didn't have much time to question it with how there was a more pressing matter at hand and Aster already was standing up to leave. His dark gaze shifted to state at the shoulder where he was touched, and then he was sitting down, hands pressed to his thighs.

How in the world did he get to this and how was he supposed to react? No wonder his mother found the royal lines to be utterly confusing, but at the same time... Aster did say she would have to choose someone, and she seemed so worried about picking the wrong one. Why he was a good one, he had no clue, but it made him feel uneasy about just leaving. Plus, there was no promise he'd actually be left alone if he went home. 

Lazarus hesitated, but slowly stood and carefully made his way back to the celebration, mind buzzing with questions as to if this was the right decision or not. He didn't say much to Aster or her father with how nervous he felt, but he figured that this maybe wouldn't end up too horrible if he wanted to be optimistic.

"This doesn't mean I can really dance." He muttered in tense tone, hand shifting to awkwardly take Aster's, face looking reasonably disgruntled.

Aster took in a deep sigh before releasing. His touch was gentle and more kind than the rest. She kindle took it in hers before gently moving closer to him and put his one hand on her waist and her own hand on his shoulder " Dont worry, if you step on my feet, i wont step on yours. I wouldnt ever evn want to. " she chuckled before  moving along to the slow movement of the music along with the others around them " Look, Lazarus.   being a royal is hard work. but that doesn't mean I have to give them up just to be with you, or whoever I choose for that matter. I think my mother is doing this on her behalf. She knows you are the one, but I have to find that out myself. " She looked at him in the eyes and gave a little smile. 

Her father was watching and a little smile crept across his face " I knew you would find someone, Aster." he said walking to them. " After one more dance, you have to  do that one speech, but with him alongside you"

" Yes father. I understand the protocol" Aster said  before moving away form him with Lazarus. " It seems to me that my father likes you. "

Lazarus kinda let his hands be moved, as really the only dancing experience he had was with his mom many many years ago before she left with his sister to go elsewhere. If he was being honest, he could already hear the voice of her yelling at him that this is not going to end well, but he just figured that maybe somehow it could work out. Fate wasn't really something he believed in, but he supposed this also was way far off from the worst thing that could happen.

"Uh... I guess... I didn't exactly think that was what would happen..." He muttered, brow furrowing, though now that he did think about it he did kinda realize that this would change more than he thought. Anxiety started to creep up his spine at that, but he tried to force it down, as he already had nearly stepped on Aster's feet multiple times at that point.

Still, he did end up jumping a bit as he heard the voice of the king speaking up, actually stepping on her foot this time, to which he instantly apologized for. "Uh, well, yeah, I suppose that's better than him hating me..." Lazarus agreed quietly, though he knew he couldn't say the same for his mother, or even his sister possibly.

Aster chuckled as the first song came to a stop. " He does like you. I can tell. But his feelings about me being with you could be not what I  fear. You are a commoner and not from the town. I know that. But do I care that I marry a commoner? No. As long as I choose the right person, I will be ok. " And stepping on my feet just gets us knowing each other better, other than walking in the park. "

 She eyed her father  just as another song came up "  Since I told you my feelings about this whole ordeal... I want to know yours.. not just about me of course. " she placed his arm back on her waist and her hand on his shoulder and they danced  through the now nearly empty crowd. " And dont be alarmed  when people stare, its just for me to see what I do next. 

(OOOO I think I have an Idea, but he prolly wont like it... but its a risk ill take. ) 

Lazarus honestly didn't get why it should be such a big deal, though then again, his mother never raised him to think royalty was somehow untouchable or superior to them. They were just people that got lucky with where they were born, but he guessed that it maybe made sense to be worried, if they were too concerned with image even if Aster said that it wasn't the case for her.

"Uh..." He had been half concentrating on where exactly his feet were, but if he was being honest he didn't know how to exactly feel about this. It was just... extremely sudden and part of him still wasn't directly sure how or why he had agreed, other then it seeming to be a smart decision, or in his mind.

"... odd, I guess, I.. I don't know." He explained lightly, nose crinkling a bit as he tried to think of how else he could describe his feelings, "Let's just say I maybe have spent a tiny bit too much of my time without social interaction to be able to say exactly what is running through my head." Lazarus ended up going with, as somehow saying 'yeah my family probably won't like this but I mean I guess your pretty and can sing and seemed certain so I followed' didn't really seem to be like a sound explanation.
