Vampire Romance BatDoesStuff&WolfClaw (Rp sheet)

" Lazarus.. come on.. why refuse a princesses offer" she said clearly upset that someone turned her down for the hundredth time " Its a slow dance. I'm sure you can  keep your feet moving and not stumble" she eyed him, but didn't smile like before. Her feelings now hurt " Well.. I guess talking will do then before the event starts in a few hours" 

She got off the swing and walked alongside him, looking at her feet and not at him.

Lazarus honestly hadn't exactly meant it to hurt her feelings, hands more tightly wrapping around his chest with how he tried to think about would be a good response. He did at least walk next to her regardless, as not doing so likely would only make it worse when he is trying to avoid that.

"I... I-I mean, I just, it wouldn't be the first time I've tripped over completely nothing. Plus uh, c-crowds really aren't usually my sort if thing." He backpedalled, speaking a tad quickly, not really certain if that made it sound better or worse. He was just honestly thinking he'd probably end up somehow crushing someone's toes if he didn't trip, as there was probably a good bit that could go wrong.

"Look, Lazarus.. the only toes you would be stepping on, are mine." Aster said with a slight chuckle " Now please.. come to the dance with me tonight, I ca n show you how to  not  step on anyone's toes. I'm a born dancer, let alone a born singer. Thanks to my..my mother. " she said with a little stiffness at the memory of her. " I'm doing you a favor, Lazarus." she stopped and faced him. " I haven't had fun in years and never had anyone to teach anything ever since they..er.. my parents died and .. well.. i think they brought me to the book area and ..well..  I ..." she tried to say that they had found a perfect pair for her. But she didn't know what that meant " Look... just come to the dance, ok?" she said quickly before running off to help fix up something that one of the children broke down.

"She would be busy and not interrupted til the night of the celebration. 

Lazarus listened and came to a stop when she did, brow furrowing a bit as he didn't directly mean to possibly cause a more sad topic to bubble up, but it was interesting to hear. If he was one to believe in fate, he supposed that maybe her coming around the book area was something more then a coincidence. However, personally, he just wasn't entirely sure. "Uh... I mean..." He didn't manage to get himself to finish speaking, as by then Aster had moved to head off to go help someone, if he had to guess.

Aster definitely was a curious person to say the least, especially with how much she seemed to want him to come to the dance. He didn't know why she'd care whether he went or not, but really that's what made him kinda want to find out, even if he was never a fan of things like dances. Thinking of his own family, however, he knew that his younger sister would of probably hit him for even thinking of passing up this chance in favor of his 'lonely' lifestyle.

He for a while debated it, just walking around to get what books he had been meaning to. In the end, he decided to go, though he maybe had been conflicted a little too long as he had come back to the dance a little later then maybe expected. It only made him more nervous for how this would work out.

" Why is it always me fixing broken  decorations" she was argued with Grace and a few of the others that night " I'm a princess and I have more important-" but she paused what she was going to say when she spotted him.  "Lazarus... you are like...  an hour early... what you doing here so early? " she walked up to him " I hope you didn't hear that stupid argument.."

She had a  celebration  dress on for that night and it was absolutely stunning, but it was the only dress her mother gave her when Aster was coronated princess the night before her death.  As she was nervous being around Lazarus, she moved some loose hair behind her ear and looked at her feet.

Lazarus was technically wearing his fanciest clothes already, he didn't have a lot since his home was just outside the place, more leaving him an outsider that just occasionally came by. Seeing Aster, he kinda felt a little under dressed, but there was about nothing he could do, though he also wasn't directly aware she was actually a princess. He assumed the last comment was just some joke or other social cue he would look like a fool for not knowing. These swirling thoughts at least somewhat distracted him, not managing to stop staring until the girl in question was speaking right to him, cheeks flushing out of embarrassment.

"uh... early? I... A-am I really that early?" He questioned once his brain caught up to what was asked, hand scratching at his shoulder. In his defense, he never attended these things and he figured maybe it had changed? That or he just remembered the starting time wrong. God this really was already a mess, wasn't it?

" yeah.. an hour early. I had to move it ahead because something came up.. you know Royal duties... never marry into a royal line of Vampires.. it doesn't  usually  end well.. but my father insisted on going to this one and I had o choice but to accept  the offer"  Aster said " Lazarus..  its ok if you came early.. I kinda wanted you to.. I.. just thought that maybe in that hour we have left before the celebration.. I though we could... I don't know.. walk to the park around the corner and just.. h-hang out." She was really nervous because being around Lazarus meant that he would be the one. But what would her father say about marrying a commoner. All she knew was that it wasn't going to end well. So she planned to keep a low profile that night at the celebration. 

" My father will be there so, please be careful. He's rough around the edges. But I want  you to meet him anyways.. maybe during the dance..." And she yet again put a piece of her hair behind her ear and looked at him. Her back straight and hr hands behind her back. Just the way her mother taught her. 

Lazarus gave a slightly confused look at hearing 'royal duties', now starting to question if the comment from earlier had more meaning to it. He didn't actually know much about the royal lines, his family were much happier sticking to their own little plot of land and raising the animals they kept there. However, he didn't dare question it initially as he had a bit of a problem with feeling like he was interrupting people, which left him just furrowing his brow as he tried to put together what exactly happened.

"Uh... I-I guess that's alright, I don't mind it um..." He agreed easily, he would like to get time away from people if he would deal with a crowd, but he then tried to bring up his question, "I just uh... w-what exactly do you mean by uh... royal duties? or us meeting your dad or such? I-I don't really live in the town, I only come to shop so uh... sorry." He asked, somewhat feeling he needed to explain as he didn't know if he was missing something because of him not technically being a resident of the town.

Aster sighed as they went to the small part around the corner  " Lazarus.. you need to understand. I am a pure blooded royal vampire.  every year when this lovely celebrations comes round, I have to find a mate, so to speak. And ive been to hundreds of them in my life time. And I rejected them all. But I have a feeling that this one is different." she eyed him with a gently smile.  She had stopped at ta two person bench and sat down, patting the empty one beside her.  " as for the " royal duties", I think that explains itself, does it not?"

Then she paused to take a deep breath in and released it slowly " my father, being the king,  is  going to be on that music podium looking for for my rightful suitor. and I think it might-"  but she just couldn't say it. " Im sorry... im getting ahead of myself..  "

They were at the park for half an hour when the people of the town began to trickle in " Lazarus.. I think we better get back.. Plus father doesnt know i've gone." Aster took his hand in hers and walked back to the celebration. hen let go of him. 

Lazarus was a bit surprised, and maybe seemed a little tense at that, but it wasn't Aster's fault. She was really nice, but he knew for a fact his mother always had a thing against the royal family. Why, he wasn't entirely sure, but it was why he lived towards the outskirts, as his mom had felt it was a lot safer for him and his siblings.

"Ah... I suppose that makes sense, I guess...? S.. seems a little weird, to pick who you love like that..." He murmured, not getting how one could just automatically know who should be one's mate. It was maybe why he didn't pick up that there was hints to her thinking he might fit, just believing this was how friendship worked, or well, generally something like that. Not that he wasn't exactly interested, she was rather kind and quite beautiful, but he didn't manage to connect the dots.

When it came to leaving, he did grow tense again despite how he just had started to relax, but he didn't fight the hand leading him back towards were the celebration was. Tucking his hands to his chest after they were back, his gaze carefully looked around to see if he could spot where Aster's father seemed to be, as now he was more curious as to what in the world was going on with this sort of celebration.
