"wait what did you just say?" Aster asked as she looked up at him with tear stained eyes " D-did you just say what i think you s-said?" 

She saw him nod and a huge smile crossed her face " Laz.. that's the first time I ever heard you say that to me. And nothing else would have made me any happier." She laughed before giving him a kiss. " Now.. come on... w-we better get into the palace before a guard of my father sees us snogging."

She let herself out of his tight hold and held his hand in hers as she led themselves into the flower courtyard that led to the palace entrance " I wish I could make it up to you, Laz.. things have been so...stressful and all I want right now is to be in your arms and fall asleep."

Instead of going to do her duties that night, she went straight to her room and grabbed the extra blanket and pillow for Lazarus "  do you want these at the edge or the end of my bed Laz? " she asked

(sheesh I totally forgot to read and reply.. had a party tonight)

Lazarus perked up as she asked what he said, so he just paused before giving a soft smile and nodding as he didn't actually trust his voice to give a proper answer to her without a stutter or anything like that. After, he did end up relaxing in response and was just glad that he managed to get such a big smile on Aster's face, moving to kiss her forehead softly.

"Yeah, okay, let's go." He assured, moving to softly squeeze her hand in an affection manner before following her out of the stable and towards the courtyard so that they could go inside the palace. He honestly wasn't sure if him holding her while she slept would be appropriate, but he could understand that she wanted comfort with how bad of a situation this was.

He wanted to comment that she maybe should go to see her father, but there was already a yelling match of sorts, so he just instead kept quiet and let himself be lead off to her room, watching as she grabbed out an extra pillow and blanket.

"Really, I will be fine on the floor if it'd be better for this situation. I've probably slept in worse places before, so you don't need to worry." Lazarus explained to her, just in case she was offering to only be nice about it.

Aster rolled her eyes at him before tossing the pillow at him playfully " The floor it is then. "

She placed the blanket neatly on the side of the bed, incase she needed to have him come to her in the middle of the night.

" I prolly should go talk to  him, Laz. you can come if you want, but you can only stay at the door. " Aster said standing up and walked to him " Whatever happens, dont come in. "

She took his hand in hers and headed straight fr the  throne room. She knocked and  her father let her in. Aster eyed Laz once before slightly closing the door and walked to the king,  getting onto her knees at the base of the throne. " Father. I.. im sorry" she didnt know what else to say at that point. So she left it at that

Lazarus laughed a bit, but at least moved to place the pillow down for now since he didn't need it just yet and had moved to look towards Aster as she spoke.

"... I'll stand outside then, I'll do my best to try and not make the situation worse for you." He answered after a bit of hesitance, just praying that he couldn't risk giving the princess a harder time then he had right at this point. Well, it wasn't entirely his fault, but it was a bit hard to not feel like that was the case.

Carefully he followed after her, again lightly squeezing her hand to try and comfort her before they had reached the throne room. He watched her walk inside, then shifted to slide down next to the door so he could more easily listen to what was going on. Maybe it's be seen as rude to listen in, but he was just scared for her. The king didn't exactly seem like he was in the best of moods at this point in time.

" Aster, you have made things harder on this family ever since you  met that  boy. You havent been doing your royal dutties and you have somewhat abandoned me. Why?" Alarick asked looking at Aster

" Father.. let me explain. Please" Aster said  lifting her head so she eyed the king. " I love him father. And I could never ask for anyone better, Lazarus is my missing piece. And yes we have exchanged kisses once in awhile, but that doesnt concern this conflict. Does it?" she paused for a moment " You may be my father, but you cant get in the way of my love life. Even if I decide to have kids early eith Laz. If he doesnt, ill be happy in his decition. I cant force him into eanything. Like he really never forced me into anything either. Im taking things slow. "

" has he evem asked you on a-" Alarick said before he was cut off

" No... but I suggested a picnic and we stilll havent done it yet. Like I said father, im letting him do what he pleases and when he feels comfortable. "

Aster sighed before standing up and slowly back up towards the door, still facing her father " I wont leave the palace, but I will visit as I please. I have a life I want to live my way. Mother wants me and laz to be happy together, Alarick. and thats just how it is going to be" She then reached the door and slid through it before giving a smile towards Lazarus " That went better than i expected...And just so you know, Laz, everything I told him is true."

She gently wrapped her arms around his waist and looked into his eyes before giving him a long awaited kiss.

Lazarus frowned as he listened, rubbing a hand over his arm as part of him did maybe feel a little guilty that he didn't even try to take her on a date just yet. Maybe he could plan something with the cooks if she ever had something to do in relations to her duties. Just to be nice, after all, technically at that point she's made more steps forward then he has.

He did perk up at the mention of the mention of kids, but he pushed it to the side for now and instead perked up as he saw Aster coming through the door, offering her a small smile. Standing up, he moved to gently put an arm around her softly and Allowing her to kiss him when she initiated it.

"Didn't think you'd lie. Still I do think maybe you should do some of your duties. You don't need to avoid doing them just for me." He spoke more quietly, just to try and make sure she knew he wouldn't be upset or anything.

Lazarus honestly wasn't entirely sure what was going on in her head, but he wanted to know if it might even remotely allow him to help fix things. He still felt a bit at fault and he just couldn't keep doing nothing but biting his tongue.

" I couldnt dare lie to him, Laz. The true is the true and if you have a problem with anything I have said so far to him, go ahead and tell me. " Aster said heading back up to the bedroom to change into something more comfortable to get her duties done that she missed for many weeks.  "  I just hope we can make- this relationship last" Aster said getting into a knee length dress and her hair pulled back before leaving  the bathroom.

" Now.. I have to get a few things done.. I suppose you could  go to the study and wait or just stay here for  now. Up to you. I dont know when I'll be back though."

She walked up to him before kissing his cheek before backing up and slowly walked out of the bedroom.

Laz shook his head a good bit, as he hadn't had a problem, maybe a little confused, but no problems in the slightest. He just followed after her and moved to go into the bedroom as well. "I promise, I hope it works out..." He assured as well, allowing her to head off into the bathroom to get changed.

He sighed and sat down to look around for a bit before eventually perking up and looking over towards her again. "Okay, I guess I might stay here, but uh.... out of curiosity, where is the kitchens...?" He decided to try and ask, carefully moving to try and get her to pause just for a moment to possibly give him an answer.

He mainly was just trying to play it off as if he might be hungry or just wanted to help out like he said earlier.

"  its funny you should ask, Laz.  we have two kitchens.  one down  stirs in the den and one  on this level." Aster said eyeing him as she stopped by the bedroom door and turned "  the one down here is past the throne room, down the hall and to the left. You cant miss it.  " she gave a sigh before speaking again " If you need to go in there, ill grant you access. But dont let my father see you in there, Laz."

 Then she looked back at the door  before slowly making her way to get her long undone list of chores and duties done. " Ill see you in a few hours, babe"

Lazarus nodded and was sure to listen to what she said, as he really did want to try and work something out, but he nodded at hearing her warning. He wasn't sure how bad it might end up being if he was spotted, but it would be something he'd watch out for regardless with it seeming important enough for Aster to warn him about it.

"I p-promise. S-see ya, Aster." He managed to stutter out, having initially been distracted by hearing the 'babe' she added on which had him flushing a little. It was sweet, and really only made him a little more determined to get some food set, which is why he quickly had headed out after she was gone so he could try and see if the cooks would be fine with it or not.
