After The Fall - Post Apoctaplyptic : 1V1 - cautious & Wolvenflame

“Radiation?” Fallon questioned once hearing about the dog, the thought didn’t bother her much and it made sense. She had heard about the effects of radiation from old text books her mother had traded for from before the fall. “They say that humans can have birth defects similar.” She curled her lips up and bit on them in thought. “Not friendly in what sense. Can we take it over? Or should we shoot for Clayton and see if we can get a ride on a boat over?” She nodded and looked around, the sun started to peek out and the air became warmer almost more comfortable, she knew this meant the snow would be melting. “We should get moving unless we want to be soaking wet from the ground” she retorted before standing and dusting her butt and legs off.

"Not a birth defect," Justin answered, he looking down at her this time. "A mutation that happened when the animal was normal. We... We actually witnessed it happen." It was a scene he'd not be forgetting any time soon. That had been... What? A month? Two months ago? He soon looked Skyward, and gave a shake of his head. "Let Shawn finish first. Then we can move." Why? Because he was making a quick meal. The kid knew what he was doing it seemed, and had resumed humming as if nothing had interrupted or bothered him. Strange kid... But with what he'd seen...? It was lucky he was the way he was. 

she raised her brows and noted that fact. "but it is radiation caused right?" She watched Shawn cooking away as she stood, transferring her weight from foot to another. "Do we have any ideas as to where we will stay tonight, i mean when we went to Clayton we always drove." She questioned to herself, the drive had been 4 hours in car which meant they wouldn't get anywhere near of approaching the town before nightfall. 

"There's a cave. But it'll take us the rest of the day to get there," Justin answered. "We rested there for a few nights before we made our way up here." Then again, they hadn't had much of a choice. After the bridge incident, he'd had to recover...regain himself, his strength. It had been quite a fight, sadly. The man sighed, looked towards teh sky. Sometimes, just sometimes, he wondered what this world was like before the Fall. It was truly hard to tell, because no one really remembered. He and Shawn had learned reading, and in a broken world? That was a rare feat in and of itself. "So, I'd suggest  getting used to sleeping on the earth. There'll be plenty of it."

Fallon rolled her eyes a bit and then thought to herself. Does he think im going to fuss over sleeping on the ground... She stopped herself and took a deep breath, she was to be around them for over who knows how long, she couldnt go picking fights over him and his condescending terms. "Shawn hows that going? We should probably make a mile hmm?" She awkwardly stared at the younger boy, he had an odd demeanor, she wondered how he got through things, or if he was mentally alright.

Mentally? He was honestly fine. Didn't remember his parents, or why he was an orphan. Which was good. He'd been three when it happened. Old enough to remember. Young enough to forget. The memory block was a blissful thing, really. "Hm? It... It's g-going go... Good." He answered. The lad was definitely a stutterer. At least, around New folk. He was always so nervous, shy, quiet. Brilliant, however. Extremely brilliant. Justin merely glanced at the pair a moment, but one could tell he was watching like a hawk, so to speak. No one messed with his baby brother and got away with it... Shawn, however, didn't seem to mind the conversation. "A-almost.. Almost done. If... If you... If you're hungry," he answered then. "It... It's b-b-basic, but... But good." Merely oatmeal. Quick, easy, and filling.

Fallon sighed and nodded, she was a little hungry. "Thank you Shane" She smiled and accepted a bowl as he offered, she slowly spooned the oats into her mouth, feeling her stomach warm with each bite. "Where is this cave we need to get too Justice?" She looked up at him, curious as to how much further they had to travel before the falling sun, Who knows what would come out at night, wolves? Worse? 

Shawn chuckled a little bit at this. "M-my name I-I-is Sh-Shawn. Not... Not Sha-Shane." He then offered a bowl to Justin, whom simply jumped out of the tree he'd been in and took the bowl with a nod of thanks. As Fallon spoke, a brow rose at her question. "Afraid of the dark?" he mused then. Justin seemed to scarf down his food, he soon packing and cleaning whole Shawn ate his own bowl full of oats. Couldn't waste much time could they?
