The pair had been trapped in the house for a good three days. The blizzard had been raging on, but it had been expected. Why? Because blizzards. They just sucked, honestly. Justin had been quiet most of it, sleeping on and off for a couple hours at a time. Shawn, however, had opted to help with the cooking and cleaning around the home. He was extremely good at it, too, showing Fallon a few of the flavors he'd had and often used. Herbs were nice, and he knew what to use it seemed. Justin, himself, had taken up guarding the house. A blizzard was, unfortunately, a massive hindrance in finding threats.... People who were well geared still could move in this....

However, after the three days, it seemed that the weather was beginning to clear up. "Well... Looks decent out...." Nice. Justin seemed happy with it. The weather. It meant that they'd be able to travel soon. The main problem would be all the snow. Blizzards had a habit of piling up snow....and when they went outside, they'd need to be careful. He looked to Fallon then, and then to Shawn. The lad already knew what to do. He was quick to put on his coat and furs, including the mask that had been made for him. "You'll need a mask to go outside in this... You ready?"

(FUCKKKK OOPS SORRY I TOTALLLY RHOUFNT I REPLIED TO THIS)

Fallon nodded, pulling her jacket on she buttoned and bundled up her jacket and wrapped a wool scarf around her neck and over her nose. She was ready. She nodded to Justin and said “alright is everyone ready? Shane?” She looked at the other boy and waited for them both to be ready before snatching her bow, arrow sheath and cracked open the door. Now on for the next crazy stage of my life

(S'all good. XD gave me time to look over the post I made, lol)

Shane, huh? Shawn laughed a little at this. The sound was muffled by his mask, but it was still a rather cheery sound. "Don't w-worry about m-m-me. I'm used to... To constantly moving. It's... It's a-a th-thing with... With us." They had to be prepared to constantly move, after all. Justin soon got himself up, he putting on his own fur coat before throwing the duster on over it. He then straightened the collar of the coat, and put on his own heavy scarf. Sunglasses then went on after that, and Fallon would see Shawn do the same thing, a hat soon following after. "F-for... For protection. From... From the s-s-sun. Have... Have any?" Sunglasses, he meant.

She shook her head. “I’ll be fine, I’ve lived up here so long I’m used to the bright sun off the snow.” She pulled herself out of the door, kicking at the drift of show which had piled up against the door. She pressed her lips to her fingers and touched the door. “A final goodbye. Take care.” She whispered to the home, and her family. I’m sorry dad. It’s for the best. She remembered his words “don’t leave, it’s safe here. Don’t go to the cities.”  She was unclear what would happen now, but this was the next step and stage into her new crazy life.

She pulled her backpack straps up and shrugged before stepping down the stairs, her feet crunching and munching into the crispy snow.

Justin, once Shawn had wriggled his way out, hefted himself up and out as well. He looked about the area, wondering whether or not he ought to stay and help the rest of the folks. But, chances were, they didn't need it. They had likely already done all this before without him. Shouldering his rifle, he soon began to tread along the snow, sinking in some areas, stepping on top of the snow in others. The town wasn't worth looking through at this moment, knowing that people were trying to survive here. They'd just have to go find some place else to raid. For now, he opted to take lead. Shawn was right behind him, all silent except for the crunching of boots on snow. Justin didn't seem to talk much. It was hard to tell where he was looking with those sunglasses of his on, but it was clear his attention was high. He was extremely alert, stopping now and again to ensure nothing was following them. With the blizzard having just let up, most everything would be slow to move.

Fallon sighed and continued to walk, the ground was crisp and cold but the sky was clear of clouds. The sky stood a bright blue, it was peaceful, quite. Birds could be heard chirping as they walked and left the town. Her whole life had been on this territory and in this town, it was odd now to be leaving.

Trees passed them and the day stretched on, the landscape was changing a little bit and she finally looked up and watched the two boys, speaking for the first time in what felt like an hour. “So, are we going to talk about ourselves to eachothers or will we just be strangers forever.” She smirked a bit and didn’t wait for a response before continuing. “I mean clearly you haven’t gotten sick enough of me, you did invite me to join.”

Justin glanced towards her then, a brow raised. "We can talk when stopped, but I prefer silence when traveling." With good reason, of course. There was a reason why he did, mostly due to nature. "Just how much of the world have you seen outside of your small town?" That would answer a lot, honestly. He could, would, fill her in. Since she insisted on talking, he looked around for a suitable spot to camp for now. Besides, they needed to eat. And resting would be good. After selecting a decent spot, he positioned himself up in a nearby tree to stand guard. Shawn took over making the camp, he humming to himself softly as he did so. What was such a soft spoken, gentle boy doing out here? How had he even survived? Then again, one look at Justin... And one knew how he had.

She nodded and looked around the area before sitting down again. She stretched and rolled her shoulders before beginning. “I’ve been as far as the Fraser River. There’s a small settlement near it they have been calling Clayton, I’m sure you both had to pass it on the way up. Haven’t been there in damn near a year since after my dad died I didn’t do much traveling.” She nodded and lowered her head, remembering the fond memories of spending time with her parents and the small trips they would take to get supplies. “There was a fellow there who traded fur and bone for other essentials. He was trading it further up the river. Not sure what happened to him but I wouldn’t bank on him being there.” She rubbed her cold hands together through her gloves, and continued. “I’ve heard the stories about what’s happened down south. It’s dangerous as hell, we never dared to cross the main river. Thankfully it turns many off of coming up here, you need a boat to cross or to find a bridge not occupied. How did you cross?” She raised her brow with curiosity. “My family has lived up here for generations, my parents belonged to the Cree tribe, my family has always lived in these parts”

"Bridge," Justin answered. "People there weren't exactly friendly...." He shrugged his shoulders at this. He'd done what he had to do. Sure, Shawn had laid into him for a while, but mostly die to the fact he could have lost his brother. "Got to do what you can to survive, you know?" he then answered, keeping watch out. "The animals.... Those that took to the radiation back in the days of the war definitely are the ones you see. Slow, sluggish... Smaller than average. But then there are... Others... Others that had the opposite reaction..." She would see Shawn visibly shudder at that. Seemed he pipped up for a brief moment.

" W-we once CA-came a-across a... A dog... It... It was spl-split in ha-half, screaming... Screaming and... And how-howling... Ram... Rampaging. It... It ki-killed an-anything... Anything in sight..." It had been disturbing, and it had taken Justin several of his rifle bullets, a handful from his pistol, and then his knife just to kill it... That had been a brutal battle....
