'Swap marking slots' item

Posted 2021-01-04 23:06:28

We've already addressed this... The staff can lock Tier... whatever the raffle marks are so they can't be moved from their slots. (On Lioden, it's Tier 2, but I don't remember for here? I think it was something weird like 7? Dunno.) Since markings are sorted by Tier according to where they come from/how to get them on the wolf, it shouldn't be difficult to make those specific Tiers immune, similar to how having pups makes a wolf immune to a sex change or a female being on breeding cooldown is immune to the effects of an Elk Heart.

Full support!

Why overcomplicate things? It's a major reason why I stopped playing Lioden. The breeding rules were far too difficult for a newbie like me to understand and I ended up wasting so much time and money (RL and game).

If you truly want to keep certain markings 'rare' such as raffle exclusive markings, then fine. Just don't include all supposedly 'limited' markings, especially since a lot of those NBW or breeding only markings tend to cover up quite a bit.

Support! Having a feature like this would make customizing wolves much less of a hassle. I hate having to remove a Marking only to put the same marking back in a different slot. An item that could switch markings around would be a game changer.

Yes please, this would be wonderful. And a locked/immoveable marking feature would satisfactorily address the matter of certain markings needing to be in a specific slot if that ever becomes a thing.

Support, please, omg, I would love to be able to move markings that cover a large amount of the coat to lower slots, even if it is just a "This marking must moved to a marking slot that does not currently have a marking" kind of thing.

still supporting this! let this game be different from lioden— if people want to slot-breed, they can at least go over there, although i don't understand why it's encouraged on either site— ultimately, one of the core experiences of this game is customizing characters to look how you want— this seems like a pretty simple and easy way of doing that

I'm for this!
Though I see why it may not happen. Please at least let us buy more slots! If I could just add another slot for something to go over a marking, it would look so much better

Commenting because I was just about to make the same suggestion before I saw it was already a common topic.

A simple 1 or 2 gc item that swaps marking #x with marking #x

When I joined I didn't realize that layer 1 is below layer 10, I thought layer 1 would be the priority. It would be extremely useful to have an item that can swap two markings as opposed to having to spend 5 gc just to reapply the marking, or 6 gc if you have to remove the old one.

of course it's also useful in other contexts, especially if you were breeding for a marking but needed to move it to a higher layer

I support if it's like some have said, and there are tiers of markings that are locked and unable to be moved. If it's simple grove applicator markings, sure shuffle em around, but fancier marks should be locked. Only two problems with that: for one, I think it would end up being very restrictive. There would be a lot of instances where people couldn't move many marks on their wolves if they have a lot of rare RMA marks and event marks and raffle marks. OTOH, it would still allow people to slightly improve wolves with more common markings so it might still be useful.
The other problem is that it's somewhat difficult right now to know what tier a marking is, so devs would have to implement visible marking tiers before implementing this change IMO, especially for the benefit of newer players who really have no clue which marks are rare.

I absolutely support! I actually made a suggestion like this before seeing this thread and got linked to it. I see some people saying it would hurt value when it came to slot placement, but I personally feel like this feature would have a much larger group of people that it would benefit for various reasons VS  the minority that is looking at Profit potential.

In fact, I did play Lioden for a short time and I think this feature would actually help wolvden feel less exclusive to popular sellers/lines and more friendly to new and/all players for a more balanced and opportune market as the game grows. As on Lioden I lost interest pretty quickly because it felt like you could never really compete with some of the top breeders and popular studs. Wolvden's features so far have really kept me invested because they feel like they actually try to avoid/work against exclusivity.
