(This is gonna be looooong and I'll tell you when I'm done lol. May have to stop in between to eat dinner.)

Two boys were running over the street. It was a dark night, yet the stars and the moon shined brighter than they'd both ever seen. Somehow the night sky seemed closer...
They ran, and ran side by side over the dead empty streets. Cold, fresh night air made their breath fume and they kept looking over their shoulders, stumbling as they ran along.
''You can not run, and you can not escape, for you WILL be turned!! We have chosen you, the both of you!!''
''NO!!'' One of the boys called back. ''You can't make us, you can't! We get to choose!! UNFAIR-''
He tripped, and the other boy had to hold him upright, pulling him along as he went.
''Yes, we will. Tonight has been determined. You have only set the locks in motion... There is nothing you can do that will undo it.''

The boys had been busy running all night. First, they started out at home, playing video games and eating snacks in front of the tv. Before they knew what had happened, strange creatures had intruded the small village. There was no electricity, no radio, no tv, no phones, no signals, no internet... they were shut in. Furthermore, the village was empty and the night sky.. Well, it just seemed to be getting closer and closer. So they had been running and fighting all night long, with improvised weapons. The boy's friend, who had come over to his house, had joked about this feeling like they were the main characters in one of their video games. ...But the boy did not like that comparison at all. Games were fun. And whatever this twisted game was, it was anything but fun.

They had run so long, only a few short times to take a moment and think, improvise and catch their breath. But those moments were enough to come up with a plan. It seemed like the entire village was somehow different; rearranged. The one fixed point seemed to be the woods. They had tried every single point of exit, but the only one that seemed open and not somehow rearranged was the woods over when you crossed the big road leading out of the village.
And they had reached the edge.

Both of them came to a sliding, stumbling stop, hitting each other in a 'did you see that' way and 'are you seeing this'. And both of them did see.

At the edge of the lush, green forest stood a white wolf, looking over the village.
The wolf seemed absolutely huge, and at his side stood a smaller, female wolf, brown fur. At his other side stood another brown wolf, a matchine one standing behind him. The boys recognised those two wolves as to what they'd come to call the Chasers; those were two of the main creatures chasing them. Except now they looked like wolves, not some strange, deformed creatures, but the resemblance was still there.

The boy with black hair stood and stepped forward, ignoring the calls and howls of even more Chasers behind the two. ''You.''
The wolf fixed his gaze on the boy. ''You did all this. You're behind all of this. Our village-''
''Silas.''
''...How do you know my name?!''
''Silas, you have failed.''
''Failed? You mean this was all some kind... of... sort of... test? A twisted test?!''
''You are upset?''
''Yeah, I'm upset! How dare you enter OUR village, and somehow drive everyone out of it, then chasing us around like animals? Like hunting game?? What gives you the right? We never asked for this, we didn't want to be turned, in some sort of sacrifice-''
''If you are upset, you should not have failed.''
Silas, the boy with the black hair, stepped forward, clenching his fist. ''And you shouldn't force us to something-''
The wolf bowed slightly. ''Forgetting something?''
''I'm not gonna bow to you, forget it!!''
''I did not imply you needed to bow to me, and I am not bowing to you. Are you not forgetting something?''
''No, I'm not forgetting something, what kind of a stupid question is that?!''
''You are forgetting.''
''NO I am NOT!! Shut up, just stop all this and let us go, leave us ALONE!!''
The wolf chuckled slightly at that, jumping down slightly from the hill that seperated forest and road. ''Is that truly your wish? To be left alone?''
''Yeah! Leave!! Go!!!''
''Alright,'' the wolf said, turning slightly. The other two brown wolves left, and the monsters behind them caught up with the boys. Both were pounced and forced to the ground.
But as they lay there, they were forced to watch as the strange creatures morphed back. ...Back into wolves. As soon as they had changed back, they trotted over the abandoned highway like it was their territory, to vanish into the woods. All that was left behind was the brown wolf and the huge white wolf.
''You want to be alone... Strange,'' he remarked. ''Because I recall you not being alone. In fact, I recall a little girl being all alone in her bedroom right now, laying in her bed ill...''
Silas squinted his face slightly. Something was starting to sound familiar...
''Long given up on missing her big brother,'' the wolf snarled, pouncing his claws on the asphalt as he reached it and making sparks fly.
Silas' eyes widened.
''Dude,'' his friend said. ''Didn't you have like, this little sister-''
But Silas pushed his friend aside, attempting to run back, only to find himself as if he was running in a dream. As if the air and gravity itself were working towards pushing him back, preventing him from sprinting. ''You wish to be alone?'' He heard the voice of the wolf behind him, and saw a flash of white next to him as he ran in place, in slow motion.
''Be alone.'' The wolf pounced the air, and before he landed, a blurry flash of white vanished into thin air.

With that, the wolves were all gone, as well as the big, white one. The boys were left alone on the street, and Silas screamed. ''NOOOO!!! YOU DO *NOT* GET TO TAKE HER!!! SHE IS *MY* SISTER, AND YOU DO *NOT* GET TO TAKE HER!! GET BACK HERE!!! DO *NOT* TAKE HER!!!!''
If there was anyone that could hear him aside from the plants right now, anyone that could see him sense him, they'd feel that this was not out of love or even slight worry about his sister. It was malice; pure malice. He purely didn't want the white wolf to 'win' or get the 'prize' . (I'm sorry I had to drop *ONE* hint at least I hope you don't mind :') )
He had fully forgotten he had a sister, only thinking about her when the wolf had literally told him he had a sister, and only worrying about her when the wolf hinted on taking her. Thinking that both wanted the girl for themselves. He was dead wrong. Because what he did not realise, or know was that the wolf did use magic on his memories.
A magic that would only allow him to remember his sister on this night if he truly loved her, or even cared for her... Seeing as he could not break through this easily... And seeing as it took malice and spite to break through it...

He did not love her, nor care for her.

~~

Farther away in the village, at the end of the street, there was a house. It was quite empty and cold, not feeling like a home at all. And in that house, there was one particular bedroom. A big bed was put at the center of the room, and in the middle of that bed, under a whole lot of blankets, there lay a little girl. She was awake, but only slightly. She felt a little strange...
Of course, she always felt ill, but she actually felt strange, and comfortable...
The moon and stars shone into her bedroom window, upon the bed and they made her feel warm and cozy. Then, there was a tinkling and it was as if the stars themselves entered the bedroom, manifesting themselves in a big.... dog? No.... a big wolf standing on her bed. The little girl gawked at it, but she felt no fear. Instead, it wagged its tail when she weakly tried to raise her hand up to it, and reached out for her hand instead. Something happened when they touched. It was still as if the stars were in her room, and the moon seemed to shine brighter until her arm fell down. The little girl coughed, and it sounded bad.
The wolf whined a little, nudging her gently. He seemed worried as the girl curled herself up in the blankets, grasping onto them and shivering. She felt off tonight, something about this night...
The wolf then decided to go ahead and take her, grabbing the corner of her blanket in his mouth. What happened next, is not something the wolf expected at all. She looked over her shoulder, weakly, and vulnerable, but as stars, no, magic, twinkled in her room, so did her eyes, gaining a playful shimmer to them. She then rolled out of bed straight to the floor, starting to laugh in delight as she managed to get to the door.
What she was doing was not really walking, or crawling. It was a strange mix between the two, stumbling all over the place. The wolf watched her fail to open the door properly, and he watched and felt the magic shimmering in the room. Then, he decided that a little play could not hurt.
He pounced the door handle and she burst out, still holding her blanket. The wolf was a little worried for her, making sure she didn't fall down the hard, stone stairs and making sure she wouldn't bump into anything. But he also wanted her to have her fun, so he joined the game of chasing her whilst also making sure she was safe. The girl didn't notice anything, which was just as intended by the wolf.

They played like that throughout the entire village, which had started shimmering with the same magic as in her room. The wolf pretended to chase her, she ran away until eventually, at the edge of the forest, she looked back at the wolf. He misunderstood a little and made a playbow, creeping towards her bare feet. But then she smiled and reached out for him. The wolf came closer, allowing himself to be pet before the girl curled up in her bedsheet, and didn't play or protest any further, letting herself be caught as the wolf playfully -and very gently- pounced her.
Game over.

That concluded it; this girl was coming with them. The wolf gently took one corner of her blanket, the brown she-wolf took another, and the other two chasers came up and grabbed the other two corners. Gently, they carried the girl to her new home, whilst her old one was raided by a very angry person, as it hit him he had lost. Lost his sister. But he did care about her; he lost.

The shimmers and magic, close night sky followed the girl all the way throughout the woods.

Verdance felt a shimmer of magic in the air, something had happened, not too far. She asked the plants around her, and they gave her interesting answers. Now what would wolves want with a little girl? But the magic did not seem malevolent, quite the contrary. Verdance padded leisurely in their direction, aided by the plants.

Scouty dropped her part of the blanket, turning her head like a dog seeing someone at the door. Matthew immediately followed her, and so the girl was put down gently. Scouty barked in the direction of the disturbance she felt, and Matthew turned to it.
''Hello,'' he said. ''We are just passing through, going back home to our territory, our pack,'' he said, ''will you let us pass? Apologies if we are on your territory, but we should be out of your fur soon.''

Except its'like
Verdance: Uhmmmm what have you got there?
Matthew, with no shame: A human)

(Loll, that's hilarious.)
"No worries, are you by any chance the Winged Wolf Pack?" Verdance asked, the smell reminded her of Nellie and Blue. She stepped forwards and gazed at them with a smile.

Matthew stood a little taller, surprised by this. ''Yes,'' he said, ''though we are a relatively new pack, so I am not sure how you have heard of us, unless you have heard of the true Winged Wolf, whom we named ourselves after. It's... a tragic, long story.''

"Of course, may I enquirer what you are doing with a human girl?" Verdance asked, her dark green fur making her almost invisible in the night.

Matthew sighed, sitting down. ''Well, it's... a long story, but trust me, she'd be better off living here than with her uncaring brother who forgot he even had a sister. She's under our protection; we will care for her.''

"Interesting. My name is Verdance, by the way." She smiled warmly.
