They would walk quite a while until they got to a seemingly, *seemingly* closed wall of plants and trees. There was a small tunnel in there -was that there before?- and that's what they walked through. After a short time of walking through that thick tunnel, they got to an open space surrounded by the same walls. It allowed the night sky to shine on them. Wolves were all awake, awaiting in anticipation. And seemingly this was big for them, because Sylvia was flooded. The little girl just laughed in delight at all the 'cute wolfies' but fell asleep quickly again. ''She must rest,'' Matthew announced in a deep voice. He dragged the blanket away some to the river, and stood upon the cliff overlooking it. ''You will be one of us,'' he said to no one in particular. Another white wolf came to the blanket. She looked like a female version of Matthew and licked Sylvia's cheek in a motherly way. Matthew joined her, nuzzling his mate in return. Both of them had settled down here from another distant pack; one they could barely recall now... Lots of white wolves, that was for sure. They were the only white wolves in this pack, though; the only ones whos fur was purely white as snow. Scouty quickly retreated to one of the many dens that surrounded the open place. Natural caves, dug out holes, open tree roots... There were all sorts of dens. ''Well, guess we sort of have a pup...'' the female wolf said. Matthew laughed. ''Her den is ready, by the way.'' ''Thank you, dear. I knew I could count on you.'' Matthew licked her ear, then they took the blanket there together. It looked kind of like Nellie's den, but less like a Hoard, and more like an actual den. So far, there was a bed made out of Large Leaves and Nesting Material and her blanket was put on top of that. Along with that, Large Leaves hung from the ceiling like a curtain. In the back, there was space to put her stuff, but it was still empty. ''....It's a bit empty, but I'm sure with time it'll turn into a nice, homey den,'' the she-wolf said, hanging her head in shame. ''Well,'' Matthew said, ''of course she can have wolves with her, and she'll have to give the den her own touch like every group of wolves...'' Matthew looked around at each of the den. The Unsorted Den was a mess, the pupsitter den was warm and soft, filled with pelts and Nesting Material, feathers and other sorts of stuff. The Figher Den was filled with trophies and Scouty's den was filled with all sorts of weird items she'd found on her journeys. There were various Hoards as well. The stuff they didn't use at the moment all shoved into one cave, spilling out into the open place so that the occasional thing would roll out and trip a wolf. The rest.... all shoved into the other cave into the same way. It was clear they were a new pack, but it was also clear they were a new pack that had already put a lot of space into making this space their home. ''Shall we stay with her, tonight?'' Matthew nodded. Then turned to Verdance. ''This is Verdance, by the way. She was a good help getting Sylvia here, and she knew Nellie.'' The she-wolf looked impressed. ''You mean-'' ''Yes, the Winged Wolf, Nellie. Apparantely they hung out together many times.'' ''Nice to meet you, Verdance,'' the wolf bowed her head in respect. ''My name is Dahlia. Matthew and I came from afar, him searching for his bloodline... it was a bit of a mystery, you see. Then, we settled down.'' |

Matthew was nowhere to be seen again, being in Sylvia's cave with her. He had trusted his mate with hosting, because he knew her longer than today already. |
