Hawkshade | Warrior | Location: Camp | Mentions: Daisypaw

Hawkshade nodded his head, absorbing the information his apprentice was relaying back to him. His own nose twitched as he tried to pick out the scents of the cats she listed. The stale scent trail told him that his clanmates had left a while before his arrival, and he was inclined to believe Daisypaw's nose when his own could only identify the collective scent of clan cats.

"Sounds right to me," he confirmed before his stomach growled lightly, "I just hope they bring back some fresh-kill. I haven't eaten since we've arrived here and I've no doubt others are growing hungry too." He hoped silently that the party would not run into trouble, there was no way to know what kind of competition they had in this area.

"We should busy ourselves nearby camp in the meantime. I was just gathering moss because I'm sure Quailtooth and Brightwhisper will be pleased to know we have a good source of it so close to camp. Go ahead and gather some up if you don't mind getting your paws wet," he suggested while flicking the mud off of his own feet. He couldn't tell which parts of his paws were covered in mud or not because of his dark pelt but he felt the uncomfortable moisture stuck between his toes. Ignoring the awkward feeling he padded to the water's edge again and took a seat, wrapping his tail around his paws protectively this time.

Lionchaser | Warrior | Male (he/him) | Location: Warrior's den/Camp | Mentions: Brightwhisper

"Looking lovely this morning, Brightwhisper." The charming warrior commented nonchalantly as he strolled closer to his companion's den, walking at a lazy yet confident pace. His broad set of shoulders rolled with the movement of his form, but the medicine cat's warning tone made him pause in his stride.

"Oh?" The tom twitched his whiskers in amusement, seemingly unbothered by Brightwhisper's sharp comment. "But who else would I bother, m'lady? Why, poking my nose into Graystar's business is practically my duty." The cheeky tom offered her a forced, wide grin. "Unless you'd rather I bother you this morning? I mean- I have a very busy, very full schedule, but I can make some rearrangements."

The golden-coated warrior briefly stretched out his hind legs before he settled down into a seated position, amber eyes glistening as he observed the medicine cat and awaited her response. She seemed to be already walking off, but Lionchaser was feeling particularly patient. Besides, if Brightwhisper didn't have time for his nonsense, Graystar certainly would. It was his duty to keep her on her toes.

Kestrelpaw||Apprentice||She/Her||Interactions:Minkfoot, Adderpaw, Troutpaw||Location: Outside of Apprentice Den

Kestrelpaw heard the booming voice coming from outside, which was Minkfoot's voice calling out to the apprentices. She silently sighed, as much as training did benefit her and would lead her to becoming a great warrior for her clan, a part of her just didn't wanna train at all since it was more like work instead of fun. However, she knew what was necessary as it was her duty to train. She gets up and exits the apprentices den and stands by Minkfoot. "I'll train today, Beeclaw is out hunting anyways." She looked into the entrance at Troutpaw and Adderpaw, wondering if they'll join her or not.

Brightwhisper | Med. Cat | Female (she/her) | Location: Camp Clearing

The female's whiskers twitched as she turned, her ears ticking back slightly.

"If it helps out Graystar to have some peace, I'll deal with you," Brightwhisper said in a quiet voice, nodding to the she-cat she was talking to and exchanging a brisk farewell as she slowly padded back up to the large tom.

"We can go ask Graystar if she wants your help with her current task or if she'd rather be left alone. If it is the latter, I would enjoy some help with getting fresh bedding for everybody since we weren't able to find much when we first arrived.
Then, I would really appreciate it if you could accompany me around the camp as I take note of everyone's health, especially when the warriors get back. Finally, I would love to go out and get some herbs before the day ends, for that is when the foxes will come out, as well as other predators I don't want to think about."

The golden she-cat finished, lifting her chin up as she flicked her tail slightly and sat down in front of the large tom.

Daisypaw | Apprentice | Female (she/her) | Location: At The Stream

Daisypaw smiled, glad that her mentor agreed with her, and she nodded. "I hope they all return safe, as well."

She then busied herself by standing adjacent to her mentor, dipping her head down to collect little mouthfuls of moss, squeezing the moss out of them and making a tiny pile beside her tail.

"I also saw a lot of spiderwebs and cobwebs in crevices throughout all the dens that haven't been cleared yet, especially the Elder's den. Of course, there are some between little fallen rocks throughout the camp and along the walls, but I don't think the medicine cats will appreciate it if we took all of them at once. Anyway, shall we get some after we drop the moss off at their den?" The petite she-cat asked, tilting her head.

She noticed that Brightwhisper had returned to continue talking with Lionchaser and that the other apprentices were probably about to start following after Kestrelpaw. She wondered what they were all talking about, but Daisypaw made sure to keep her attention on her mentor.

Shadowheart | Warrior | Male (he/him) | Location: Hunting

The tall black tom nodded approvingly as he saw one of the fellow warriors bringing back two voles, different in size, and bury them beside the other prey.

"A few more and we should get back. I don't think we should be away from camp too long, given the dangers lurking about. We should also start marking the territory. We can make this patrol useful in two ways." Shadowheart announced, loud enough for the party to hear, but not too loud as to scare off any unexpecting prey.

Troutpaw | Apprentice | Male (he/him) | Location: Leaving apprentice den | Mentions: Minkfoot, Adderpaw, Kestrelpaw, & Daisypaw

Troutpaw opened his mouth, ready to respond to Adderpaw, but before he could heard their names being called from somewhere out in camp. "Did she just call us kits?" he gasped dramatically, spinning around to face the den entrance. As he did so Kestrelpaw made her way past him and out into the clearing. After taking a moment to brush down his messy fur Troutpaw bounded out after her, waving his tail for Adderpaw to follow.

They came to a stop beside Minkfoot, the pretty warrior looking down at them with anticipation. "I wanna train!" Troutpaw announced, as though it wasn't obvious, "we aren't kits after all" he added, a light smirk crossing his maw at the remark. Scanning the clearing Troutpaw looked around for his mentor, Pebbletail, but couldn't catch anything but a fading scent of him on the breeze. Must be out hunting, Troutpaw thought, his ears drooping a little. Maybe someone else will be willing to train with me today.

Thrushfeather | Warrior | Female (she/her) | Location: Outside Warrior's den | Mentions: Brightwhisper, Minkfoot, & all present apprentices

On her way towards Graystar's den Thrushfeather ran into one of the clans medicine cats, Brightwhisper. Stopping and dipping her head to the pretty golden she-cat Thrushfeather replied with a smile. "I just was going to stop by and ask Graystar if there was anything I could do to help around camp since the morning hunting patrol already left" she replied. Hearing more voices suddenly appear behind her, though, she glanced over her shoulder to see the apprentices emerge from their den and make their way over to Minkfoot.

"On second thought I think I've found a task" she mewed lightly, watching as the young cats gathered themselves outside in the center of camp. "Minkfoot could probably use some help with those little rascals and I wanted to get some training in with Adderpaw today anyways" she finished turning in the direction of the others.

"You're welcome to come along with us if you wish. I know Quailtooth is already out searching for herbs, but if you do feel like going out feel free to tag along with us if you want the extra security of us warriors" she purred, her stump of a tail raising as much as it could as she finished her talk with Brightwhisper and made her way towards Minkfoot.

Pebbletail | Warrior | Male (He/Him) | Location: Hunting

Pebbletail watched the other warriors all catch something, and knew he needed to capture some prey as well. He stalked further into the underbrush before spotting some movement. Hoping it was a mouse and not a large insect, he tried to sneak up on it. When he was about to pounce, he mis-stepped and made a noise. The creature made a sudden movement, and Pebbletail dashed forward. He barely caught the prey–a mouse–by its tail, and struggled to hold it for a moment before he killed it with a bite to the neck. It was a scrawny thing, and he had not killed it cleanly. He'd probably made enough noise to wake half of the forest. Feeling vaguely ashamed, he walked back to the others with his kill.

"We've all caught something," He said quietly. "Should we keep scouting, or should we return to camp?"

Adderpaw | Apprentice | Male (He/Him) | Location: Outside Apprentice Den

Adderpaw bounded out of the apprentice den after Kestrelpaw and Troutpaw, shaking the dust out of his fur. "Sure, I'll train!" He said to Nectarheart. He grew even more excited when he saw his mentor, Thrushfeather, join the group. He was sure with both her and Nectarheart, an older warrior, training him today that he was going to learn a lot.

"What are we gonna do today?" He asked Minkfoot and Thrushfeather excitedly, sitting down beside Kestrelpaw. "Are we gonna hunt? Oh, or spar? Or something else?" He didn't really know what exactly he needed to learn in his training yet–most of his apprenticeship had been traveling–but he couldn't help but be excited at the prospect of learning.

| PumaFoot | Warrior | Male (He/Him) | Location: Outside Camp |

PumaFoot nodded. "Yes, I agree. Our borders need to be marked as soon as possible." The tom watched his fellow warriors as they caught their prey, careful to be silent so as not to startle anything.

"Everything is so... scrawny." The tom mumbled as his clan-mates buried their prey. "Even the birds." The tom tasted the air. With the stale scent of fox in one direction, he made sure to steer the group the other way. The burly tom flicked his bobbed tail anxiously as they drifted far from the camp. He knew they were getting pretty far, and it was vastly unfamiliar territory.

"Perhaps we should start heading back. We are getting very far away." The tom voiced aloud in his deep tones. "We don't know what resides around here. We should get the prey back to camp before something digs it up." The gray and black tom added, as he started to slow his pace, waiting for his clan-mates to reply.

Minkfoot | Warrior | Location: Outside Apprentice’s Den | Mentions: Thrushfeather, Kestrelpaw, Adderpaw, Troutpaw

Minkfoot’s attention shifted to the apprentices exiting the den. She purred a quick greeting as Kestrelpaw, Troutpaw, and Adderpaw approached her.

“Morning ‘paws, you look excited to be awake,” she joked with a glint in her eyes. “No need to get your fur in a bunch though,” she reassured the apprentices, “I doubt today will be a good day for actual warrior training, we won’t be much help to our clan mates if we’re off play-fighting each other while we should be making the Gorge into a proper home.” Her mind wandered for a moment and she looked at the ground in thought.

There were so many things they needed to do to turn the old Skyclan territory into their home once more. She sighed in relief when she saw Thrushfeather walking towards the group gathered around her. Hopefully the other warrior would be willing to help her make up her mind on what tasks to do today.

“Some cats should explore the Gorge a bit more today, I know I haven’t seen much more of it than the warrior’s den since we arrived and it could be smart to make sure we don’t have any foxes or badgers in some of the unused caves. You could practice your tracking and stalking in the darkness,” she suggested. “Or we could try to explore the territory outside of camp. We do need to find a proper training area somewhere around here.” She shrugged, unsure what the apprentices were interested and what their mentors were having them focus on.

“I’m also open to suggestions,” she chirped, hoping to hear her clanmates thoughts.

Hawkshade | Warrior | Location: At the Stream in Camp | Mentions: Daisypaw

Hawkshade stood slowly and stretched while doing so. “I feel like I’m training a medicine cat,” he joked, “we’re gathering moss and spiderwebs are next.”

The brown tom shook his head in disbelief, “I shouldn’t have gotten you started on the moss, Brightwhisper and Quailtooth are going to steal you from me when they see how helpful you are.” Hawkshade swished his tail along the ground, dragging his own moss pile closer to him before picking it up gently with his teeth so he could still speak.

“If we drop these off at their den quickly maybe we can see what the other apprentices are up to,” he looked pointedly at the group of cats nearby and then back at his own apprentice. “We could see if anyone wants to help us or if they’ve got anything good planned for the day.” He paused for a long moment. “It’ll do you some good to hang out with the others,” he purred confidently before padding away to the medicine cat’s den.

Daisypaw | Apprentice | Female (she/her) | Location: At The Stream (-> Med. Den --> Camp Clearing)

Daisypaw smiled, glad that she was being helpful, but the idea of being whisked away by Quailtooth and Brightwhisper was not pleasant to her. So, in response, she picked up her moss and nodded to her mentor. Right now, she just wanted to practice alone, but if he wanted to be with the group, she would bite her tongue and do what needed to be done. The camp was still dangerous, foreign territory, so she couldn't act all stuck up if she wanted to get things done.

And if he wanted her to hang out with the others.....

..... It was the least she could do.

Shaking the thoughts out of her head and disrupting her train of thought, she followed her mentor, taking quick steps to keep pace with him. Her tail brushed the ground as she padded after him.

When they reached the den, she made sure Brightwhisper wasn't looking as she slipped in, dropped off the moss, and turned her icy eyes to Hawkshade.

"I'm ready." She said quietly, flicking her ears.

Kestrelpaw||Apprentice||She/Her||Interactions:Minkfoot, Adderpaw, Troutpaw||Location: Camp Clearing

Kestrelpaw thought for a while before saying, "I think we should explore the territory and look for a training spot." It would help out with getting used to their territory. Sooner or later they would actually need to start training, so they need to find a spot and might as well do it know.

She flickers her ears, listening for other suggestions. She was starting to feel a bit more comfortable since Minkfoot has a friendly and comforting presence.
