Pebbletail | Warrior | Male (He/Him) | Location: Warrior's Den

Pebbletail woke, a bit later than he would have liked, to the sound of Shadowheart's voice. He staggered out of the den, painfully aware that several of his clanmates had already started the day. Part of him had wanted to stay inside the den. This unfamiliar territory made him anxious; he ached for the lake territory he'd grown up in, all its familiar scents.

He tried to clear his throat as quietly as possible. "I could also accompany someone to hunt," He said. "We don't know what exactly is out here yet, I'm not sure how safe it would be for any of us to go hunting alone until we have a better idea of who lives here..." He was eager to be helpful somehow. If he could make himself of use, that would surely quell his anxiety somewhat.

Brightwhisper | Med. Cat #1 | Female (she/her) | Location: Leader's Den

The petite she-cat took a few steps forward.

"I just wanted to say that Quailtooth and I have started collecting fresh herbs for the new stock, but we will be very busy trying to fill them up like they were by The Lake. I was also... wondering... if you had any ideas on how we could communicate with Starclan? Surely, Quailtooth and I will still share tongues with Starclan every quarter moon..? And you never got to go to the Moonpool to gain your nine lives. The thought of those things make me feel very hesitant about what's to come in the future..."

The golden tabby finished, her head dipped in respect to the new leader of Skyclan. She had yet another question she would ask after the she-cat responded, for she didn't want to ask all at once.

Shadowheart | Warrior | Male (he/him) | Location: Warriors' Den

Shadowheart opened his yellow eyes and turned to the tom.

"Wise words, Pebbletail. I would love to have you along." He nodded, before fixating his gaze once more on the seal-point. "Would you like to come along?"

| PumaFoot | Warrior | Male (He/Him) | Location: Warrior's Den |

Pumafoot woke up slowly to the sounds of cats talking outside the den. Stretching, he groggily got up. Shaking his pelt to wake his mind, he stepped out of the den to a group of warriors planning a hunting sessions. One ear tilted forward curiously, he addressed who he assumed was the leader of this expedition.

"ShadowHeart, should you need more able bodies, I'd be glad to accompany your group." The large tom meowed in his deep, rich voice, still husky from sleep. "StarClan knows the prey pile could stand a good hunting session." The tom added, a hint of sorrow behind his words, though his face remained neutral.

The tom stretched once more as he looked over the other two cats. One was a stocky white and gray tom he knew as Pebbletail. The other, BeeClaw, was a white and brown male. PumaFoot was not familiar with any of the toms, but he saw the necessity of a group hunting session.

"Perhaps Lionchaser would care to join as well, should he be awake?" PumaFoot said, raising his voice slightly so that those inside the den could hear. He knew the tom was more often than not asleep at this hour, but he thought perhaps if he heard, he might want to come along. PumaFoot, however, was not one to ask him directly if he would care to join.

Shadowheart | Warrior | Male (he/him) | Location: Warrior's Den.

"I appreciate all of the offers." The tall tom cleared his throat, flicking his tail, as tiny rays began filtering into the gorge, giving it a warm appearance. That didn't deter the cold chill from the realization of what happened, however.

"Yes, we definitely need plenty of prey. Our surviving clan members rely on us to get food, and that we shall do. Pebbletail, Pumafoot," he looked at them both in order. "You two have your minds set on hunting. Beeclaw, if you want to come as well, feel free to. That goes for your sister, as well." He added, not wanting the she-cat to think she was being left out.

"If Lionchaser decides he wants to stay asleep or hang back, he can help the apprentices collect bedding, I'm sure. Of course, that is up to Graystar. I'm sure she wouldn't want all of her warriors leaving to go hunt either way. The animals that inhabited this area while we were gone surely view us as rivals, intruders. It is important to stay alert and ensure the clan is safe."

Shadowheart lifted his ebon nose to the air. Surely, a faint hint of fox wafted in the air, but it seemed a bit stale. Still, it proved his point.

He looked to the toms, waiting for any words.

| PumaFoot | Warrior | Male (He/Him) | Location: Warrior's Den |

Pumafoot nodded his agreement. He flicked his bobbed tail slightly and began padding away from the den, his ears tilted forward in an invitation to follow. He set as brisk pace, his muscles already eager to pounce on a swift piece of prey. His stomach twinged with the slight pang that came when one was hungry, and this motivated him as he set onward, as he knew others must be feeling the same hollowness in their own stomaches.

"The prey will be different here." The tom said. "I mean, they will be different to catch." The tom was mostly speaking to himself, thinking on how they would catch enough prey for the clan in such an unfamiliar place. The tom was large and muscular, but that only got him so far. The prey here would likely have different patterns and schedule's, and one must have their wits about them if they were to learn.

(Short >< sorry)

Shadowheart | Warrior | Male (he/him) | Location: Going To Hunt

Shadowheart padded after the male, his long tail whisking against the floor lightly as he flicked it with anticipation. His claws unsheathed to help him climb up the slopes of the gorge, and he took in what Pumafoot said. He grunted in agreement.

The sun was rising, chasing the moon and forcing the stars to fade away. He looked up, examining the battle going on in the sky. A star twinkled a few times and then disappeared as the sun rose.

Is that what Starclan is going to end up doing to us? If they haven't already, that is. The tom wondered to himself. He didn't want to believe that Starclan would just up and go because they got driven out of their home. Warriors died trying to protect their clan and territory from the double assault, and their previous leader also paid the price.

What more did Starclan want from them?

Shadowheart returned his eyes to the path in front of them as they finally rounded the top of the gorge. His pupils dilated, fixing themselves to register the amount of light.

Graystar | Leader | Female (she/her) | Location: Leader's den

"No." The leader responded quietly, bitter about having to discuss the topic of communing wit their ignorant ancestors. "I have not explored much of the territory since our arrival last night. I mourned for Batstar, and then entered my quarters to have my rest." She despised the starry cats for abandoning her clan, for allowing them to be sent into exile without even bothering to cover the moon at the gatherings as the other four clans squabbled over territory issues. She didn't want to see her ancestors, anyways. She'd have nothing but foul words for them.

She twitched a slate ear towards the exit of her den, where she could hear the patter of pawsteps on stone as cats passed by. It appeared that her warriors had already congregated and mutually agreed to explore the mysterious territory. She wished them well. Who knew what terrors might be waiting for them out in the forest?

"Batstar never gave me any hints, either. Nobody has spoken of the old territory for moons. Not even our elders can recall tales of how Leafstar and the others got their nine lives." A heavy, frustrated sigh. "...But thank you for gathering herbs. Thank Quailtooth for me as well."

Graystar knew she had to get out there. She needed to represent her clan, her power, show them that she was strong and well. But how could she do so when she felt so broken and helpless on the inside?

Lionchaser | Warrior | Male (he/him) | Location: Warrior's den

StarClan, he thought they'd never leave. Had these cats no appreciation for the privacy of other warriors, or their naps? The journey had been long and tiresome, and the last thing that the brawny red warrior wanted to do was scamper off into the unknown territory to find some scrawny mice. Lionchaser had rolled onto his other side to face away from Shadowheart and the gang to communicate his disinterest. And then finally, they were gone.

He forced his eyes close and twitched his whiskers. He did humor the idea of hanging out with the apprentices, he so missed the apprentice he had lost in battle. He had been so proud of what Rockpaw had become...and then those filthy ShadowClanners sought to take the apprentice away from him. Curse StarClan for stealing away such a young and innocent life.

He wouldn't let that happen again.

Not now, not ever.

Pebbletail | Warrior | Male (He/Him) | Location: Going to Hunt

Pebbletail padded after Shadowheart and Pumafoot, glancing over his shoulder to see if Beeclaw was following. He hoped the tom would, because while a large party might not be the stealthiest, if they encountered fox or hostile rogue, he'd prefer to have more cats around.
He struggled to get up the side of the gorge, though he did manage. He was glad Shadowheart seemed to be looking forward and not at him. Pebbletail didn't want to look ridiculous in front of the older warrior. Once settled at the top, he sniffed at the air, picking up a mess of faint, distant prey scents.
Pebbletail glanced over at the other warriors, hoping one of them could take the lead. He was never a confident hunter, even in the territory he'd grown up in, and he didn't trust himself to pick the right scent to follow. The clan needed food, and he didn't want to mess up a chance at getting it just to prove himself.

Brightwhisper | Med. Cat | Female (she/her) | Location: Leader's Den

"I will make sure to thank him for you... I also had another thing to tell you, Graystar." The she-cat shuffled on her paws uneasily.

"Of course, I'm sure the rules of Starclan do not matter to you anymore, but... what will come of a new deputy? I know that there are many suitable warriors in the clan. I do not want to rush you at all!" She added quickly, already beginning to step away, closer to the den entrance.

"Just... think about it, please? I think it would help you stabilize the tasks of becoming a new leader so quickly and so suddenly. Thank you for hearing my words." Brightwhisper smiled softly, dipping her head once more to her leader.

Her ears were perked, but her paw was slightly turned, implying that she was ready to listen but also ready to leave given the instruction to.
