Storm interrupted " yes mom did tell us that, but dad was a clan cat Storm and the sooner you realize that the sooner it'll get better!" I turned to the she-cat "Im sorry for everything that has happened so far. "You know, for sisters, you sure don't look a whole lot alike." I observed as Storm began to settle down. "Anyway, my name's BrightFlame. It's nice to officially meet you.. I think." I sat still, waiting to see if Storm would try to jump me again, but she didn't. Instead, she sat down by her sister and began to wash her ear with one paw. Huh, they have the same nervous ticks.. "As interesting as this has been, you really should leave. I'm not the only one on patrol right now, and I don't think you'd want to be caught by any of my other clan members." I suggested, hoping they could just leave and that would be the end of it. But some part of me didn't want her to leave.. Dove. She was very pretty, and I feel like if I get to know her more, she'd turn out to be a pretty okay friend. |

I said trying her name out. "And yea we get that a lot Storms a blue tabby like mom I look like my dad but with moms spots or so I'm told." I looked over at Storm to see her cleaning her ear Something else Dad gave us the nervous tick to clean "As interesting as this has been, you really should leave. Storm said setting her paw down I gave her a warning glare taping my paw once and flicking her ear with my tailbe nice not hostile I could tell by the way she huffed she understood the code I hadn't used in years "Well you see BrightFlame we would but we don't know where to go. Storm what did dad call cats like us? Refugees?" "Rogue" she said "he called us rogues" "Yea well we don't have a home so if you could like point where there's no hostile cats maybe nice ones like you and we could go?" I said then felt bad because I'm asking alot of her "Or if you don't know that's fine too!" I hurried to rush out this causing Storm to look at me and then BrightFlame and her fur bristled all over again. One glare and she stopped |

"There is a barn to the north-west of here, but it's in another clan's territory, and they aren't any nicer than I am. Besides, the barn cats may not take you, they have a very strict social structure." I sighed, questioning the sanity of what I was about to do. "If you want.. I could take you to an abandoned fox den by the river. It's far enough away from our borders that you won't be caught, but it's close enough that I could come and check on you to make sure you aren't up to anything.. Sketchy." I added that last bit, just to make the message clear that I don't trust them yet. I sat patiently, waiting for their response. |

Damm it what do I do One look at Storm and I knew she was thinking the same "If you want.. I could take you to an abandoned fox den by the river. It's far enough away from our borders that you won't be caught, but it's close enough that I could come and check on you to make sure you aren't up to anything.. Sketchy." Oh StarClan she's gonna help us My whole heart lit up at her words I looked to Storm to see what she was thinking. Her tail tip was flicking so I knew thoughts were racing in her head. "Storm? What do you think?" I said I walked over to her and whispered to her "You know we don't have a different option, moms not here anymore she can't help us and Dad won't help us anyways . It's a no brainer even if you don't trust her I do." I said I wasn't sure but I think BrightFlame heard the last part of not the whole thing. " Fine" Storm said I jumped up and ran in two quick circles around Storm swatting at her ears and laughing. She laughed too and pushed my ribs causing me to stumble "Stop acting like a goof mousebrain." She said laughing I laughed too until I looked up to get up and saw I was face to face with BrightFlame and close too I could feel her slight exhale blow across my fur. Quickly and blushing I back up and licked my chest fur. I've never been happier to have fur This caused Storm to laugh. |

I quickly realigned my thoughts as she stood up and began to lick her chest fur. I could tell she was a bit embarrassed about how we had ended up, but Storm was getting a real good kick out of it. We gathered ourselves and I led them to the edge of our borders where the fox den was. I decided to let them explore for a bit and I laid down by the riverbed. |
