Immortal Pair bonds

allowed, then I also think a longer cooldown would be needed, but what if there was a rare chance to get a super rare gene or trait that only immortal wolves can pass on? Like eyes, or nose, or even a marking

Sounds so cool..

I like the idea of immortals being able to breed within their pairbond. However, I think there would definitely need to be some measures taken to keep it from being too OP, like others have suggested. Maybe these puppies are able to have special bases, markings, eyes, etc. that only immortals can pass down but their stats are always automatically NBW base stats. Definitely a longer cooldown, higher chance of pregnancy failure, and maybe restrict the amount of puppies per litter to be 1-2. Maybe these puppies have a somewhat longer lifespan than the average wolf without being completely immortal, to keep the system from feeling too oppressive with these drawbacks? Just a thought.

It shall be strictly pairbond breeding to other immortals cause somebody can just immortalize a 1000+ stat rare as hell stud and just ruin the game.

I want to reply to everyone, but I'm not exactly sure how at the moment. ^^;

I see that there are pros and cons to making immortal wolves breedable, and I'm all for seeing things go either way.
If they can't, then, hey, they can't. That's okay. It can still lead to fun lore, and maybe we can get unique things for immortal pair bonds. Like an option to have them in the same 'image.' Or something like that.

However, IF they do get to breed then I do think there should be some strict rules, as others have said. I would love to see what others have suggested here.
  • pups have super rare 'immortal wolves only' traits, markings, etc.
  • I agree that there should be a higher chance of unsuccessful breeding
  • A Grove item
  • much much longer cooldowns (30 days?)
  •   Low stats. Nothing over 300 or 400 tops.
  • 1 or 2 pups per litter.
  •   50/50 immortal vs mortal
  • ONLY immortal pair bonds can breed with each other (they must be bonded pair for 5+ Roll overs)

SUGGESTIONS: only 2 Immortal wolf pair breedings a month (????)
Pups have a higher chance of being sterile
An immortal wolf CAN NOT BE A STUD
Once they reach adulthood, Immortal wolf offspring (If immortal) cannot breed with any other wolf except when in an immortal pair bond.
If the offspring is mortal, they can breed normally with no chance of producing an immortal wolf(?????)

Thank you all again for the support! ^_^ It means so much to me! Thank you!!!

Support if it's just a cute "pairbond" type thing but don't support if it breeds. A lot has happened in this thread since I last voted. I'd even say no to adopting probably. It'd have to be just a lore / visual type thing for me to vote yes. It can't add anything to gameplay

I'm still thankful for your support, and while a lot has been discussed in this thread, I'm always open to whatever happens. I'd just love to be able to pair-bond my immortals due to the lore I have on them. I do think adopting would be fun because, really, it wouldn't change much at all. One pup per pair-bond a day, and that's all the immortal wolves would be is forever parents for puppies looking for a good home.

It's been some time since I posted here, but I wanted to say whether we get extra things or not; I'd still love there to be an option to pair bond my immortal wolves.
I have 4 (soon to be 6) that are lore based, and I would love them to be able to be bonded with their mates.

Agreed. I think extras could be for in the far future, but immortal pair bonds are such an easy addition! I would love to see them soon.

I agree, but the pairbond should not be breedable.
~~~~~
ELABORATION
Firstly, immortal pairbonds SHOULD be allowed, but for lore purposes ONLY.
If the pairbond were able to adopt, you would have an eternal adoption source. The player would have unlimited pups (excluding daily adopt limit).
Also, if the bond is broken, the wolves could not be "upset" as immortal wolves cannot lose hunger or mood.
Being able to breed immortal pairbonds is something I DO NOT support in any way. If the player bonded the right immortal wolves, for example, a G1 mela carrier fox piebald and a G2 mela wulfenite, that would make an infinite source of T3's, melas, piebalds, and even carrier-pied-T3's.
But wait, there's more.
Being able to breed these pairbonds might create a huge explosion in rare wolf numbers, decreasing their value. (I could ramble on about the market collapsing for hours, so lets just stop here).
