Development Update #12

Most of quests might be too easy, on the other paw, or the questing snake is too generous as prices have inflated by 50% within a week.

I'm not sure it's linked to availability of SC? For carcasses and amusement items, it seems logical that prices would raise when they were sold at 1-use before, and now we need full-use ones. I heard in-heat females prices went up too, as they can now be immediately used to gain 100 or 150 sc (dunno which difficulty the quest is), and of course ingredients that were useless before and now can be used to craft decor would have their prices go up quite a bit.
On the other hand, I heard someone say canine battle trophies prices fell instead, since they're more common with the quest to get it.
Or were you thinking about prices for other things?
I mostly track carcasses and lunar item prices, and lunar item prices didn't change much (we weeded out the cheaper ones and the further we go from the special lunar event the higher past lunar apps prices will climb, probably, but that's unrelated).

I meant currency conversion rate. Players became more likely to put up SC sale trades for approximately 50% higher rate while I find barely anywolf else to put up GC sale trades.

Oh. I just took a look, and, hm. Indeed.
But if it means the SC value of a 3GC grove item stays "the quantity of SC you can earn in two days", then... what's the problem? There are no other countries whose money would become much more expensive and plunge this one in poverty because we can't afford any more basic necessities that we don't produce ourselves. The only thing that changes, really, is the value of territory slots, which are now easier to get (probably; I don't know how the quest update changed the difficulty for new players)
(that may be a naive question: I am vaguely aware there are economy theories about the devaluation of money and how and why and then what, but I never actually studied economy)

I'm interested in the impact of these changes on the food market.
- Since there's sc inflation, does that mean the price of food is going up?
- Now the snake wants full-use carcasses, but isn't supposed to ask for large carcasses (...has that been fixed yet). Is this a greater or smaller food sink than before? Like I know under the old system it was possible to eat carcasses down to 1-2 uses before turning in, but I figure not everyone bothered with that (I didn't).

Depends on how you earn most of your sc! If your biggest source of income is quests, then it probably shakes out about the same. If your biggest source of income is the trading center, that probably isn't going to rise as much, so you may have less "real" income (in terms of gc conversion).

Hm... I'd say logically food prices would go up, but food prices are so all over the place that it's hard to say.
As someone who ate the extra uses of sold or bought quest carcasses, I'm of the opinion this is a greater food sink, but I don't know how others play.

My main sc source was 1-use feathers and 1-use carcasses , so I'm most likely gonna be poorer with this update, but that's linked to the full-use requirement more than to the sc devaluation.

Thanks for the analysis!

Has anywolf also noticed herbalist page loading for a longer time than prior update?

I just used snake skull for the first time.

Easy quest: leave puppy at the enclave.
All my current puppies are the ones, that have high stats (520-590) for enclave standards or are from raffle stud, which lines I would rather keep to myself (no Emperor/Michael Scott/Oleander lines). I didn't pay 250-600SC for studding just to then throw the pups away. I don't usually breed my wolves "just because".

Medium quest: complete an enclave quest
I never do them anyway, because momma bear often wants something ridiculous from me, that isn't aviable in the TC anyway. Considering the rest of the quests I didn't even tried to start this one.

Hard quest: complete large hunts
I'm in the harder biome than my hunting packs allow, because I train them. The best I can go in medium, and moving pack when you have over 40 wolves is painful enough xD

So yeah, snake skull for me. I still think the new system is way better than the old one though.

I completed a Quest today requiring  "full use food items". Is there a quest that specifies carcass? If it does I always have 1 use weasels & rats laying around I can throw at it.
All of my multi-use carcasses go to feeding my pack.

Yes there is. I personally never had one (yay quest diversity! I'm pretty excited every morning to find out what I'll get), but someone bought my agouti carcasses for a "give me two full-use agoutis" quest (a hard one).
