Today's Flavor: TW: Violence/mild gore/suffocation

Two cannons greeted the ears of the survivors today.

First was district 2's Sir Puppington. A storm had been brewing since the early morning, and it raged forth for hours on end during the day. Now, as the night was calm, the boulders were dropped for all to hear from the desert. During said storm, Sir Puppington took the opportunity to move. He slickly maneuvered through the darkness, fighting through the cold wind and rain that engulfed him. His eyes scanned his surroundings as he checked every nook and cranny for other competitors to slay.

Tymora, the district 3 tribute, was huddled in a cave. She'd seen Sir Puppington stalking his way through the arena, and she'd been one of the lesser known tributes despite her would-be career pack status. Due to her status as the physically largest pup, many had been quick to avoid her. She was shocked when districts 1, 2, and 4 themselves had turned their backs on her; her mentor had told her that they'd naturally fall into an alliance. The large, but malnourished tribute pressed herself impossibly closer to the ground, hoping that Sir Puppington wouldn't notice her.

He did.

He looked her way, ice-blue eyes narrowing. Chills ran through her body and she twitched. She could've taken him easily, being that she stood much taller than him... but fear flooded through her veins. By chance she'd seen the Game Master's scouts collect Duck and Uncooked Poultry's bodies. She'll never be able to forget the way Uncooked Poultry's head flopped and hung limp in the air as the Game Master's subordinates plucked her up by the scruff and carried her away, blood from her clawed open chest dripping onto the ground. Tymora was well aware of what Sir Puppington was capable of. She was terrified, but she forced herself upward.

"Please no, please!" pleaded district 5's Ashleaf, "Please, no!"

Tymora froze and heard a low chuckle. It sounded a lot like 'I found you.' She squinted and through the harsh rain, just barely managed to make out Sir Puppington and... the district 5 male. They were right outside the cave. Sir Puppington had found him seeking shelter in a rose bush. Tymora ducked down and observed, holding her breath as she did so.

Sir Puppington lunged at Ashleaf, but Tymora couldn't see exactly what was happening. With alarms going off in her head, she crawled closer to the entrance of the cave to get a look.

"I'm scared, don't come any closer! No!" A loud shriek sounded through the air, causing Tymora to wince. When the district 3 female opened her eyes, Sir Puppington's body was on the ground and he howled loudly in pain. Ashleaf had buried his claws in his eye sockets.

"My eyes--I can't see!" the small pup screeched, kicking his feet out. Ashleaf fell backwards into the rose bush, scraping himself badly in the process. And Sir Puppington, with his bloody, torn-up eyes, staggered away almost as quickly as he came.

Tymora had no idea what happened to him until late that night, after the storm had passed and a cannon erupted. Sir Puppington's eyes had gotten infected, and it quickly spread to his brain. He died alone in a muddy pit he'd blindly dug, and his body was recovered and sent home to district 2.

The rest of the tributes thought there would be peace after the first cannon. The deaths were assumed to be over for now. But Death of Autumn, ironically enough, died.

The district 13 male had caught district 7's Starlight nursing her wounded paw while eating what little food she managed to find. Starving, he watched her for hours, debating whether or not he really wanted to take down a wounded tribute. His heart was conflicted, but letting Victoria get away made his body drown in shame and embarrassment. He was here to win, not show everyone his soft-side.

So he decided that now was the time to prove himself--to his mother and his district. Aut leaped out of the bushes and tackled Starlight to the ground. She screamed in surprise, but he forced himself to bring a paw down on her. She wriggled free, dodging his attack. In a fit of panic, she clamped her jaws down on his shoulder and pulled. There was a grunt and then a loud cry from him. Adrenaline pulsed through Starlight. Despite her wounded paw, she came at the unprepared Death of Autumn, pushing him into the muck, which was wet from the rain.

He moved to get up, but he was stuck. His limbs felt like they were locked in place and deep in mud. Aut quickly realized he was sinking downwards into the muck. He frantically flailed about in an attempts to free himself, but he only sank faster. Soon, he was reduced to hysterical screaming, and he kept looking from the muck to Starlight, fearful of both her and his predicament. Starlight stood paralyzed in front of him, not quite realizing what she'd done. Blood quickly poured from Aut's shoulder wound and mixed with the thick muck.

The district 13's male was weak and on the brink of death after a solid hour. He'd closed his eyes for a bit. When they opened, he was up to his throat in muck and he could barely keep his head above the surface. Starlight was pacing back and forth on the surface, glancing at him occasionally.

"...Please," he finally managed, words strangled and hushed in his throat.

She looked at him, frozen in place yet again.

"Spare me," Aut croaked.

"I..." Starlight found tears in her eyes. She had no idea how to finish the job, and now that she'd calm down, there was no way she could bring herself to even if she knew how. Was she just supposed to... claw his face? Break his skull somehow? Tears streaked down her face. "I'm sorry," she whispered.

"No... no, please." His eyes were wide in panic. "Please don't leave me. Please don't leave me alone!"

Starlight forced herself to turn her back on him.

"I'm scared... I'm scared! Please help me! Please, you can't do this to me. Kill me... please," he begged her. But Starlight refused to look at him and began to walk away. "Don't leave me! Please! I don't know what to do, you can't leave me like this! Hey! Come back! Please!"

Then she was gone.

By the time his sobbing stopped and his tears had dried, he took his last breath and disappeared below the surface of the muck.

It took the Game Master and their scouts awhile to find him. The only giveaway were the droplets of blood leading from a large stain in the earth's soil to the thick, dark pool of mud. Death of Autumn's body, after some effort, was recovered. Mud, dirt, and blood caked his fur and wound, and he'd suffocated on a mixture of it as well. The body was instructed to be sent home to district 13, and the boulder dropped.

Sorry I rolled so late, been super busy all day.

Unfortunately....

Puppy Death

tough cookie's dead corpse was found on a river bank a few miles from your territory. He had been washed away by the current. Your scouts assume he had fallen into the river and drowned.

RIP buddy, you will be missed. </3

They thought it was over. It was so late in the day, there shouldn't be more than two deaths, right? Wrong. The cannon went off again, and the survivors looked around, utterly bewildered. District 6's Tough Cookie was trying to run away from a not-so-friendly coyote pack. He rushed into the river in an attempt to get away. The current swept up one coyote, sending it downstream. the soaked canine yanked itself ashore and laid there like a wet rat. Tough Cookie, on the other hand, was not so lucky. He was sent tumbling in the rushing river, eventually bashing his head open on a rock and drowning.

New day and new injury for Victoria

Puppy Injury

Victoria was caught unprepared in a storm! She thankfully found safety... Within a rather spiky tangle of rose bushes. She returned home once the storm passed, but not without a few surface cuts thanks to the rose bush thorns. Oh no! Victoria gained a small injury and suffered -5 HP

It's her second injury but at least she survived another night.

With the unexpected weaned boost, she is now at 19% survival chance

Peanut Butter couldn’t endured the harsh cold winter and he passed away.(sob)

Puppy Death

Peanut Butter never fully recovered from his bite wound. It became severely infected and caused Peanut Butter to pass away last night. To see your wolf's records, visit your Dynasty.

(Another Injury for Ashleaf. XD During the night, a snake slithered into your den and bit Ashleaf! Thankfully, the snake didn't seem like it was one of the dangerous ones, and while Ashleaf is a bit more grumpy this morning, it's better than the alternative. Oh no! Ashleaf gained a small injury and suffered -1 Hp)

Ashleaf awoke to a sharp pain in his leg, looking down he noticed a snake had latched there. A moment of panic flashed through him as he tried to recall the dangerous snakes his mother had taught him. When he didn't recognize this one as any of the ones his mother had warned him about, he gave a bit of a huff and pulled the snake from his leg. Ending its life quickly, he decided that this was as good a breakfast as any and chowed down. His leg ached for the rest of the day, which put him in a foul mood. The other tributes had better watch out if they crossed his path today

Ashleaf has sustained another injury but survived the night and his survival chance is now 19%.
