Post-apocalyptic Strays - Caffeinated & WolfClaw [RP]

Her responses didn't make sense to him but he snickered nonetheless.

"Oh god don't call me Wolfie," he craned his head back and rolled his eyes. His laugh made his shoulders shake, "you said I have yet to amaze you, looks like I have some work to do." He lifted his brows while his smile remained in tact. He paused for a moment. 

"Did you still want to get something for your friends?"

"I just wanted to see how you would react to that name, Wolfe.. Im sorry" Vi said stepping back from him " And Yeah.. but something bigger something they can both share." she said looking at him before looking away  for something worth catching " And what if I am trying to get you to impress me?" She teased " Is there something wrong with that?"

His laughter died down and his joyful face fell. Oh. He thought they were having fun. He opened his mouth to clarify or explain his response, but nothing came out. He shut his mouth and clenched his jaw. He cleared his throat, then he turned to look around as well.

"I actually haven't seen anything larger than a raccoon on my journey here from DC," Wolfe commented, not making that connection until now. No horses, deer, or cattle. Hmm.

" Raccoons should be just... fine" Vi said looking at him " Your far from home, then."

She then saw something moving " Wolfe... over there" she pointed her noise in the direction of the movement " I never really hunted at all. so imma let you handle it"

Wolfe nodded slowly. He missed his family a great deal, but he had to move on. He looked towards the movement he too caught from the corner of his eye. Before he had time to do anything Violet's comment made him look at her. 

"You have to learn eventually," he chuffed, licking his nose and tasting dried blood. He forgot the cat scratched him. "You have to either corner it or cut it off and just go for it. Here, come on, you try, I'll be there to catch it if it slips past you." He gestured with his head for her to lead the way, if she so chose to.

Violet chuckled " Well. Alright. I'll try"

She looked at where the animal used to be and walked over there before putting her nose down and sniffed the ground " I   got the scent. But now to find it and kill it"

 She sniffed the ground before movement ahead and to the right caught her attention " Be on the ready, Wolfe" She said with a bark and made the creature, which happened to be a racoon, to scuttle out and run 

But Vi was much faster then the racoon. She growled and pounced on it before killing it on the second try. She got scratched on her muzzle in the process. But didnt show the pain.

She put the raccoon in her mouth and walked back to Wolfe with a wagging tail.

Wolfe jogged after Violet, staying far back as to not startle the prey but close enough in case it turned into a pursuit. His ears flicked at Violet's bark, and he watched the raccoon begin to bolt. He stood on his toes ready, but he had confidence in Violet's abilities - especially since her tactic was quite similar to his from moments ago. He watched her finish and he released a woof. 

"You're a natural," he mused, standing in one spot as she came towards him.

" Well thank you, Wolfe.  Your way better than me though. " Vi  said with a smile " Now come on.. lets take this to my friends and see what we can do about those freaks, hm?"

Wolfe released a sigh. Violet seemed hopeful that there was something they could do about the freaks, but he had no hope. He went on with her back towards the apartment where the shepherd and toller resided.

Back at the apartment CJ lied on his side in the middle of the living room, his body trembling, panting, and coughing. Maggie was an anxious mess, pacing occasionally.

Violet ran up the stairs and reached the door.. but when she saw CJ on his side she just freaked out " CJ!!???" She   barked as she rant to him with the racoon in her mouth, but soon dropped beside him " CJ.. take to me.. what's.. Maggie, what's wrong with him?" She eyed Maggie hoping for an explanation 

"please tell me the freaks didn't get to him..." she said her voice getting slightly agitated that she wasn't there when this all started.
