Peakclan's Promise :: A Warrior Cats Roleplay (OPEN!!)

FLOWINGOAK // LOCATION: OAKCLAN/PEAKCLAN BORDER // MENTIONS: EVENINGPAW

Flowingoak sighed. "It's very possible, Eveningpaw." He mewed, gazing up at the sky, which was slowly turning a light blue. He returned his eyes ahead of himself as they reached the border.

Stoping, his eyes narrowed, looking out at the territory. It looked a bit bare since the trees were barely growing their buds and leaves now, unlike Oakclan. Even with their trees in a similar state, there were more of them, and they were thicker, giving their lands a more full and busy appearance.

His eyes were drawn to the base of the mountain further in the distance, the gaping hole making him curious. Suddenly, movement caught his attention.

"Eveningpaw, look! Two warriors." He whispered, gesturing towards a dilute calico and a tortoiseshell, huddled beside a bush. He couldn't tell if they were looking at something or having a secret conversation of some sort. Those are definitely Peakclan cats, I've seen them before, but what are they doing?

Something doesn't feel right here.

"We should go tell Leafstar about Lakeclan." He told the apprentice, trying to get both of their minds off of the strange interaction.

Eveningpaw // Location: OakClan/PeakClan Border // Mentions: Flowingoak

Eveningpaw flicked her tail nervously as they approached the border. She studied the PeakClan area until she spotted the two warriors Flowingoak had seen. Her eyes widened, fur bristling. "What if they attack?" She squeaked, voice wavering. She turned to Flowingoak and nodded. "We should. Something's not right." She turned away from the border, following the warrior towards camp.

FLOWINGOAK // LOCATION: OAKCLAN CAMP // MENTIONS: EVENINGPAW, LEAFSTAR

Flowingoak shook his head at the apprentice's worry. "They wouldn't attack us. They look too interested with whatever's under that bush." He said softly and started steering her towards the camp.

When they arrived, the tom nudged Eveningpaw with his nose, towards the freshkill pile. "You've done well on our little patrol. Go ahead and get something to eat; I'll go talk to Leafstar."

Flicking his bushy tail in farewell, the large male raised his head, scanning the slowly coming alive camp until his eyes landed on the familiar pelt of his leader.

He walked over quickly, trying not to let his light panic affect anyone else. "Good morning, Leafstar." He dipped his head respectfully to the leader, his ears twitching.

Eveningpaw // Location: OakClan Camp // Mentions: Flowingoak, Leafstar

Eveningpaw nodded, pushing the worrying thoughts away. Flowingoak was right. She shouldn't worry...and she was hungry. She nodded her thanks and trotted over to the fresh-kill pile, choosing a fat rabbit. She brought it over to the area where apprentices eat and took a bite, chewing with satisfaction. She watched the commotion around camp, then rested her eyes on Flowingoak, who was approaching Leafstar.

Ivycry // Location: Oakclan Camp // Mentions: Eveningpaw, Leafstar, Flowingoak.

Emerging from the warrior's den, Ivycry's gray muzzle stretched into a wide yawn, and she gave her half-asleep limbs a gentle shake. Sunlight filtered in through the molly's half-lidded eyes which were still heavy with sleep, and she glanced over at the entrance where distant chatter was coming from. It seemed like Flowingoak and Eveningpaw were coming back from a patrol; the warrior gave them a thorough lookover, checking for any wounds she could see from a distance. With an inaudible sigh of relief, she noted that it must have been a peaceful patrol, as they seemed to have sustained no injuries.

Her floppy ears perked as much as they could when she saw the deputy approach Leafstar, hoping to pick up a little bit of what was being said. Furrowing her brow, she reminded herself that snooping was uncourteous. She trusted both leader and deputy on their actions, and if it was important news, they would let the clan know. Perhaps they were simply discussing patrol stuff; no need for her to fret.

She appreciated the warmth of the sun on her back for a brief moment, before padding over to the prey pile. She chose a small mouse and gave a friendly nod to Eveningpaw, then tore off a chunk of flesh from the tiny rodent.

Eveningpaw // Location: OakClan Camp // Mentions: Flowingoak, Ivycry, Leafstar

Eveningpaw, still distracted, swallowed the chunk of rabbit and gave Ivycry a distracted smile and nod, the tip of her tail twitching. "Good morning, Ivycry," She meowed politely. She tore another chunk of meat from the rabbit, eyes fixed on Flowingoak and Leafstar. She chewed slowly, thinking, I wonder what they're talking about...

Ivycry's bright eyes darted over to the apprentice, observing her nervous behaviour. Although she didn't comment on it, her eyebrow did raise. She took another mouthful of mouse, before she turned her neck in order to speak to Eveningpaw. "So, how is it being an apprentice? Any better than being a kit?"

She smiled fondly at the younger molly, recalling when she was a tiny kit who barely came up to her knees. 'She's grown up so fast,' She thought to herself, before her eyes saddened. 'Maybe too fast, even. I remember the day her parents' bodies were brought back... What a terrible day.'

She followed her gaze to the leader and deputy, before glancing back at her. "I'm sure you appreciate the extra freedom. Trust me, it only gets better as a warrior! It means no gross chores, either. I remember one time I got mouse bile on my fur, and all the other apprentices made me sleep on the opposite side of the den for a moon!"

Eveningpaw shrugged, eyes still on Flowingoak and Leafstar. "It's much better," She mewed. "I get to have a little freedom. Sure, I have to follow my mentor's orders, but I still get to train." She glanced at Ivycry and smiled. She finished off the rabbit, gnawing on the bones. "I just wish to become a warrior. Then maybe, after I get lots of experience, I'll become a deputy or maybe a clan leader! I do hope I become one." She laughed a little as Ivypaw told her about the mouse bile. "Oh yes. I won't miss the gross chores. Too many times have I had to clean out the crow-food from the fresh-kill!" She shuddered, remembering the foul stench.

Ivycry // Location: Oakclan Camp // Mentions: Eveningpaw

"I'm sure you would make an excellent leader, Eveningpaw." Ivycry purred with encouragement, giving the apprentice a playful nudge with her paw. It was great that the apprentice had dreams, and she had great faith that she would follow through with them. "It takes a lot of courage and ambition to be leader and managing a whole clan! You're very brave for wanting to go down that route. I don't think I'd have the guts! I think I'd want a more quiet, simple life. Settle down with a mate, have a litter or two. But I sure look forward to serving under you as a loyal warrior."

Ivycry just hoped that if Eveningpaw ever did become Eveningstar, that she wouldn't have to deal with the troubles within the clans... But, maybe if she did, she could maybe also be the one to solve it. Ah, no point worrying about the future or reminiscing about the past - it was best to focus on what was happening in the present.

"Has your mentor taught you any battle moves yet? It's best you know a few, just in case... you know," She trailed off, and it could easily be guessed what she was hinting at. Ivycry fretted terribly about the safety of her clanmates in these violent times, especially the younger ones despite being a rather young warrior herself. At least she had full training - apprentices could easily be overpowered by a warrior who knew a move they didn't.

Eveningpaw // Location: OakClan Camp // Mentions: Flowingoak, Ivycry

Eveningpaw smiled, grateful for Ivycry's support. She nodded earnestly. "Maybe if I work hard, train hard and stay loyal, one day, I'll rise to a higher position. I at least want to make it to deputy." She grinned, imagining her name as Eveningstar, a whole clan looking up to her...then came the choices. But StarClan would guide her. She knew it.

Eveningpaw toyed with the white rabbit bones. "Battle moves? Not really. More training might start new-leaf. I only learned how to hunt when we basically stopped for the leaf-bare." She shrugged. "I'm sure I could protect myself," She mewed softly. "Flowingoak has been kind to me, bringing me on patrols. But I want to have a real mission." She sighed. "But I probably have to train first. Learn to fight. I'm still a beginner, even in apprenticeship."
