Peakclan's Promise :: A Warrior Cats Roleplay (OPEN!!)

Posted 2021-04-20 07:43:21

Roughthroat | Lakeclan Deputy | Location: Lakeclan Camp | Mentions: Sharpscar, Waspwatcher, Brownclaw

At his call, three individuals stepped out to join him in the rain - the steadfast warriors Sharpscar and Brownclaw, and the beloved medicine cat Waspwatcher. Roughthroat knew that Sharpscar was aging, and Brownclaw held more of the proclivity for curing than fighting in his paws, but to see them stand together before him he felt a swell of pride in his chest. These toms were the lifeblood of Lakeclan, and they carried the reputation and honor of their ancestors on their shoulders. You have to stop getting so kit-soft, this is just a patrol for Starclan's sake.

"Thank you for joining me," Roughthroat began, and the moisture in the air only served to make his meow more jagged, as if he'd been eating tree bark. "We'll be heading to the river that borders Lakeclan and Peakclan - there's been some strange paw-prints on the bank, and I think it deserves some investigation. Brownclaw, we would appreciate your company as well, just in case the tracks belong to a predator." He was glad the Siamese tom spoke up - it would be good to have some young blood in their rank.

He turned and began padding out of camp, treading perhaps a bit quicker than he meant to in order to keep his large white paws out of the gathering puddles. As he passed Waspwatcher Roughthroat gave the medicine cat a respectful bow of his head. "Whatever you need, wise Waspwatcher." The deputy flicked his tail and continued on, hoping the toms would follow quickly at his heels - it would be a lengthy trip.

Sharpscar / Lakeclan Warrior / Location: Lakeclan's Campsite > Lakeclan Territory / Mentions: Roughthroat, Waspwatcher, and Brownclaw

As he felt Roughthroat's gaze sweep his scarred pelt, he held a stone-like face. While he felt Roughthroat would supposedly be proud of him, he had no reason to feel he needed to show to be proud of himself. He nodded his head at Roughthroat's thankful words, though noted the more ragged and tired tone, comparable to tree bark or thorns, flowing through his ears. Perhaps the Deputy felt slightly sickly? He would make sure to keep an eye out for such behavior in this wet weather. He hoped Waspwatcher also caught on that such cold and wet weather could cause sickness, but if he didn't, he had his own eye out to survey the clan.

"I'm praying to Starclan those rock-dwellers haven't decided their too good to respect our border, especially during a war.."

He said with a hiss, shaking his head in annoyance. Turning to where Roughthroat had begun to pad, he looked at Brownclaw, a reassuring flicker in his blue gaze before he treaded on, quickening even faster than Roughthroat compared to his old pace, to hopefully keep up and avoid being left behind. Flicking a respectful tail to Waspwatcher, he continued after the Deputy, swiftly padding after, leaping over puddles and around low trees. He very well knew of the lengthy trip, he just hoped youngin' Brownclaw would keep up with much trouble.

Brownclaw / Lakeclan Warrior / Location: Lakeclan's Campsite > Lakeclan Territory / Mentions: Roughthroat, Sharpscar

Brownclaw overheard Sharpscar muttering to himself, "I'm praying to Starclan those rock-dwellers haven't decided they're too good to respect our border, especially during a war..."

The young, light brown cat shivered at the thought of a border invasion. Though he had trained as a warrior he had never been in true combat, not with cats from another clan. The thought terrified him.

He hesitated, then hastened to catch up with Roughthroat and Sharpscar, falling into place beside Sharpscar as they followed their deputy.

"I hope the other clans are respecting our borders," Brownclaw said quietly to Sharpscar, his fur standing on end with trepidation of the alternative.

Ivycry // Location: Oakclan Camp // Mentions: Rainflower, Flowingoak

Ivycry turned her head to look at Rainflower, and agreed with a soft nod of her head. "Of course. I'd love to help out." She murmured, before turning her muzzle to look back at Flowingoak. 'No point worrying about the border situation. I'm sure they have it all under control.'

Smiling warmly at the medicine cat, she dipped her head. "Lead the way, I'll follow you."

Rainflower // OakClan Camp, Medicine Cat Den // Mentions: Ivycry

Rainflower dipped her head in a nod before disappearing into her den. She emerged, the herbs that were in her mouth gone. "Let's go," She murmured, lightly trotting out of the camp. She pointed at some berries. "Deathberries," She said softly. "Don't eat them. You'll die in seconds." She moved on. "These are good herbs," She said, picking a clump of catnip. She dug up some poppy. "Poppy seeds dull pain. Catnip helps numb wounds. Why don't you go look for some cobwebs? They're good for dressing wounds."

FLOWINGOAK // LOCATION: OAKCLAN CAMP// MENTIONS: RAINFLOWER, IVYCRY, EVENINGPAW

Flowingoak smiled softly at Eveningpaw as she retreated into the apprentice's den, and he watched Rainflower and Ivycry start off on their journey that may or may not take a long time.

The large tom checked in with a few of his clanmates, making sure there were no complaints or such. He put together a small hunting party and asked if they would stay away from Lakeclan's border since he didn't want Oakclan scent to be too strong there. Then, they'd get suspicious.

After they left, he leapt up into his lower hollow in the large tree he and Leafstar shared with one another. Curling his tail against his flank, he laid down, allowing his forepaws to hang over the edge of the hollow.

Ivycry // Location: Oakclan Territory // Mentions: Rainflower

Thanks to Ivycry's long legs and lithe figure, she had no trouble keeping up with Rainflower. Her eyes wandered over the herbs that the medicine cat had pointed out, her eyes shining with curiosity. 'Deathberries... Such a beautiful colour of berry, yet so deadly. So tiny, too. It would be very easy for someone to misuse them.' She noted to herself. A shudder ran down her spine.

Ivycry remained silent, feeling somewhat nervous to initiate a conversation with a cat she hadn't talked to much before. She was about to speak, when she was asked to get cobwebs. Surprised yet somewhat relieved, she nodded politely and scampered off to find a hollow in a tree.

After a bit of wandering around, she stumbled across exactly what she had been looking for; except, she had forgotten to ask how to collect it. She gingerly dipped her paw in and grabbed a swab of the sticky, stringy web, grimacing at how it clumped to her fur. Was she... meant to hop back to Rainflower like this?

Rainflower // OakClan Territory // Mentions: Ivycry

Rainflower picked the rest of the herbs and tracked Ivycry's scent to a nearby tree, where her paw was coated in cobwebs. Rainflower carefully unravelled her paw and dropped it on the floor, rolled into a ball. "Carry it carefully," She murmured, picking up the herbs she'd picked. "In your mouth."

Ivycry // Location: Oakclan Territory // Mentions: Rainflower

Ivycry grasped the ball ever so gently with her teeth and tried to ignore the odd taste it left in her mouth. "Ith feefs weid." (It feels weird), came her muffled mew. How did the medicine cat do this repeatedly? The warrior was now even more glad she'd gone down the path she'd chosen.

She tried to adjust the ball in her mouth so that it would be easier to speak, but alas she had no such luck. She gave up eventually, before she turned back to Rainflower. "Ithis aww you neev?" (Is this all you need?)

Rainflower // OakClan Territory // Mentions: Ivycry

Rainflower studied Ivycry with something like amusement. "Yes, that's all I need for now," She purred, tail swishing. "Let's get back to camp. You may want to wash your mouth out when we get home." She trotted back to her den, dropping the herbs on the floor. "Leave the cobwebs here, and go wash your mouth with water from the lake."
