Update: things are so much better now that winter is over

Yeah I'm pulling in food pretty easily now. I think winter's modifier could be eased a little bit, but it wasn't totally unsurvivable. Especially if you play slots every once in a while - the carcass reward from that could make a huge dent in a day's need

Really glad that it's better for folks now that winter is over.

While I didn't personally have any problems with food before or after the change, I hope that the anxiety lots of people expressed will result in this kind of change not happening right before winter again. In future, hopefully any changes to hunting mechanics should maybe only happen in spring and summer, so that people have enough time to see how it impacts them. In fall I assume people are trying to stockpile (if possible) for winter, and it doesn't give as much time to figure out if you're going to take a huge hit.

My hunters are doing fine now, so I think winter was just harder than usual. For me there was a temporary 25-30% reduction in hunting success depending on trail size.

I’m also doing much better with spring, so it appears that winter was definitely made more difficult. There were multiple days where I sent out about 15 hunts, only for small or critter trails, and got maybe 5 back on my best day, which would only equate to maybe 10 uses of food, since more critter trails are nearly always Stoats.

but. Now that it is spring I am recovering, thankfully. Baffled that my team with lower stated wolves has higher success percentages, despite both teams being 100/100, but overall handling better. 

Glacier is the WORST for food because of those stoats... Everywhere else critter trails are 4 use items but man not glacier

When is this event supposed to happen?

The only info we have is "February", so it's gotta be soon. They did warn it wouldn't be a whole-month event but we're KINDA RUNNING OUT OF FEBRUARY

Maybe the event will run a bit into March? I am extremely excited for it to start but yeah, ~1 week is very short, even for a mini event! XD
