please don’t integrate karma! (addendum: at least not how exists in LD)

Support, a lot of people have explained why better than I could, but I also want to again bring up the fact that you can’t even have a good and a bad lead like you can on Lioden with the whole two accounts thing. If they’re against letting us have a second account, why put in a system that ties to the idea of having two accounts for the two play styles?

It makes since to have karma on wolvden, just hope it's not too much like lioden's. Also even though having two accounts would allow you to be both "good" and "bad." I hope they never allow 2nd accounts.

I'd rather not have karma at all - it doesn't really fit with the wolf theme, in my opinion. Nature is neutral, not good or evil.

I would just prefer it be something you can opt out of, that way if you don't want to do it, you don't have to and the people like me who enjoy the possibility of extra interactions and whatever comes with those interactions can do so

Im not a huge fan of the good/evil karma system in general so I support this. Maybe if the scales were some thing other than good/evil, like friendly/stoic/romp/aggro that would be better.

I like that idea, Meesh! Personalities do nothing in WD other than affect hunting parties. Giving them a "karma" effect would be nice. Not sure how it would work gameplay-wise.

Support!

Karma is really restricting and I do not want Wolvden to become identical to Lioden, both are different games and while sharing some features should not share every feature. I enjoy being able to pick any option I want while exploring and not having to worry about picking an undesirable outcome based on karma.

Support from me as well!

I know from Lioden how stressful it is to maintain the kind of role I set for my pack, especially in explores. I do not need this. I do not WANT this. It's the one thing I disliked the most about Lioden and seeing talk about including it in Wolvden as well irritates the heck out of me.

I don't know how karma works in LD but I have some serious misgivings about how it would work in this game. Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I kind of envision one karma bar that goes up or down depending on what you do, and then if you have either really high or really low karma then different things can happen? And you get good boy and bad boy points for doing different things, but especially here in Wolf Game the things that count as 'good' or 'bad' seem pretty arbitrary? Like, take for instance the desert encounter with the tortoise. I assume the 'good' option would be to protect and get the condor feather, bad option would be to kill and get the shell and neutral would be follow. (If I"m remembering the options right) But in a game where killing other animals is necessary and good, it would be stupid for the kill option to be 'bad'. Obviously that's just an example, but I"m worried that that is what to expect from the karma system.

As I mentioned above, I am also worried that the good and bad points would be on the same bar, which is common, but a terrible decision. To paraphrase Yahtzee Croshaw, this basically encourages people to be either Jesus or Hitler in order to get the best benefits of either goodness or badness. There is really no room for a grey area, so I think good and bad should be measured on separate meters.

Agree with Meesh's suggestion. I am not a huge fan of binary good/evil systems outside of certain contexts. Something like the personalities being integrated into the lead would be more interesting to me. The binary systems are too simple and restrictive from a roleplay perspective.
