How To Check For Albino/Melanism Carriers

Posted 2020-12-08 01:30:43

You can only scry on adult wolves, anything below 1 year is un-scryable so you would need to hold onto the pup until it ages up to be able to check.

If his mother was a carrier then yes, but if not then no your pup is not a carrier.

You could maybe scry his mother to ID #4724 to see if she's a carrier.

Solar that's not true. If you breed a carrier/mutie to a non carrier the pup has a 10% chance of being a carrier.

(10% if bred to a carrier, ??% if bred to a mutie, don't remember the %)

Im saying if the mother is not a carrier then there is no way that the pup is a carrier because the father is not a carrier

its 15% I believe))

Hey guys, if you need help identifying melanism from pups that have everything black - nose, base, claws, skin and all, try changing this pup from melanism and not. You'll notice the black nose and skin get even darker alongside the base.

Having this on another tab as you scry may help you! If you see a possible melanism, just open up this tab and see if it shares the same exact shade of black as the melanism!

EDIT: If someone could post pictures of the two side by side that'd be great!

Does anyone know any wolf that is both melanism and albinism carrier?

I don't think it exists at the moment, but some of the breeders are already working on it! :)

If we breed an albino x a melanism, could the pup has a chance to carry both genes?
