Fleas should give the plague

Posted 2020-11-16 19:06:29

No support, at least not right now.

The reason a lot of people are allowing their wolves to keep fleas, as I see it, is because the illness system is kind of busted and it just isn't worth it to heal them so they can catch something worse two days later. If/when its tweaked to be less punishing, I'd for sure be interested in a greater variety of illnesses, and especially in illnesses that can further develop into worse ones, because this honestly sounds like a wicked cool concept! For now, though? I feel the illness system needs significant tweaks before I want to see that kind of thing introduced ;u;

@ [1530]

Thanks for the support! A slow increase would be cool. The wolves could get worse and worse while the art has more and more fleas/swellings added to it.

@ [4068]

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. The illness system definitely needs some changes ^^;;
Thanks for your input!

Illness system as it is atm really depends on your luck and RNG, I haven't had any trouble with it. My wolves don't get sick too often.

But there still needs to be something to tweak the fleas exploit. I like the idea of it having a chance to get worse, but even changing fleas just a bit to give more HP loss at every RO if it doesn't get healed could help with the situation.

Support for some sort of change.

Honestly illnesses/injuries aren't so bad* unless the RNG decides to give you a couple bad days. Exploiting a 'lesser' malady to avoid worse issues is just silly and broken, it should be fixed.

*(after the open wound tweak to hunting on the 9th, it was absurd before that. I'd be dealing with 4-7 open wounds a day so I can see why people started using fleas to make their wolves immune. Since then I've only had 1-3 diseases a day which is completely manageable.

I support, mostly because allowing all your wolves to get fleas to prevent other illnesses seems like an exploit that should be discouraged. Whether that's by having fleas cause other illnesses or by making having fleas more harmful in itself, I don't mind.

Support.

Admins were already informed about the fleas loophole thing. And they are already working on a way to prevent that. There is no ETA but in the future I imagine they will do some changes to illnesses in general so that exploits like this can't happen again.

I would prefer to see something like your idea on every illness, like the more days you don't cure them, the worse they get, since I'm afraid people could still find another illness to exploit once they can't use fleas anymore.

No support least for right now like Closet said

I feel like the general sickness system needs a tad more tweaking before we go ahead and throw more illnesses in-game especially ones that get more serious over time and maybe some adjustments to Herbalist as well since Profencincy doesn't seem to do anything for them currently least from what I've noticed

This is off-topic but in case you weren't aware, the more proficient your herbalist, the cheaper diagnosis becomes, till it becomes free at 80%.

@Coal

Yeah I am aware but even then that's little to nothing since previously I believe the full price is something like 30-20SC and lowers to nothing but even then you the player are able to easily tell what an open wound is but your forced to diagnose it

sorry if this came off as rude didn't intend for it to be like that

Scratching can also lead to open wounds, and then infections, so... I'm all for it. Fleas do stuff. Have some nifty rolls upon rollover to see which side effect they cause.
