-Combat overhaul:

I'm noticing that RNG seems to be the only factor during combat encounters in explore. A wolf's level, stats, and experience, should feel meaningful. A level 1 creature shouldn't be able to absolutely decimate a level 15 wolf, it defies logic, and is incredibly frustrating. So here's an idea: scale battle encounters to be within a certain threshold of your lead wolf's level. Only enemies between levels 1-9 will appear for Lead wolves in the 1-5 range. The higher ones would be risky, and not show up as often, but would of course give a much nicer exp boost than the lower or at-level encounters. It would scale similarly for higher level wolves, as well, so that a level 15 wolf can only encounter enemies between levels 10 and 18, for example. These numbers aren't exact, I'm just trying to illustrate the general idea.

I agree with this to some degree.

There is absolutely, no reason to have FULL my HP destroyed by a level 4 pack of wolves and lose the battle when I am level 13.

There should be no reason a level 6 eagle should be able to wipe out my FULL HP completely and win a battle against my level 13 wolf.

There should be NO REASON to lose to a level 3 whitetail when I am at full HP and level 13.

The battle system is horrible.  Ive spent 20 health items trying to win battles, seeking low level encounters, yet I still lose.  Its not even skill based, its complete RNG.

If RNG is a must, then give a preference to higher level Alphas.  Anything is better than losing fight after fight because of stupid dice rolls.

I'm bench sitting the situation but I feel that the game is more realistic the in regards to random level encounters, I mean, realistically a wolf is more likely to encounter a foe that can tear it apart

But I do find it annoying to skip out on so many battles...

stats do have effects on battles, u get +1s to things like focus when ur smart and chase when youre fast and lunge when ur strong

also, i heard early on they planned to do a skill tree thing eventually so thats probably gonna come....just in the slow as fuck fashion that wolvden does

I managed to get a better stat leader than my first wolf. -Im level 15 And yet still I can get my butt pwned by a level 3 eagle. Make that make sense?
Basically just clicking around buttons to win pretty much.
(Recent update: I had a battle with a lvl 15 charged eagle. I am level 16, used a lucky foot and had FULL energy - I still got whooped with the bird having 27/40hp left (thats alot for a battle). The DIRECT next battle was with a level was a level 20 charged bear. I beat it without a sweat. - The battling system doesnt make sense or logic to me.
