**Remove** ALTER Mandatory Minimum for Stud Service | BIG POST UPDATE

Posted 2020-11-12 15:03:18
Support BIG time. I currently have my stud up and I really don't think he is worth the minimum price, but I am terrified of working with refunds in case I somehow get scammed.

The current system is just bad. The 10 SC per marking doesn't take into account the rarity or popularity of markings. Just let people set their own prices. The economy is still young and it's setting itself up, having this is just making it wonkier with refunds and such.

I don't see any reason for the minimum pricing! It just makes it more difficult to afford studding.

It's especially useless since so many studs circumvent it. Why not just remove it entirely- it's not well-received, it is a hinderance to players.

I personally don't see any reason for the minimum pricing either. I tend to see more people offering refunds than not, with a vast majority of players studding their males for 75-150 SC. So perhaps, if there has to be a minimum, it should be lowered to maybe 50 SC, no matter the amount of markings/rarities/etc.

Quite honestly, I actually don't see the harm in someone wanting to stud their male for free. Like, if a player was just in it for the "roll" of the pups, and not in it for the profit whatsoever, why would that be detrimental? I imagine it's something of an economic issue, but with a lot of the economy being at the trading post/the grove, would it really be that harmful?

I definitely support the more dynamic pricing described!

Support! I do stud refunds and it can be a hassle to track down the ID of the person who paid in SC to set up a private trade.

Big support.  Having a base price, and especially such a high one, causes studding to be unreasonably expensive and limits peoples' ability to compete by pricing competitively against similar studs.

I agree with #2874. I dislike that my wolf being high stat, tier two, and special marked, is prices the same to a tier 1 starter. I feel like it takes value away to studding, especially when so many are offering the refunds. Yes sc prices and gc prices will increase eventually but it is still an issue.

Personally, I don't see any reason to add limitations when it comes to studding as a whole, some people might say it's to "preserve markings/bases" I disagree mostly due to the fact that they're gonna be bred regardless of how much it is heck right now a bypass of the huge SC price tag would be to use GC and most studs price their studs at 1-3GC even then overtime markings/bases will lose popularity when new ones release so, in turn, those markings/bases will die off slowly because they are no longer the main focus of the community that or they're bred to the point the community ends up hating them I remember how people used to love the Cheetah marking in lioden only for it to get literally everywhere heck that's happening to Merle too and people will eventually start avoiding it as if it's the plague

Even then like some people mentioned in this thread the SC limit is being undercut either way as people are willing to do refunds which is another issue entirely because that's pretty much a trust base issue it only takes one bad egg to ruin the bunch

Support! I actually kind of enjoy the minimum, so I wouldn't want to see it totally removed, but it can definitely use some adjusting.
