**Remove** ALTER Mandatory Minimum for Stud Service | BIG POST UPDATE

Posted 2020-11-06 05:46:51

support too. i dont make any income on my lead being open for studding (i never planned to, at least, so it isnt a problem for me) but he is at the absolute LOWEST he can be, 1 gc or 200 sc, simply because hes got 10 markings. honestly? if i could i would set his price at 50 sc. a forced minimum does nothing good for the stud market-- it just slows it down or stops it entirely. an alternative fix would be making sc WAY more common, but thats even less likely to happen tbh

Support. The current system doesn't make any sense to me unless the idea behind it was to somehow discourage breeding to avoid mass breeding or something...and we can all see how well that's working, lol. If studding is going to be an allowed thing, I think it should be an open market with pricing set however players prefer. While my preference would be no minimum prices and no maximum prices, trusting that the market will eventually settle out on an acceptable price range, I can see that some people would just prefer it to be lowered slightly. I guess that would be better than it is presently, but I'm still putting my vote in for no price setting by devs. It's kind of a weird thing to worry about.

Edit to add: initially upon starting the game my plan was to not even set a breeding male until I had a male I would be happy with long term. I was going to breed using studs only. Then I discovered how insanely expensive they are and bought exactly one studding, since I was out of time on a girls heat...and went out and bought a nice (and nice and OLD, so he will retire sooner than later) chased female with 10 marks and sex changed her. Now all of my females breed to him, not to any studs. Because that was cheaper and easier. I suspect the same thing will happen with many players. Why buy studs when the system forces prices so high that players who really need those studs can't afford it?

I agree with this idea. I think this makes sense. If we're choosing to set our males for breeding we should be able to control the price completely, even if it means lowering it more than what is "suggested."

I totally support this. Trying to pay for breeding projects with the price minimum right now is crazy expensive (I get currency just through in game stuff, no extra purchasing), and even though I have my main breeding male I like to bring in other bloodlines to my pack. I don't mind a minimum, but I definitely think it needs to be set at a more reasonable price.

Support!

My big problem with this is just that my wolf just isn't worth 200 sc so I feel like I have to refund. SC isn't impossible to get, but it's work and my customized wolf is worth 200 sc and for sure my starter wolf was not worth 130 sc!

I agree - the mandatory pricing is not the most balanced when it comes to more "rare" markings/bases. I think it is weird that a starter wolf would be priced the same as an RMA wolf just because they have the same amount of markings.

I support this idea 100%. At first, I found the refunding system to be annoying as heck, so I tried to avoid it altogether and just charge the recommended 200 SC for my stud. However, as he was my starter that I customized, his stats were low at first so hardly anybody wanted to pay that money for him. So, eventually, I succumbed to my need for an income and decided to start refunding which has become very frustrating. Like OP said, I have also encountered the issue of not being able to find the wolf who I had just bred my stud with and therefore was unable to actually refund. Every time I receive a stud request, I have to repeat the account number out loud to myself over and over until I'm able to get to the trading center as quickly as possible and create the trade, or else the refund just won't happen. The minimum stud price system is a system in which hardly anyone uses because of the ability to refund, so I really don't see why it has to exist.

Mandatory prices make no sense the moment you can circumvent them. And people do that here as a rule - not an exemption. Thus I wholeheartedly agree with making it a suggestion instead.

Support! Refunding all the time sucks and min definitely doesn’t represent current market trends
