I make weird noises and translate them into names.

I find an character trait or something about their physical appearance and name them after something that comes to mind, if what comes to mind isn't the best sort of name.
For example I have a light red wolf that reminds me of a strawberry, I looked up translations of it or words that mean the same thing and work with some word play or make something that resembles a name, I ended up with Caomei which is apparently Chinese for strawberry, and is a cute name.
Not many of my current wolves have this sort of naming, but another example is my wolf Kenuku, he's based on an OC of mine which i made a few years back, but the name was from tossing 'prince' into google translate and translating to different languages until I got something I could work with, eventually I translated it into Mongolian I think and ended up with khankhüü, I simplified it to 'Kankuu" and wiggled some letters around to get Kenuku!

I name my wolves Warrior style as well. For example, when my wolf is a pup, her name is Ravenpup. When she grows to apprentice, her name changes to Ravenpaw. When she grows to adulthood, I picked a random suffix (dusk) and if she becomes leader, I will change her name to Ravenstar.

I do like the warriors naming scheme because it's so formulaic and orderly.

But I just name my wolves normal names- mostly human names from various languages/cultures, occasionally a name more suited for animals like I have a Possum and a Starlight currently.  A lot of names after movie, tv, and book characters too.

- Pups after the same theme as their parents
- Chased & bought wolves after their initial pack's naming scheme

- After book/movie characters (e.g. Inej from Six of Crows)
- After plants/elements/other natural themes
- After folklore/cultural figures
- After conlangs
- After my own in-development conlang
- After memes (e.g. Nugget from "my name is Nugget, I'm a big fat chicken!")
- Other random names that sound or look about right

I use a name generator that gives me a first and middle name, and tells me what the name means. The generator I use has multiple countries for name types, including fantasy names such a fairy or dragon names. I just pick a style of name I'm looking for and generate names until I get one I like.

I name my wolves using words in Old Germanic and Celtic languages or old spellings of Irish names prior to their anglicisation.

Or, if I'm not feeling inspired enough/don't have the energy for that, I use this list of Nord names and this list of Reachman names from the Elder Scrolls series lol
