my leads are all based on OCs I've carried with me for years, although I do make new spins on them. the NBWs I keep are typically named in a fashion that suits my current lead's lore (for example, Salvatore's NBWs were all Italian names, like his own), and then their children are derivatives of their own names. if there isn't any clear link to my lead, I'll typically decide on a culture for them all to link to and then explore sites like Behind the Name for meanings that resonate with me. I also try to adhere to naming conventions for parents of wolves I've bought whenever possible. sometimes it doesn't work out, but I do enjoy carrying the lore through from their origins whenever possible. ♥ |
