I have almost a full agency now. This event scratches my brain in the right way, just comparing stuff, matching up wolves, sending them off, working through them....
But I'm struggling to get more wolves, and whilst my agency is almost full almost none of the wolves would make a good match. Without spoilers to the story, is there any way to get more wolves aside from when the matchmaker brings them to you?

One more thing... is the story time gated? I accidentally missed four days of the event. I did log on Valentine's day, but then I logged off and just ugh >.< I assumed the news post that day was about a Valentine's event, but I didn't see any event (I skimmed over the post >.<) so I just... logged off and forgot about it.

TLDR: Stress. Any way to get through the event faster, without spoilers? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can get more wolves aside from checking for one each hour and the ones the matchmaker brings you. You can ask wolves to leave your agency though, so if none of them are working out you can ask a few to leave to clear up space.

As far as I know the story isn't time gated but I may be wrong. I do know that the matchmaker will give you a quest 9for me it was defeat 4 deer/muskox and defeat 6 coyotes) once you reach a certain number of matched wolves and dates you've been on.  There's also the Grouse House Guide which might help you out, at least with going on dates!

@Nellie  I've only had 1 wolf that didn't like any other wolves, so after 3 dates I encouraged her to go walk around for a bit.
I've matched all my wolves since, even the ones that immediately display "They have nothing in common".

Here's what I'm doing:

  • Check their symbols first

  • Check their Likes list for the same Biome, or in the case of no overlap I've sent a pair to the Swamp even though neither Liked it, but 1 Liked the Riparian & the other Liked the Rainforest, so both were comfortable in Swamp. Both gave a +1 on their date results for the setting. +2pts can make a difference.
When there is overlap send them to the Biome they both Like. That will give a +2 each so you're 4pts toward a match just for setting the date in an area they already like.

  • Check what they like for Gifts. When you see the items on the pull-down menu under each wolf it displays what they Liked or Disliked. If you have any Remnants Buried drag'em out & Craft decor to Gift. Keep Arnica or Tansy for the ones that Like herbs. For the ones that Like Lore choose the flowers or gemstones you have in abundance, because those may play a larger role later in the Event.

Doing this with each Date I've Matched a +1 Date couple & they tipped me 2LBs. I've also Matched a +10 couple & they tipped me 3LBs.

Hope this helps you make more matches so you're not stressed out.

Aaa I'm not dating but thank you! My wolf has a mate so it feels... weird... to have him date. Especially since he tried SO hard for AGES to get a mate, and now he's finally got one. I wish this event was when he was looking for a mate lol, that'd make perfect sense in his lore!! oh gosh, that just makes me wish there was more interaction between wolves... mates could go on cute dates!!

Also, I wasn't aware you could match up wolves that actually had nothing in common! I thought you had to only match up those that really, REALLY liked each other... But I also didn't know that the wolves would both give a point to neutral surroundings. Thank you so much aaaaa >.< This really, really means a lot!!!

@Nellie  I'm not into Dating for my Lead either. but I got bored waiting out the hour until I could check for an Applicant, so I tried it. It's terribly expensive because you have no clue about them. I'm not willing to empty my Hoard just to relieve boredom waiting.
Don't think the wolf our Lead Matches with is even available to add to our pack if we wanted to, so that's another big Nope for me ransacking my Hoard.

Your replies were fine. Don't worry about saying more.
I simply wanted to share what I've learned.

Thank you so much!
And yeah, that's another thing I learned; you don't get to keep the wolves. So all those meaningful connections you made for a potential made? Gone :') Just gone :')
Don't get me wrong, it seems fun! I know lots of people like it. But still, it's not for me heh. It just feels so weird to have Marcus having looked for a mate for so long, finally getting a mate (which in his lore is basically his only heart's desire) and then be like 'yknow what? I'm going to go date :D' with how much mates mean to him. It's literally almost all he thinks about... I-in a cute way. As in, he walks in explore, he misses her. He walks past a flower, oh she'd like that let's pick the flower. He gets a scar, cool I can tell a cool story and impress her!
