The Alhavenlan Pack // End of Season Report
The Alhavenlan Pack is clearly struggling at the end of autumn. Prey has been scarce and they're also mourning the loss of Dheamanras, one of Seranni's pups that was born at the start of the second month of autumn. Now the pack braces themselves for a harsh winter with hardly any food in their bellies and two young pups to care for as well.
Pack Events

  • Seranni has a litter of 3 pups in the first week of the second month.
  • Elgadir, Shebrasa, Rasha, Irosylis, and Eshalinev all retire from their hunting roles.
  • Sulenera, Vunlea, and Alifalon all fill the empty chasing roles in Team 1 with Radhmael taking up the finisher role for Team 2.
  • Eirlen leaves the pack on the brink of starvation.
  • Seranni's den site was discovered by a pack of coyotes and one managed to slip past their defenses, killing young Dheamanras. Rest in peace, young pup.
  • The lone wolf that the pack has been hunting alongside for two seasons now has been keeping a fair amount of space between himself in the pack. It remains unclear if Sileal will make another attempt at joining the pack after seeing just how poorly things are going for them.
Wolf Sightings

  • Lone Wolf Sightings
    • A lone gray and cream colored wolf can be seen hunting alongside Team 1's hunters.
    • Coyote yips and territorial howls can be heard throughout the Tundra.

Pack Research Report
August 30th - September 4th, 2023

3 Month Overview for Autumn

It is shocking to see just how terribly things can go for this pack in just one bad week. The wolves were looking quite well off and happy at the start of this season and as autumn comes to an end, nearly every wolf is borderline starving. They're also very clearly mourning the loss of one of the alpha's pups, Dheamanras. I can hear their sorrowful howls each night since the passing.

However, the pack's hunting habits have been terrible as of late. 3 yearlings took over the chaser positions within Team 1 and another yearling took over Irosylis's finisher position on Team 2. Neither hunting teams have been capable of hunting much since this shift happened and I fear for the pack's survival this winter.

Speaking of winter, it is fast approaching and I'm unsure if Seranni's early litter of pups will make it through the harsh weather. They've already lost one to a coyote attack and I'm worried she may loose the rest due to starvation or inclement weather. The majority of the pack may also starve this winter as well given how scrawny they all are right now. I can only hope these young hunters will pull themselves together before winter truly hits but I have very low hopes of any hunting being successful in the coming months. My crew and I wish the Alhavenlan Pack the best of luck for the winter and I seriously hope some of the wolves will make it to see another spring.

The Alhavenlan Pack // End of Season Report
The situation with the Alhavenlan Pack is still rather dire. All of the wolves have been fighting over the smallest scrap of food and nearly every wolf within the pack is looking for the right moment to leave. The pack had ranged further than they ever did before this winter and the majority of them remained away from the den site, leaving Seranni and Irosylis as the only ones to bring food to the pups if there was any to spare.
Pack Events

  • Elgadir, Eshalinev, Haleira, and Rasha all leave the pack on the edge of starvation in search of food.
  • The pups are finally brought back to the rest of the pack although Seranni has been keeping them a safe distance from the other adults.
  • Tensions are high within the pack and no wolf is safe from a fight at this current point in time. All wolves are borderline starving and fighting any chance they get for a single chunk of meat.
Wolf Sightings

  • Lone Wolf Sightings
    • Sileal can still be seen milling about the edges of the pack's current location although he seems unsure if he'll be allowed to approach. He has yet to make another attempt at rejoining the pack.

Pack Research Report
September 5th - 10th, 2023

3 Month Overview for Season

Things continue to go downhill for the Alhavenlan Pack. We've been observing the pack fighting over any amount of food they find buried in the snow and we just have never seen the pack this hungry before. Their hunts continue to go poorly and the yearlings are doing their best to aid the existing hunting teams as the finishers continuously miss the finishing blow, allowing the prey an opportunity to escape. I sincerely hope this pack will be able to be recover this spring but with how things look right now, I expect the pack to continue to loose members. Spring always brings new opportunities to desperate wolves after all.

Moving on to other pack news now, it looks like Seranni had allowed the pack to move away from the den site this winter and only allowed herself and Irosylis to go near it. Most likely to avoid other predators finding it until the pups were big enough to rejoin the pack. Thankfully, later this winter they've rejoined the pack although Seranni appears to be cautious. She's been keeping them back away from the other adults and only Seranni's older pups have been allowed to approach so far.

However, that appears to be all for now. Like I had said before, I seriously hope that the pack will be able to properly recover this spring but my hopes are low as I can tell just how poorly this pack is doing this winter. Nearly every wolf is scrawny and scrounging for any sort of resource in this harsh weather. My crew and I will keep the pack in our thoughts as spring arrives however and I hope you all will as well.

Pack Research Report
September 23rd - 28th, 2023

3 Month Overview for Season

Just like that, we see another autumn pass here in the Tundra. I just wanted to apologize for the lack of research reports as of late! I've been rather busy writing for other projects of mine and have placed these on a bit of a back burner so to speak. I hope you all understand!

Anyways, the Alhavenlan Pack is still in a bit of a hard spot as they never made a proper recovery from their terrible hunting luck back in spring. We've now observed a couple more wolves just leave in an attempt to find food and never return. My crew and I seriously wish these wolves the best of luck however as winter approaches finally. I can already tell that this is going to be yet another hard winter for them all and it's only going to make the food scarcity worse for them. I fully expect this pack to be half its size come spring, if not worse. I just hope this new pair of alphas can lead the pack well enough so they can see another spring and potentially have a new litter of pups to boost their numbers again sometime soon.

Pack Research Report
September 29th - October 4th, 2023

3 Month Overview for Winter

This winter was surprisingly merciful on the Alhavenlan Pack this year around! Most of the pack is looking much better than they were going into winter. Leena, the pack's newest alpha female, seems to be expecting a new litter of pups this spring as well so things are definitely looking up for them all!

It warms my heart to see the pack make a slight recovery after having such terrible luck at hunting and I can only expect things will get better for them now that they've all moved back into the Taiga! Late tonight we observed them charging past my crew at Research Camp Alpha and they took on their longstanding rivals within the Taiga. Thankfully no wolves were injured in this scrap but it seems like the Alhavenlan Pack managed to drive the enemies out and have reclaimed the forest for themselves.

Additonally, the pack's resident lone wolf Sileal seems to have returned to the pack after stumbling across them in the Taiga and he's even been hunting alongside Team 1 again! Shockingly enough, he's also made a few clumsy attempts at reintroducing himself to the pack but unfortunately alpha Leena is not having any of it right now. Which is to be expected after all! She's having a litter of pups soon come spring and has only just claimed a den for them.

But, I cannot wait to see what else this year brings for the pack as they enter a new chapter within the Taiga and I hope you all are looking forward to it as well! Until next time, folks!

Pack Research Report
October 5th - 10th, 2023

3 Month Overview for Season

Well, I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the pack this season! Not only did they recover amazingly from the brink of starvation but now I see that there has been two new litters of pups. Leena has had her own two and Sabrae, Team 2's stalker, has welcomed another two pups into the Alhavenlan Pack.

Unfortunately, it does seem like Leena ran into some complications with her litter as my crew and I observed her removing two small stillborn pups out of the den. The other two pups she had are doing well and are looking quite strong now though! We've named the female pup that's almost completely white Idrilla and her slightly smaller brother has been named Mahanon! I cannot wait to see these little ones grow up and start hunting however. All of this new blood for the pack will do them good as quite a few hunters on Team 2 are getting up there in age, alphas included.

Speaking of hunting, both hunting teams have been doing amazingly although Team 2 continues to be the main food providers for the pack. However, thanks to Team 2's success the pack has had full bellies all spring and I can only hope that they will continue this for the rest of the year! Team 1 has only been hunting when the younger wolves were unable to get enough food. But still, it's an uncommon sight for myself to see the pack this well off after watching them struggle in the Tundra for so long.

Additonally, it seems like we may also have a small Distemper outbreak. Sabrae was showing signs a month ago and it has since cleared up as of writing this but it has sadly spread to one of her own pups. I sincerely hope the pup will be able to pull through and I'll be keeping a close eye on the pack as we enter Summer! But I believe that is all for now! I'll be keeping young Lauma in my thoughts and hope the young pup makes a quick recovery soon.

Pack Research Report
October 11th - 16th, 2023

3 Month Overview for Season

Well, this was certainly an unexpected turn for the pack. Things appear to have gone rather poorly for them all and very few wolves have managed to eat their fill. I worry to see how this autumn will turn out for the pack but I have high hopes they'll fair better here than in the Tundra. Most herds seem to winter here so they might have some luck soon! Whenever they track down the herds that is.

Thankfully, summer has been relatively quiet for them all and I can only hope it stays that way. I'll be keeping a close eye on things however as we enter autumn as always. Until the next report folks!
