⎯⎯ ୨ Vylxaris Naïlo ୧ ⎯⎯

She made a skeptical noise, though she gave no words to it. "If we're going, let's go now. I don't want to bring trekking these roads at night. Not with monsters around." Her green eyes scanned the green-over-green of the forest, wondering what was lurking out there.

"Maybe our lovely employers will be there." She didn't sound particularly enthused about this.

Unless they're dead. Mmm, that would be...upsetting. I only came into this because there was money involved. Vyl stood, brushing off her pants. As she waited, Vyl's hand slipped into her bag to fiddle with her Druidic Focus, a spring of holly. Would be nice to sleep in an inn for once. It's been awhile.

Info:

The frontier town of Phandalin is built on the ruins of a much older settlement. Hundreds of years ago, the old Phandalin was a thriving human town whose people were firmly allied with the dwarves and gnomes of the Phandelver's Pact. However, the same orc horde that sacked the mines at Wave Echo Cave laid waste to the settlement, and Phandalin was abandoned for centuries.

In the last three or four years, hardy settlers from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep have begun the hard work of reclaiming the ruins of Phandalin. A bustling frontier settlement has grown up on the site of the old town, and is home now to farmers, woodcutters, fur traders, and prospectors drawn by stories of gold and platinum in the foothills of the Sword Mountains. Unfortunately, more than a few bandits and brigands have settled here as well, taking advantage of the fact that the area has no local lord or authority to chase them off. A gang known as the Redbrands has controlled Phandalin for the past two months, extorting and bullying everyone in town. The gang is led by a mysterious figure known to the townsfolk as Glasstaff.

Currently:

The rutted track emerges from a wooded hillside, and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin. The town consists of forty or fifty simple log buildings, some built on old fieldstone foundations. More old ruins—crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars—surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in centuries past. Most of the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs toward a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town.

As you approach, you see children playing on the town green and townsfolk tending to chores or running errands at shops. Many people look up as you approach, but all return to their business as you go by.

The half-orc couldn't help but stare around in awe at the crumbling ruins. So much history, all underneath their feet! He murmured a low encouragement to the horses, before glancing back at the group. "So!" he called out, a massive grin plastered on his face. "Where to?"

The urge to climb out of the carriage and browse the stores and their wares was tugging at his stomach, and he tapped his foot impatiently.

~~ Sazen ~~

Sazen also looked around curiously, fiddling with his staff.
His leg was bouncing up and down rapidly, betraying his excitement, even though his face stayed neutral.
Like this, he seemed younger, his personality closer to his actual age.

"How many humans do you think are here?", he asked the others.

The elf, however, was less enthused. She reserved the instinct to pull up the hook of her dark cloak and said, "Barthen's Provisions," to Aru's question. She didn't reply to Sazen immediately. "A lot, if I'd wager." She glanced at him as if suddenly realizing he was indeed the only human in the group. Vyl shook her head. "I wonder if anyone knows where that place is."

Basil stared directly at one of the shops, it had a merchant selling cool-looking items. They were drawing him in, but he'd need to wait. "We should ask around." He stretched, completely awake as his eyes scanned the shops excitedly. He pulled out a pouch full of currency, counting if he could manage to buy some rations. 'Maybe if I steal and sell some stuff to the black-market...' He thought to himself sarcastically before putting the pouch back into his satchel. At some point he had dropped a valuable-looking dagger, however, he failed to notice it fell.

At hearing Vyl's answer, Sazen grimaced a bit.
"I hope not", he muttered in deep speech, hoping the others wouldn't understand him.
He didn't want to open that can of worms this early in their quest.
Turning to Aru, he asked:
"Well then, how much further until we are there?"
Then he adressed Basil, containing his own excitement.
"We can do that after we find a place to stay, if that's alright with you."

Aru smiled at Vyl in gratitude, nodding slightly to Basil. "I'd be willing to help ask around," he offered, but he couldn't help thinking to exploring the town a bit. The very thought made him giddy. At Sazen's question, Aru clicked his tongue and shrugged dramatically, glancing over his shoulder at the human. "To be completely honest," he admitted brightly, not at all bashful. "I have no idea."

He never learned how to count, and certainly didn't know distances.

The elf, as they drew closer to the townsfolk, dropped back, letting the others get in front of her. She then walked beside the horses, and she lifted a hand to stroke one of their manes, murmuring to them in Druidic. It gave save whinny, nudging her hand with its nose. The druid gave a soft smile. She glanced down as something glittered on the ground. Vyl's thief instincts strained, and she, with a soft glance around, bent over, took it and slipped the dagger into her bag.

Who's dagger was it? She didn't care. It was a nice dagger anyway. . .maybe she'd keep it.

He kept an eye out for anything he might want to purchase later, when he looked back at the others he did hear Vyl slip something into her bag, but ignored it. Basil kept walking while watching for the place they were supposed to go.. this town was nice but it felt a bit off. He brushed it off and guessed it was due to the fact that this town is.. old, It's sure to have weird energy.

"Are you guys sure this is the right town?" He asked, actually sounding concerned for once but quickly acting like his voice didn't go squeaky..
