Karlie could've sworn that just hearing that made the spinning worse. "James, what the hell are you talking about? Y-Your reputation here is fine, and I'm gonna stay with a friend so that you don't have to be around me. . Don't leave because of this." His expression was saddened, but he knew there was nothing he could do. "Don't leave . . me." He mumbled, breaking eye contact and looking down at his hands, which were clenched into fists.
He'll be better off without you. . You have to let him go. He's right and you know it.
He suddenly snapped back to reality when he felt tears running down his cheeks again. This wasn't his choice to make, and Karlie knew that. "I-I'm sorry." He muttered, knowing it wasn't exactly a good time for a mental breakdown. ". . You're really leaving.?"

James felt his heart break as Karlie nearly broke down. He felt his throat tighten a little and he swallowed, feeling his eyes burning. "I-I am...i'm sorry..b-but its for the best....everyone knows that..." He said feeling his voice crack. Don't break down right now..."I-I love you Karlie..so much it hurts...b-but, we aren't good for each other. "

Karlie couldn't tell if James meant it in that way, but what he did know is that he needed to say it. . Before it was too late. ". . I know, and I'm sorry I couldn't be what you needed." He was still looking at the ground, but looked up to say this next part. "I love you, Jamie. Not as a friend." He paused, smiling weakly. "I don't care if it's selfish to say it now, because I think it's something you need to hear. If you're ever in a bad headspace again, just remember that I'm here. There's someone on this earth that loves you, no matter how shitty he was when you were still in contact." He tried to smile, but it fell flat. "Then I guess this. . is goodbye." He took a step forward, placing a gentle kiss on James' forehead before backing away.

James's bottom lip shook a little as he closed his eyes tightly, tears falling down his face. He moved forward and wrapped his arms tightly around Karlie, burying his head into his chest. His body shook a little as he cried silently. He didn't say a word at first he just stood there.

Karlie hadn't been expecting that, but he couldn't make himself turn away. He wrapped his arms around James for the final time, not noticing that he'd started crying as well. His hands ran up and down James' back, and he pressed their foreheads together. It had just become a habit by now, and it was tearing Karlie apart inside to know that this would be the last time he'd ever get to do this.

James closed his eyes tightly. He finally spoke his voice breaking. "I-if you ever need me...just call.. Ok?" He said. He didn't want this to be the last time he hugged Karlie but he knew deep down...this was it. He didn't want it to end like this he wanted to share a life with Karlie. "I-I'll come back. I promise....I just need..to get my life together.."

Karlie smiled a bit, closing his eyes. ". . I won't." He promised, knowing that if he ever did call, it would tear him apart inside. "This isn't goodbye. . This is just see you later." He paused, putting his hands over James' eyes and backing up, making sure James' couldn't see. "Get in there, or you'll miss your flight." He moved behind James, still keeping his eyes covered. "Do me a favor.? Don't turn around when you get in there." He finally moved his hands from James' eyes, nudging him forwards. Karlie didn't want him to turn around. He wanted James to move on and have a life. . One that didn't involve him and his problems. At the very least, he wanted James' last memory of him to show him smiling, which is why he'd covered James' eyes in the first place.

James looked down, feeling the tears fall down his face..."Goodbye... Karlie" Was the quiet reply James said as he finally started walking. He walked slowly, feeling his whole body break as he walked towards the airport. This would be one of the greatest mistakes of his life...he would find Karlie again even if it was in 30 years...he would find the man who helped him realizes...he was actually needed in this world.

Karlie felt the room start spinning, but he wouldn't let himself pass out. If he did, he knew James would come back, and he refused to hold him back anymore. As he watched James go, he was screaming internally. In the end, though, he knew this was for the best. Once James was inside, he got in the car and pulled out his phone, dialing in a sadly familiar number.

"Hello? Karlie? Why're you calling?"
"Hey, I need to do something stupid." Karlie responded, ignoring the original question.
"Are you drunk?"
"No, not at all. I-I'm going back to Korea. . Come with me?" He asked, his hands shaking.
"Karlie. . You know that's not a good ide-"
"Please, Caleb. The semester is almost over, and then I'm leaving. We can go study abroad together, and we can. . give us another try." Karlie sighed, knowing he had no feelings for Caleb.
"You love James, Karlie."
"No. . I don't." He responded, trying to convince himself to just let go.
". . . Okay. I'll go with you."
