Ketra of The Rising Sun

The sun peaked above the trees allowing its first glows of light to filter through its branches and cast its orange glow on the land even as the shadows shifted along the terrain. The gentle breeze made her open her gaze from where she sat on a pile of stone outside of her assigned healer cave. It was small; just large enough to house herself a few others if need be. Modest but it was a comforting sort of cave for her. The scent of herbs from the earth and something akin to flowers that she often picked in the warmer seasons was a familiar presence that clouded her senses. Ketra sat on those rocks every morning to be able to catch the first glimpse of the sun rising through the trees. Nothing truly beats a beautiful sunrise for sure. She did not dare look in the direction of where the sun did not touch; the Moon's Ray pack's territory. They were always a foreboding presence beyond the Rising Sun's borders but as of yet they had not made a move; not this season yet.

Allowing her body to finally rise the ginger she-wolf; colored like the first rays of a sunrise rose to her small paws and allowed herself to stretch; hearing the cracks and pops of her bones from her unmoving posture that she had for many hours waiting for that magical moment. Movement from the corner of her pale ice eyes made the Sunblessed turn her head to watch as the familiar pack member moved into view. Ketra blinked a moment before a small smile graced her jaws.

"Good morning." she called in a soft melodic voice as she hopped from her nest of rocks and padded closer "How'd you sleep?"

Zircane of The Moon's Ray

He hated it. The brightness. Someone who grew up in the dark and raveled in the shadows. Unlike the Sun Risers, the wolves of Moon's Ray preferred the life of darkness and everything that came with it. His body knew it was morning and thus he kept his irritated tail inside the deepest part of the cave. Most wolves of his pack would either be sleeping or like himself hiding in the darkness until the light faded and the moon rose to allow their reign of the forest. It wasn't that Moon Rays didn't walk in the sunlight but it was very very irritating to do so; most just avoided the morning hours and some may brave the outside world when the sun started to cast low in the horizon to allow the shadows to take over.

Zircane felt the presence of his pack more than his eyes that were closed would have sensed them. Shifting in the inky darkness made his hetero-colored eyes peek open. One eye was black; making it that much easier to stare into the darkness while the other was pure crystal white which was offsetting the balance of the darkness that was his pelt. That singular eyes shone in the ever-meager light.

He blinked looking into the darkness and grumbled out a soft "What's gotten you so agitated? Go back to sleep or something. The sun won't be down for several hours yet." he closed his eyes once more to resume his attempt to return to slumber but the shifting in the dark made his eyes reopen and he stared at the inky figure.

It made it harder to tell for those not accustomed to the dark caves to make out who was who like most of the Moon's Ray members were of dark pelts. But even if his eyes did not work by whatever means didn't mean his nose didn't. The familiar scent of his pack mate and the sour tinge of agitation was slowly grating on his nerves. Rising to his paws slowly he took a breath.

"Wanna spar?" he offered quietly waiting for the reply. There was no point in beating around the bush. If neither of them could sleep they shouldn't sit around being idle.

Warbler's breath turned shallow, as she crouched through the grasslands, all living of it celebrating the sunrise, which brought joy to her pack, and, well, any animal. The Sunray lifts her muzzle, heating it up by the tender light ray. The weather was amazing for a morning hunt.

Warbler's stealth always let her get a critter for meal. And, well, maybe a little help for the Lightcatchers can do well, the Sunray thought, as she crawls in the clear field in hopes for prey. Jackpot! Warbler's black nose caught a delicate scent, which leads her to a vole desperately digging in the ground, for.. something. Warbler never needed to know, as she quickly and painlessly ended the little one's short life right here. Opening her jaws and carrying the prey to the usual "camp" of her pack, this start of the day forces Warbler to smile, as after some thoughts the female just puts the fresh carcass into a food pile, noticing Ketra, the Sunblessed herbalist of the pack arise from her den with a smile.

"It's an amazing sunrise, Ketra!"

Warbler responds softly, tilting her head and letting her pelt warm up..

"How did you do, last n-... dawn?"

A pair of bloodthirsty eyes lit up in the complete darkness with a fade glow. A slight spot of light found itself in the den, as a large, scarred paw straightened the thick vines absolutely covering the cave's entrance, not letting a single sunray get in. Leaves of a sleeping nest rustled, as a massive, dark body settled up. Storm preferred to be alone in the daytime, nobody ever saw her in these hours, but the Moonray still preferred a high spot of dominance in her den just incase. Her hind leg lazily lifts to itch.

A growl rumbled in Storm's dark throat, as the female comes out in the deep shadow, gazing around arrogantly and cursing daytime in her mind. She watches the mossy cover just as she had in her own cave move in a larger cave. They awoke. Congratulations, finally. Storm herself stayed up the whole night and the smaller half of the day, despite being nocturnal. She backed off in despise of a dim light. The shadow shortened, as the female literally roars and dashes off back to her den.

Ketra of The Rising Sun

The gentle glow of cream and white-colored fur shone almost white in the strength of the light of the sunrise. The other had been out early it seems. Ketra must have been far too busy staring up into the sky for the first streaks of pink that she hadn't realized when the leader of their humble pack had disappeared for her morning hunt. It was sort of a ritual to hunt during dawn. The Sunblessed was just thankful the other returned safely; she prayed that Warbler wouldn't stray too far towards the mountains when hunting. The sun glow healer didn't go hunting; it was not her task but even she herself made sure to not stray far from the comforts of home when in search of herbs for her stashes. Moon Rays didn't go out during the day but even so, the mountainside and its casted shadow always made the gentle heart quiver with trepidation whenever she thought of that place.

Hearing her leader's gentle reply made her pale eyes return to her familiar face and she dipped her head in return. "Oh absolutely! I feel this day will bring many blessings!" she replied in soft cheerfulness. Ketra always seemed to have a soft tone that often got overlooked when speaking in a crowd unless someone directly asked for her opinion. But when it was just the pair of them a loud voice was never needed.

"How did I fair? Not too badly. It didn't stay up late so I got decent sleep." she replied tilting her head to look over at the fresh-kill pile. "I see you were successful this morning; that is good! The others will be rising here shortly no doubt." she laughed softly before turning those pale orbs back to her pack mate.

"How did you fair? Are you having trouble sleeping?" she asked her brows furrowing in concern studying the latter with a more clinical eye.

Zircane of The Moon's Rays

What a little nutcase that one was. Storm was always considered a loose cannon in his eyes; the dusky black male didn't understand the need for such aggression first thing in the morning when all others wanted was to sleep and rest to gain their energy for the rising of the moon. Zircane didn't particularly like the moonray because she was always so unpredictable and feral. He preferred the method of being rational in his temper instead of pushing full force with the temper that the young one possessed. His offer to the agitated she-wolf went deflected with such savagery as if she could not comprehend his words.

He blinked across at her silently watching and when she screamed at him without words he did not flinch. It was sad how used to such behavior with his pack that he endured. Grumbling under his breath he resettled his larger frame back down on the ground as she left to go back to her tunnel that she claimed her own. It was nice living in the mountains that had tunnels branching out like roots of a tree within the hardened walls of the rock mountain that they claimed home. Like an ant's nest with pockets all around up and down the mountain and even a hole inside where rainwater would slip through and pool to create a water source within that branched out into the rivers beyond their darkness.

"So troublesome." Zircane hummed closing his mismatched eyes once more. He would not run after his pack mates as if he craved the interaction. Most of the pack members were all such versatile creatures that thought to use their savagery more than their brains; perhaps that's why the fresh-kill pile was always filled with mangled carcasses.

At the thought of food the black and grey male heaved a sigh and rose; heading through a black hole off to the side to follow the tunnel where the pile of food was kept; he had forgone dinner before resting; something he often forgot about in favor of something else.

POTRS POV

Floral Crystal stumbles upon her clumsy paws. She glances at the Sunray and Sunblessed talking. Her nose let in the fresh scent of herbs Ketra always gave out. Flowers! Grass! All of that! Pretty, one word! Floral Crystal laughs. Where was she heading, in the first point. She shook her colorful fur, glass eyes dashing around trying to find a purpose of heading towards a lone tree. Floral smiled to herself awkwardly to her own excuse. The apprentice straightens her multi-flowered crown, digging in the ground randomly. For what? Uh...

POTMR POV

The Shade's cunning eyes Aim at Zircane. Why was he, and all of his despised packmates were forced to sit in this dumpster, while Storm wandered freely everywhere and everytime? Dimmed Lights growled. Maliciously, he pulls Zircane's tail for reaction and interaction.

In a dark cave, sunlight began to shine through. An adolescent got up in the den of unmoving wolves. Her blue eyes squinted as they adjusted to the sunlight. She looked around the dark cave at the other wolves resting. There was a diverse range of ages in this den; older adolescents, about to become adults, to newly-weaned pups. The female let out a yawn as she got up and padded to the entrance. She peered outside, to see if anyone was awake. She was met with a nearly-deserted camp, and silence, with the exception of a few Rising Sun wolves howling far away. After a few moments of observing, she went back to her original sleeping place and laid down, trying her best to fall asleep.

Dimmed Light switches his position swiftly, who knows what the Darkbringer might do to him. He tilted his head, looking at Iris who took a peek out. The Shade followed what she did just in curiousity, blinded by the light of the morning. He growls, shaking off and deciding to never do that again. Okay, if the Moonray said to stay inside and don't shove out a paw that must be the right decision! Distant raven cawing. Dimmed Light sighs, gazing around.

Zircane of Moon's Ray

His head shot up from where he had been nosing at the food pile for something that didn't look like a half mangled road kill. The slight tinge of uncomfortably in his rear end made his black and white eyes turn to look over his shoulder. Seems he wasn't alone after all. That tug did not do much to the older wolf who was far used to the poison of pain that licked his veins during fights. A half chortle left his maw as his bemused look crossed over to look at Dimmed Lights. The Shade wasn't more than an adolescent not yet educated in ways of true battle. So he humored the other male and turned around seeing the other had quickly left his tail alone in favor of not getting hit; smart boy. If Zircane was anyone else the shade would have gotten some good bites into him. But the black and grey male was patient if anything. Eyes following where Dimmed Lights was looking and spotted Iris.

"Fancy here or something?" he asked mildly as a way of joking. "She's pretty if your into that kind of thing." he shrugged. Oh how he did enjoy giving the youngsters some grief when it came to wandering eyes.

"Iris!" his voice boomed a little bit louder than it normally did. "How bout you come join Dimmed and I for some breakfast?" he offered.

Dimmed Lights remained silent at Zircane's words. HisΒ  bright eyes with thin pupils dashed around. He wasn't hungry.. after all. Atleast, it seemed like that to him. The Shade was overly curious and again took a peek out of the den, this time it's his luck that he wasn't instantly hit by a fresh light-laser. He steps out of the cave, raising his tail, and at the sight of Storm's paw sticking out, he swiftly backs off, breathing heavily. The Moonray seemed really intimidating to him, as Dimmed Lights settled down and began staring down at his paws pointlessly. A large moth perched on one of his paws, and the suddenness forced the male to jump away and hit the nearby rock wall. Ugh, these bugs!
