Telling Kiernan how his father viewed Kesal wasn't important. To him, they were best described in short as cockroaches. Disgusting insects that you'd find in the filthiest of places with crude inner workings, however vastly adaptable. That's what granted the Sun King's respect for his opponent, that despite the power he'd brought down upon those people they still managed to fight back and adapt to their situation. Their willpower and persistence was admirable yet put an obstacle in his way. Ori's father had to think outside the box to solve this stalemate and he was glad that Kesal was complying so easily. Whatever plans he had, Ori wouldn't know or ponder the worst from his maker.

His initial decision on the offer was quickly reconsidered when he didn't think solely about himself. There was an image he had to keep up, for the sake of his people and father. The Sunling dismissed the prince's hand, giving him a cold shoulder as he rose to his feet. "As long as I am consistently productive in some form, no one from my court shall fret." He said, which was his way of agreeing. Outwardly expressing fondness, wants or desires was foreign to Ori. He'd never asked for much, if anything at all. He didn't want to be needy, the court of Regnum Caelorum had already given him so much such as life.

The whole wedding deal had admittedly slipped his mind while they were chatting. Would they get any say in the event details? Kiernan didn't seem much of the type to be involved in such things. He did wonder how a blend of the two traditions would go. In Regnum Caelorum, weddings required a blessing from the court member who oversaw such matters, or the King himself since he was held in the highest regard. The cost was up to the common people getting married. Ori didn't know how marriages involving a court member would go though, since it hadn't happened in his lifetime nor was it knowledge recorded, had it not happened before? "While the topic of the wedding is being mentioned, we should at least decide who ventures from home first. Of course, there's always the simplicity of a coin flip." He spoke again before another pause for silence could befall them again.

Keiran's brow twitched a bit at the sudden coldness he felt from the other but he did not allow the disappointment to show through as he dropped his hand while the other rose from the table. The elven prince hoped that perhaps he allowed a glimpse in a crack of Ori's defenses if only a glance but it seemed the other was far too trained in his traditions and the iron fist of his father that he was as dutiful as ever. Breathing in to calm himself the prince allowed his hands to clasp behind his back and straightened his spine as if to appear taller while allowing a cool complexion to take over his expression. He gave a brief nod at the other's statement of activities and briefly wondered whether he should push his luck by taking the other princeling out for a ride into the fields to view the land that he would soon be staying in or rather allow him a sense of comfort and solace by showing him the libraries Kieran had mentioned before.

He did not wish for things to be so cold between them but the treaty and marriage affair were delicate; best not to unleash either side's wrath by doing something stupid to try to extend an olive branch - at least not yet. So the elven general pursed his lips together and gave a tight smile. "Of course, I'm sure we can find you something to occupy your time with if you are getting tired of my presence," he added with a one-shoulder shrug.

As Keiran turned from the table to lead the way away from prying ears and eyes he paused when the other spoke up. A slight chill laced down his spine when he'd asked about the wedding. Like a bucket of cold water rushing down over his head - he could pretend it didn't matter as much as it truly did and he could pretend that this was just a social experiment but in fact being face to face with the truth was as big of a deal as facing a war which would definitely be the outcome if this didn't turn out as both sides hoped.

"I would like to say that both of us would have a say in the matter; that we merely have to talk it out and decide on the best course of action. Unfortunately, princeling, I'm afraid we may not have that options. In truth, it matters not whichever one of us goes to the others first. It'll happen regardless for both of our turns to come so might as well get it over with as soon as possible. " he blinked thoughtfully to himself before turning towards the sunling. "I am not a selfish beast as many will say. If you need more time before being thrown into another's world I would be more than happy to volunteer to take my turn visiting your kingdom first. Although, now to think about it that's probably what you're king wants since it was he who came up with this...idea." he stated through a tight clench teethed smile.

Spark-less golden eyes gave a pointed look to the other prince, one that was not all that impressed by his assumption. Meeting new people was mentally stimulating for him, especially someone his own age and not from his homeland. Sage and a rare few had fit that bill, or as close as possible. The mage didn't share Ori's proper disposition and yearning to be everything at once. He couldn't keep up with his unhealthy almost obsessive goal-seeking. A human body would simply fall apart mentally and physically with the strain of Ori's ambitions, the rumours doubting his mortality weren't surprising.

He took a step to follow after him, but paused upon noting the tension in Keiran's form. He wouldn't condescendingly assume that he wasn't familiar with a coin flip, Kesal seemed to be a functioning society with its own technology and social advancements.

"There's no quarrels with me taking the first step, I'm more curious than fearful of your homeland." Ori managed to express a little bit of his enthusiasm to experience the enemy's territory. The coiling tightness of his smile didn't put him off either, more-so causing him to eye him once again. "Freedoms and leisures are surely what all desire. Small decisions still fall under those categories, it shan't be taken for granted." The Sunling told him, although it could be taken as a warning too. He didn't have an issue with a lack of freedom, his father's expectations for him took priority over that.

He couldn't quite make the other princeling out. Kieran thought perhaps he'd seen a sense of vulnerability earlier and that perhaps they'd get along but then the next moment as if he forgot himself Ori would turn right back around. Two could play that game but it would surely get nowhere and although Keiren was a man of patience and a long life full of time as Elvens did not age very quickly and could live up to hundreds of years - Kieran knew he did not have the time to play such games because it wasn't just himself and Ori that were playing it; they were simply the chess pieces to a much bigger game that their fathers played among themselves; it made him agitated to think about so ignoring the look of disapproval from the other shot his way the dark-haired male gave a curt nod.

"In that case, let's go out. I'm tired of being so wary of my own court people and other officials. My home should never be stifling as much as it is. If you are so inclined to see more of Kesal then taking a ride into our lands should help you get a feel of our culture. It's... much different than that of the castle." he grumbled stepping forward again.

Of course, he did not mean it as an insult that Ori and his people were here merely stating the fact that the tension within the walls of the castle was getting under his skin. He didn't seem as comfortable within his own walls and that was a bad thing. So instead, he took charge and led the way from the dining hall in favor of heading toward the stables.

"I can assume you know how to ride a horse, Prince?" he asked almost in a teasing way as he shot him a look over his shoulder. "If not, I'm sure I can find you one of our more docile creatures." he chuckled under his breath. He could find Ori an errand horse if his horse in mind was otherwise unavailable.

There was little of his own thoughts to voice about the war and current state of affairs. Did he want peace for both sides? For Caelorum Regnum to come out on top m? For an alliance to be former? His opinion on it all was an enigma. Knowing people were most likely dying on both sides didn't phase him, only the wrath of his father losing would draw forth emotions. Alert, startled, fearful, like last time except that'd all been an accident and no one's fault. Or so him and King Solar had decided to believe.

He took no offence to Kieran's words, he was right. The wrong kind of person in this environment and they'd crumble under the pressure. Court members and officials had to hold themselves up, they were a reflection on their kingdom and ruler too. He walked somewhat behind the taller being with no problem.

The teasing tone went over Ori's head the equine he'd seen the previous day. By the way Kieran spoke it seemed that horses were a primary mode of transportation. "I can ride, in a way." He didn't notice that his words could be taken as an innuendo, continuing his words. Winged creatures are more familiar to my senses, stables aren't just for horses."

Keiran paused at a large brick and glass building that look much like a sloping manor in its glory but inside was filled with the smells and sounds of the animals they kept within. The elven prince pushed aside one of the gliding doors and stared down a large and long corridor were on either side rested dozens of stalls where the familiar equines poked their heads out to peer at them while others nickered in greetings. As soon as his blue eyes fell on the familiar sight he seemed to relax a margin. He strode inside with purpose trusting that the sunling would follow suit.

"This place is what we call The Dome. It has three tiered levels. The bottom one is where we keep the horses that our soldiers use. Whether for patrolling, errands boys, or war horses." Kieran's voice was soft and calm as he walked down the long isle absently petting the velvety noses of the horses who were curious enough to reach out to sniff at them; a few even being cheeky by trying to nip at his sleeve and yank which he absently dodged with a soft swat to their noses as if he had done it a million times before.

"The second level is where our more unique creatures are. Kesel is filled with creatures that are not of the mortal world. We have a few Pegesus and offspring of theirs up there along with others that are more kin to deer than anything else." Keiran led the way up a spiraling staircase at the back of the room to the second level where even more stalls were but these were different. While the bottom level was akin to normal stables the second level was decorated to specific to the creature's natural habitat with some flowers and vines; a few potted plants and wind chimes decorated ornately in the ceiling. In the stalls within there were horses with horns and wings of all shapes and colors. But it was a stall to the far back that Kieran led Ori to. It was bigger than the others and within it, a restless creature stirred.

It looked like any ordinary stag but its fur instead of brown or cream was actually green with the texture of moss with vines entwined in an impressive set of horns. A small horn only a few inches long jutted from its dark brown nose and its tail was much like a horse's which was braided with vines and little flowers that seemingly sprouted from nowhere. "We found him injured while I was on patrol a few weeks prior so I took him in to recuperate him before letting him go again, but his healing is slow." Keiran leaned his arms on the edge of the stall door watching the majestic creature.

"He's one a rarity even for Kesal since his kind is hunted down for their horns and blood which contain magical properties wizards and warlocks use in potions and spells." he reached out to allow the forest stag to sniff at his palm before resting his nose into the man's palm. "It took me a lot just to gain his trust to do even this." he chuckled under his breath but there was fondness in his voice as his features softened as he met the stag's warm brown ones.

"Kesal is naturally known for it's beautiful forests and landscapes filled with rolling hills. We aren't like Light Elves but we do enjoy nature. We share a border with the Light elves and sometimes some of their creatures wander into our lands such like this big guy here." The elven prince sighed softly as he rested his chin on his folded arms a moment before he straightened up as if realizing he was wasting time.

"My apologies. We were here to find you a mount not sight see our stock of treasures." he laughed almost sheepishly as he turned to leave despite him wishing to stay longer. Keiran did not often express it but he had such a love for animals; often finding their company better over those of his own people sometimes as they did not judge him or wish to use him as a pawn. If he had his way he would permanently find a place in the mountains and become a ranger; surrounded by no one's company but those of the creatures who found peace in his presence and the open lands.

He made sure his strides matched Kieran's in order to keep up with him. There were beautiful horses in the stalls, although who was Ori to determine if something was good looking or not? His dazed eyes often didn't see beauty, instead seeing the world around him as the known and unknown. The known was familiar, maybe he'd read about it in a book before. The unknown was what drew his attention. Something new to learn about. Equine could potentially pique his interest but he already knew everything he could about them. Their breeds, usefulness, how to take care of them, it was already knowledge within his grasp. These were common creatures across most lands.

The most attention he's give to the hoofed animals was a side glance, stepping past before they could get a good sniff of his light hair.

On the second floor was a scene a little more familiar to him, as if beginning to enter his realm of shared understanding between his court and himself. These were the kinds of beings who shouldn't be claimed or owned by anyone, or so Ori had been told. It was an understandable mindset. A human could live three lifetimes before laying eyes on a winged horse or horned one. They'd probably kill the creature the first chance they got too, unicorns were highly sought after in domains with black markets.

Ori's foot steps were soft as he drew near, as if he didn't want to disturb the mossy creature. Its name felt like it was on the tip of his tongue but it escaped him. Either due to being so close to such a majestic stag or because he was processing having a real life experience finally. He knew exactly who would know all the answers to his questions, a court member with a heavy affliction with nature and all its dangerous beauties.

The other prince's softening demeanour didn't go completely unnoticed. Someone who treated other creatures kindly was a good sign. It wasn't something that Ori had learnt, it was something he felf in his gut. Animals usually couldn't converse or have the same understanding to be considered 'intelligent beings' by most. Not taking advantage of a 'lesser being' was common decency but it was one of the clues as to who was a cruel person and who was a kind ons.

"I must express that caring for this creature will surely result in good returning to you, whether you are aware or not." He said, which was his way of telling him that he'd have good karma for doing a good thing. He had little opinion on animals. They were livestock, companions, useful for daily life. Others couldn't be considered animals since they deserved respect from people. It was difficult to explain, a Regnum Caelorum mindset.

He wasn't sure what he had expected the reaction to be. Keiran kept a corner eye on the other as they traveled through. If his intention was to impress the other Keiran did not do a good job at it on the first floor. Was he expecting anything different on the other? His infatuation of the forest stag did not come with many words nor did Ori say anything to express much of what he was feeling; surprisingly something the elf did not mind. It was as if words did not mean much when it came to being near the creature. But he had allowed a part of him shine through the princely demeanor whether by choice or subconscious and Ori picked up on it.

His words as short as they were brought Keiran's attention to the other and a furrow etched itself on his brow. "I don't care about that." he stated firmly. "I don't want recognition or anything for this. What's the point of doing something humane and good for another whether be creature or mortal if you get rewarded for it?" he scoffed a bit and turned his attention back to the stag.

"I'm not my father. I don't want gold or recognition for doing something human and showing a heart, sungling. Not many people care in this time and age. They seek glory and to make a name for themselves; to take what this earth has given so selflessly and all they do is return in kind the population and the death of earth's generosity." he muttered irritatingly under his breath. "Nature isn't preserved enough. Even the gold, the raw materials, and the gems we get from the earth are never returned. The mana of this world and the magic energy that we use on a daily basis is never enough for people nowadays. To drain something without refilling it just asks for chaos and disaster to strike. It's a circle of life not a lot of people are willing to preserve. To take means to give back and no one gives back - that is why I do not want anything in return whether good karma or gold..or recognition. I am simply trying to do what is right and return the favor our world has given us; to replenish what was stolen and never returned. We owe it to our worlds to do that without the heart yearning for something in return. We have taken too much already - I do not want the universe to give anything in return." he took a breath and straightened up. Scrubbing a hand down his face as if tired but instead turned his attention to the other and forced a small smile.

"We haven't finished the tour though. We still have one more level to check out. That's where I keep Payndais. She is a creature of my kin's homelands up in the mountains beyond in the border." he added turning away from the stag in favor of the stairs. "She is my personal mount. Creatures like her are spiritual animals who form bonds with their riders and do not trust easily but when they choose you it is for life. She chose me when I was a foolish elfing trying to prove my worth to my father. I had gone out hunting with my father and his friends for a yearly hunt but instead of grabbing a stag or a boar of some kind to return with I broke away from the party in favor of going up this mountain, we were camping at the base of thinking that if I could just kill one of these creatures to bring back to my father he would accept me. Little did I know instead of bringing down a kill from a successful hunt my young life would change forever." Keiran murmured as he walked up the stairs and to a large door he paused to look over at Ori with a slight smile on his face.

"She's an intelligent creature and does not like strangers. But she knows intelligence when she sees it. So tread lightly around her until she shows her acceptance of you. Do not draw near without her sign of approval." he warned before he opened the door to lead them inside and was quick to close it behind them with a soft click

It was dark inside; the top of the dome was made of class but resembled the starlight sky with a twin moon. Inside was filled with a rock mountain-like decoration with vines and trees at the bottom; it was rather cold up here enough to see your own breath when you breathed out and there was the chirping of some kind of bird that echoed in the dome space. It was silent and seemingly empty at first. Keiran carefully walked inside and beckoned Ori beside him. He was looking around a moment before looking up. A careful gaze scanned the darkness above them. He opened his mouth and a familiar chirp escaped his throat. Once without reply, twice without a reply, but on the third, a clicking sound was returned and a rustling of something moving in the darkness above their heads.

"Don't move," Keiran whispered gripping Ori's arm lightly in warning as a large shape shifted somewhere above them while it made itself down the rocky decor like a slinking panther in the dark. The brush stirred in front of them and a pair of gold eyes gleamed at them a moment before a body emerged.

It was an odd creature; easily the side of a shire horse with its body sleek and streamline. Its bottom half resembled an equine with feet tapered down into large feline paws instead of hooves and instead of hair the creature possessed scales as dark as obsidian gleaming in the moonlight and instead of a horse head it tapered off into elegant dragonic features paired with gleaming fans like silver hanging on either side of its bottom jaw not the ancient saber tooth and jutting from it's shoulder blades were two leathery dragonic wings that spread out like a hawk would in a warning and to look bigger. the silvery spines from its head down its back gleamed threateningly in the light - flashing upward as the creature lashed its feline like tail that spiked at the ends with barbs and a low hiss sounded.

"These are called Doaldreontas. It's very ancient to our lands. They resemble a mixture of draconic, equine, and feline features but are very intelligent and powerful." Keiran murmured before lowering his head and half of his body into a gracious bow to show respect to the abyssal creature who's yellow orbs never left the sunling.
