Kieran could admire his dedication to his people but the elf only imagined that perhaps it was more out of duty that he stayed put in the kingdom like some loyal lap dog instead of following what he truly wanted to do. Of course, he could have been completely wrong about Ori's intention when it came to his own freedom. It was something Kieran wanted to help Ori realize that it was okay to pull his rank a bit and go do things he wanted instead of just awaiting orders. His blue eyes narrowed thoughtfully on the other and he idly rubbed at his jaw as he thought about his words.

"But what kind of knowledge will one be able to achieve if you don't go out there to experience it first hand? You can only learn so much out of scrolls and books. Words on pages can paint a picture but the aesthetic of actually experiencing that picture is so much better." he commented shrugging "But i do understand in some aspects of what you say but...I suppose someone who usually has free reign to do as they please the prospect of a tight leash isn't something that I can comprehend or deal with readily."

The elf leaned back heavily in his chair and took a sip of his drink with a hint of worry on his face. "Tell me though, if by whatever means I might have accidentally overstepped a boundary while over in your kingdom will they actually try to like...kill me or something like that for punishment regardless of what contract we may have for our kingdoms? Like, how strict of rules do you guys have?" it was bugging him ever since the comment was made about hands being chopped off or death upon him if he stepped out of line. He wasn't going to purposefully check to see how far he could go but he wanted to be ready in case something happened that he hadn't intended and he was put into a tight spot

Ori eyed Kieran as he voiced a thought he'd also had but didn't express. The most interesting part of the kingdom he hailed from was probably the court, people perceived and worshipped like gods. It seemed like they could do anything, even live forever. He wanted to see and experience more but he worried that he was being greedy in some way. The Sun king was ambitious, Ori just had to meet his expectations.

"The contract should keep you safe. People will have a difference in opinion over missteps. With due respect, you're a foreigner and therefore shouldn't be expected to know or follow all our customs. Some court members want to abolish or implement certain laws. A story of an example will have to be postponed for another time." He replied, not worried about the enemy prince too much. He couldn't fully grantee his safety, but he could grantee that he himself would try to keep him safe. As far as using his vocabulary and influence would go.

Ori finished his food quick and easily, he hadn't picked much in the first place. "Kesal doesn't pose a threat to my life either?" He asked.

Seeing as Ori seemed a little more open to talking Keiran could just make out the other relaxing a fraction as he spoke. Although, formal as he still talked the elf prince was keen to see that at least he was a little freer with his opinion; the pale prince was getting concerned that all the questions would make the other either shut down completely or just give him answers that were a mirror of the man's father instead of his own.

"That's...an encouraging thought. I honestly was expecting things to be a little harsher than what you said but perhaps it's a little different from what you say when I'll eventually go there to see for myself." his brows creased thoughtfully as he lounged back in his hair staring at the displays on the table seemingly lost in thought. "It's good though, to hear that others within the realm do not seem to have a hive mind that follows only the King. No offense, of course, I mean you guys have culture and rules and such but if there is one thing that irks me greatly is the lack of free speech and even more free will to have opinions spoken and heard. Still, I'll do well to remember to keep my head about me so as not to test just how much free will your people have so I don't lose my head from my shoulders" Kieran cleared his throat and turned his pale eyes over to the sun prince cocking his head as he studied him.

The mention of Kesal made the prince's lips curl slightly into a smile. He loved his home very much even if the one ruling it was a cold and distant man. A kingdom is nothing without its people and unlike Kieran's father, the prince himself was well accustomed to the ways of the people. He had often gone to the village to spend time there; and even if he was not one who had power or the crown to rule next in line for if it came to it Kieran knew the people of his kingdom would have his back. He always hated how little his brother focused on the people themselves than on the rule and customs of a king like their father. He knew Rhys would try to be fair to the kingdom when in rule but without the knowledge of the fruits of labor and the sympathy of the people from what they had endured Kieran thought his brother will soon turn into their father; that was one of his fears.

At the question, he jolted a bit and turned his focus back to the other prince realizing that he hadn't answered and his smile was a little more apologetic. "No, unlike your people, Kesal is free...outside of the kingdom gates, people are happy, well as happy as they can be, and would welcome you with open arms. Much like Regnum, we seek knowledge so they would be curious. The only thing you'd need to worry about is the...people within the walls that have eyes and ears everywhere that directly inform my father of the go-ons. We do not have customs that if you accidentally touch or say something out of turn that you'd be punished; you'd only get a rebuke if anything but punishments are only given to those who deserve it...or if father is in a particular foul mood that day." he shrugged lightly and gave a reassuring look.

"I think you'll like Kesal. Besides judging stares and whispers behind your back we are not actually as bad as your father makes us out to be. Not within our own kingdom at least." he took a sip of his drink and hummed lightly. "We have many libraries within the castle themselves; we have one in every wing pretty much for guests but the real interesting reads are the one by my chambers. You're more than welcome to go and check them out during your stay. And we have some art you can check out too. I noticed your interest earlier in the halls on the artistry hanging there."

Listening to the other prince's words, it didn't seem like outsiders understood at all. He didn't make a comment about it, since he could just show him when the time came. Treating the Court of his kingdom like Gods was a majority opinion and he knew little to nothing about the skeptical minority. They were considered 'non-believers' but not traitors. Everyone somewhat expected there to be a mutual understanding that the Sun King and those around him were naturally above mortal beings.

He wasn't sure how to respond to the short moment of silence he received, but he waited either way. Solar had spoken little of Kesal, seeing their whole kingdom as another obstacle to get through. He said his crusade was in the peoples' best interest, to provide for them in the way he was meant to. Every Court member had a job, Sage was to oversee all magic use and Ori's was to learn.

The mentions of text to read and artistry to view drew his attention. He'd spoken briefly about taking in information to be a bit of a hobby, had he been outwardly showing interest to the subjects without realising? Probably. "It's only natural to take a glance towards such ancient cravings. Things that have come before shouldn't go unnoticed." He attempted to brush it aside, but he was still excited to visit. It made him forget that the pair of them would potentially be betrothed.

Kieran glanced over at the younger princeling and tilted his head watching with an air of seeking as tried to piece together the other man's words. Kesal and Regnum were very much the opposite as fire and ice or sun and the moon but even someone like Kieran could understand that in every aspect of nature and of this world there will always have something that brings balance to it's existence. A ying and yang effect if anything. He wished to keep an open mind and hope for the best between their arrangement. If they did not love each other that was fine by him but at the least he wished for an understanding between them so that they could find common ground when it came to the knowledge of each other's kingdoms and hopefully benefit from the other's homelands. As Ori's father had commented Kieran hoped that he was not extending an olive branch just for it to catch fire and burn to ash.

He wiped his mouth one last time after draining his cup before rising to his feet and extending a hand in a gentlemanly fashion with a brief smile. "You are more than welcome to come to see for yourself now if you'd like or we may wait until a later date if you have places you need to be. I am aware that you would be leaving soon so but if we do not get to the fun bits of this visit I'd hope that when it is my turn to have you as a guest that you will make use of the time you have." he offered

Glancing at the surroundings to make sure others were not listening in he flashed the younger princeling a slight smile. "There is a lot of fun things to do here that are not involving knowledge of the books if you prefer trying new things. But I'd understand if you are needed elsewhere. A thing you must know about me if we are to be wed is that I am active in all aspects of my day. There is always new things to learn and if there is not there are always things that can be improved." he added thoughtfully.

"You're choice of course, I would like wish for you to feel cornered or pressured to do something you do not wish; after all we already have our wedding planned out without consent enough as it is." he sighed

Kieran would not openly say that he enjoyed Ori's company but the younger male was not half bad even if a bit naive to the world and closed off. He blamed that on his upbringing and the cultural differences. But if the elven prince needed some sort of push to shove he'd stick his neck out for him if anything. He was not without honor but while they were not wed yet and their arrangement in limbo he'd at least try to make Ori consider the ways of his people and break from his shell a bit.
