Combo/ New Tier Breeding Mechanics

I think this is a great idea! It would balance out the current craze for rare NBWs, and make both T1s and wolves with longer lineages more desirable. It would really help the economy, and I think it would be a super fun breeding challenge!

I'm all for Combo bases, as it helps a lot with certain bases both of lower and higher tier being valuable and generally wanted, looking at Tier2 Yellow poor thing lmao

However, I disagree with not allowing them in the chase pool, the biggest thing about combos (least in my experience in LD) is that they were pretty damn rare, either being only accessible via an AppxApp or certain weather conditions or heck even certain IRL times so more or less they were always valuable, even then the chances of getting one were pretty low (I specifically remember how the most common combo at LEAST took some time to get and wasn't an instant thing) The chase pool allows everyone to have a piece of the pie and allows Newbies or less active players to get said pie without having to spend hours, days, weeks trying to get it, even then when one combo becomes more common they can just make a combo for that combo and so forth, I'd rather let people play RNG twice rather than one and done

I genuinely think we just got the short end of the stick, regarding T3s we've been so dry of content that we had to make it ourselves by hosting massive T3 chases, and then yall see how that went lmao, remember not all T3s got into the chase pool, we just bred so many of them, I don't remember the exact chances of a T3xT3 but we're able to have up to 6 puppies per litter so that's a lot of rolls

Note: Didn't know where to throw this but aaaa, another thing to note is that T3s can be made with any base, meanwhile combos would need 2 very specific bases, so take that as you will

I feel like it's not breed only if you can find it as a G1 and the whole point of rare things is to work hard like how people still have to grind or work hard or to spend money to get gc to obtain lunar event stuff whether from other players or from the event themeselves specials are very limited pool yet they are too becoming very common for some, I feel like not allowing them in the chase pool would allow use to actually have a breed only and add more breeding in-depth we rely too much on finding the perfect chase and not enough on lineages now so I feel like allowing them in the chase pool would defeat the purpose of having a breed only base. Obviously pass rates would not be exactly the same as lioden but why does every fancy base we get we need to be able to get it on a Fancy G1?
Chased was never that hyped on lioden when I was on so I feel like we should treat the mechanic very differently on here I feel like if we can't have a breed only base as  breed only I think the wolf lead lv to find chased wolves need to be changed a little otherwise lineage will never mean anything if it's only about the g1 hype for fancy wolves I would just like actually labels to mean what they are like breed only markings but ooo nvm they can be rma if your rich enough. What we need are things that are actually breed only and stay that way or all we are is just a G1 hype game.

I would argue that Trading/Raffles/Auctions are quite a large part of wolvden's gameplay, at least, for enough users that it is an important topic. While I don't think it is any fault of the devs or team, the state of the wolvden economy is kind of... rough; the emphasis on the value of NBWs and TIIIs and T*s is disappointing at best and rather draining at worst. I do worry that a lot of new players may be turned off by the constant chase for rarity, and frustrated at how slowly they seem to progress in comparison to everyone else. Based on how things are now, new players seem to be at a disadvantage that has been intensified by the challenge of, y'know, just starting out. The challenge could be fun for a while, or maybe they get lucky, but I'm concerned that it would grow very old very fast before they have the chance to check out all wolvden has to offer.

That's... a lot of words to say: T4s sound like a good idea, and I think that, if they were implemented, they could really breath some life in the gameplay of wolvden, for new and old players alike :D (Plus... more pretty bases... <33)

I would like to add, though, that I hope something similar to lioden's "this many times inbred" feature gets implemented before too many other breeding mechanics are added. Since a lot of players decide against inbreeding their wolves, I think/(hope) having a calculator on the lineage page would really help with the whole "NBW/Gen 1" craze (and also prevent the very likely "Gen 2 T4" craze that may follow a combo base drop)

There are already similar bases in Lioden (I don't remember the exact tier/rarity/etc. It's been ages since I've been knowledgeable about LD breeding) where you have to have specific bases to breed a new base. (And of course, it's not guaranteed you'll get that base, but it's the only way to even have a chance for it)
For example: (had to refer to the wiki for names)
Cinnabar x Onyx or Jet or Obsidian = Black Rose
So one parent HAD to be Cinnabar, and the other could be either Onyx, Jet, or Obsidian. This combination gave the possibility for a Black Rose Base which is unobtainable any other way.

I don't think it would be outlandish to add similar mechanics to WD - and though I, like Hadus, don't know much about coding - I think giving them a tier of their own might be nice!
If that's too complex, or if WD devs are hard-set on T1, T2, T3, T* being the only tiers (and I could understand, or else there might one day be MANY tiers), then maybe making the combo bases T1 or T2. They'll be easier to pass onto offspring, but could give pups more interesting color options.

I also think that adding combo bases will give players more projects to work towards! And of course, as others mentioned, give more love to T1 and T2 wolves. It DOES get a little old seeing pretty much every stud be a T3 or T* lol

I see both pros and cons to them not being added to the Chase Pool, so I will not weigh in support/no support on that.

I must say this is an amazing idea! Mostly the wipe-out-of-game when chased, because that will prevent from them into the current condition of T3s anytime later. Though that will be bugged A LOT and I don't know how the frick to implement that in sake of coding. I'm excited and I wish this actually gets implementedz
There can be also a mechanic that raffle studs would have a higher possibility to pop out T4 bases from pairing to another base that.. does in the combo. Example:
Auburn Raffle Stud + Snow Female = + 10% chance for a combo baby

Although my brain hurts imagining how to code that lol

Why not also include very rare.. Trio T4? Not combo.

Let me explain.

Combo T4s are inherited from the parents' bases. Example Snow x Auburn results in a combo, the grandparents and stuff don't take place in here.

About trio T4s, the parents would give their bases to the supposed-to-be combo (Snow x Auburn yes exampling it again cause I'm lazy) and there's a chance one of the parents' parents takes place here and gives their base to the Trio T4 aswell.

Mother's Father.                  Mother's Mother
                                    +
      Brass T1.                              Snow T1

                                    =

                                Mother:                              Father:
                                                            +
                              Snow T1                            Auburn T2

                                                            =
                                                        Trio T4 (Brass x Snow x Auburn)

That'd be complicated but yes lol

It's a very interesting idea and make lineages lines more important then just the parents being important
Curious how well that could be implemented

Support.
It would make t1s far easier to stud and sell.
I'd also be interested in exactly how it would change prices.
