Intersex Wolves

Intersex Wolves

Okay so... I have a friend who plays the game and hes intersex, he was afraid to create the topic himself so im doing this for him.
Please do NOT make homo/transphobic comments on this thread.

What I think should be added: Intersex wolves!

What does intersex mean? Intersex is a general term used for a variety of situations in which a person is born with reproductive anatomy that doesn't fit the boxes of "female" or "male." Sometimes doctors do surgeries on intersex babies and children to make their bodies fit binary ideas of "male" or "female".

How would this work?: So, in real life, (in humans) about 0.05% to 1.7% of our population is intersex, so I understand if you never heard of it before. But my suggestion is we add it to the game being a small rare chance of your wolf being intersex! You will not be able to sex change the wolves until they are an adolecent

The downside of intersex wolves: Low fertility, chances of not being able to breed at all during life time

Pros of intersex wolves: Bringing more awareness to the community, and even supporting intersex players.

Other info: This would not be a "mutation". A intersex wolf can be sex changed to male or female BUT you cannot change the sex of a F/M wolf to intersex. Say theirs a 0.5% chance of a intersex wolf being born and a slightly higher chance of a intersex x intersex wolf?

And for the information, yes animals CAN be intersex.

Please let me know if you support or don't support and why I would love to hear! Or even suggestion add-ons to it!

Strong support from me. Intersexuality is a thing that happens in every animal kingdom and if it supports our intersex friends and helps them to feel included, seen, heard, and important, then I think neglecting them would be a mistake.

I'm on the fence about this. I agree that it's good for representation and your proposal makes sense, but from a gameplay perspective having a wolf you need to sex change to breed or with lower fert (which may need a pasque flower to increase fertility) will cost currency. Especially for newer players, this may be a problem if they don't have SC/GC stored or don't have the ability to reliably make it yet. For me, with the amounts of currency I have (aka not a ton but a comfortable amount), I think this idea is great and feasible for me. But it might not be economically feasible for someone else.

Is that a reason to not include intersex wolves in the game? I don't know. But it's something to consider.

This wasn't mentioned in Plagg's post but I thought I'd mention it anyways to clarify. If this idea is implemented, I am 100% against being able to "assign sex at birth" like how doctors do surgeries on, as Plagg mentioned, babies and children. The wolf would be sex changeable like a normal wolf, but the player would NOT have that option at the puppy's birth.

Strong support! I'm not intersex myself but i see the clear need for representation in all forms of media, including wolvden :)

Oh no, sorry to hear your teachers are giving you trouble!

As for the adol thing, i like it. Its before their first heat so its not wasted if you want to make them female, and its not at brith like the surgeries you mentioned.

I agree with Xeva. I don't think a surgery like that would be good to give a puppy in any case, fictional or representative (as it sort of sends the message that resex assignment/genital mutilation is okay for human children too? I shrug). For this reason I would also like to state that 1) Plagg didn't request for the puppies to be changeable, and 2) I don't think puppies can have sex reassignments anyway until they grow up, so I thought it would be assumed, but in case we have to say it... We're not asking for that, Wolvden!

I also think it should be a dice roll as to whether an intersex wolf has good or low fertility, also. I went to school with an amazing intersex person who is a happy father (he birthed his babe and had few complications), but I'm aware that this isn't always the case.

I *also* think it would be really flipping cool to see gender neutral pronouns used by some wolves by default-

If the feature was implemented the way Plagg described, currency cost would be a minor problem compared to how much an intersex wolf would be worth when selling due to carrying a rare attribute.
