I completely agree. I understand banning the 'games' where it WOULD technically spam the chats, but regular giveaways with ping to claim were pretty non-invasive and straight forward. I also firmly hate the idea of multiple people personally messaging me for just one wolf, it's super uncomfortable. I felt like the giveaways were a solid way for this rather small community to bond and get tighter-knit, I gave away dozens of T3s to both new and experienced players just because it was nice, easy, fast, built camaraderie, and was a generally good way to get rid of wolves I didn't need.
I don't even try to give away T3s anymore. It's too much of a hassle thanks to the new giveaway system.

I definitely agree. I personally find sending someone a PM rather uncomfortable - with chat, it's more of a spur of a moment decision for me, both parties are happy, all sorted with a single ping and thanks.

Writing a PM feels for me like I'm begging for something, also have to put together the whole message around the "hey, I want it", because I just feel... Anxious and like crap, saying just that. I've stopped giving away a lot of wolves/items I would usually just offer in chat.

Giveaway chat should work the same way as it worked in general chat - allow pings, maybe even the quick games, because who would bother with making the thread for a quick ping game? Just make a rule that normal chatter should be held in general chat, mods can moderate it so there's not a lot of out of topic chatter.

^^ this, it feels so invasive to PM someone even if they're giving away things, and it clutters inboxes

I don't really even bother looking at other people's giveaways anymore because the wolf I want could already be spoken for by someone who DM'ed before me. Plus i don't particularly enjoy private messaging to ask for things in general. I post my giveaway wolves but get far less response now with the new setup because I'm guessing other people have similar hangups over the DM only rule.

Please allow pings. Much much support for this.

My adoption center (which is a huge reason I play wolvden) is not getting any responses compared to before giveaway chat was introduced.

i know that i already supported but this is really starting to gett annoying cuz I posted a t3 giveaway and got several PMS though out the day I had to be like sorry it was taken like 100 times and to say I'm pi*sed is an understatement

I am the type of person that doesn't like doing things redundantly.
When the giveaways were in main chat, I could see if someone claimed the advertised pup (If they were doing one at a time), and then make a decision if I wanted them or not. FOr dens, I often didn't bother looking because I didn't want to try to claim a pup that was already taken by another, as it felt like a hassle to the owner.

Now, in giveaway chat, I don't know if someone has already PMd to claim said pup(s), so I'm much less likely to even look at the chat itself, let alone the giveaways posted by the owners.

Being able to see pings benefits not only the owners who don't have to make more work by replying to late-comers, but benefits people like me who don't like to find a pup, set their hearts on it, only to find its been taken when they didnt realize it already.

fully support! i don't want to bother giving things away anymore because getting DM's is just all around stressful and triggers my anxiety. i hate telling people they missed out, and being able to ping to claim makes it easy for other people to see the item(s) have already been claimed. nobody has to be disappointed if the claiming is 'public' and visible to other people.

Fully agree! It sucks either missing out on wolves, or having to many people trying to claim a wolf that was already given away. Also forum giveaways drive me nuts, as I feel like alot of threads giving away wolves never get much spotlight. Giveaway chat has always seemed the faster way of getting rid of wolves, but also the most complicated
