A Leader's Questions...

She paused, licking at her nose once more before continuing to speak, "She taught me that relationships with your pack are everything. Through disease, through torment, through sorrowful losses; we stick together. We take care of each other, we tend to each other, we bring each other love and care through every moment in our short lives." A pause, "Our lives are too short to dwell on what is right and what is wrong. Lightfall always made sure I knew how to take care of everyone and I still do try. Even now with my own little ones and my own mate, Theodore, we try our hardest to keep the pack in balance. Making sure everyone has a place and everyone has a part to play within it." She blinks towards Shuichi, her head laying down onto her paws. "Though it is interesting how you keep your pack together. Rituals are not something I myself dwell in, but my own Veles and his pack friends, Eleanora and Luus all enjoy a little ritual. I've heard rituals bring them great joy and I am happy they help your pack stay united as one." She gives you a soft smile and raises her head towards another wolf, resting her head on her paws as she speaks. "Loss is a time for mourning, a time where we all must stick together and take care of each other. In my pack, we takes 7 moons to grieve them. To remember them as how they are and to secure our young remember them and cherish them as we are all family. How does your pack deal with loss?" |

"Once upon a time, we may have indulged in shared grief and ceremonies for the dead, but that is no longer the case." Tingståd looks away as he says this matter-of-factly, betraying no trace of sympathy. "Many of my kin have died due to war, famine and disease. It does not do to stop and reminisce over each and every death - better to redirect such emotions towards vengeance, when possible. Besides, I do not permit the coddling of weaklings in my pack." He scoffs. Suddenly, he is thoughtful, bowing his head to look at the ground before him. "That is only half the truth, however... Ancestral worship is an important part of my pack's culture. Of course, only the greats are remembered, not the common rabble. They guide us from the stars. In fact, I wouldn't even be a king if my ancestors were of no importance. It is the will of the dead which directs the fate of the living. They are everything to us. To me." Tingståd stands and stretches, yawning as if bored or tired, though in truth he is only trying to break his tension. The subject matter of the last question made him somewhat uneasy. He looks to the nearest wolf and stares intently, but his twitching snoot betrayed his repressed excitement and curiosity: "I speak to you directly, Leader. What is your greatest pride and joy? Your own achievements? Your pack's? Your mate's or family's?" //// @Liddos you write so beautifully omg I even got emotional ![]() ![]() |

She offers the feather to another leader resting nearby. "Do you decorate your packmates? Take them interesting places, put feathers in their fur?" |

"I feel like the best answer would be that my packmates decorate themselves through the stories woven throughout their lives. A vast majority of my pack comes from the chunk broken off from my last, the ones who agreed to follow me to a greater good. They've all earned their places, one way or another. For example -- one of my greatest hunters, Irori, will likely never get the stained blood out of her fur, but her and her wife both wear it proudly. On the other hand, one of my greatest pupsitters, Kareki, collects scars around her ankles without a gripe, showing just how much she loves those young souls." "In a more literal sense, though," she then gestured to both herself and her mate, a faint grin pulling at her lips, "we all have our own personal decorations. Jewelry, paint, feathers, flowers -- they all reveal little things about each packmate, if you pay close enough attention, and that's what I love the most about accessories." She then crossed her paws and looked to the other side, taking a few seconds to gaze at the next leader with consideration. "How did your pack become one? What really drew you all together? Internal conflict, natural disasters... or maybe something as simple as finding loved ones while out on your own?" |

He was barely a pup when his pack came together. He tried to remember the best he could. "Most of my pack's founders were wolfdogs who had recently escaped from a breeding facility, with help from a lone wolf named pepper." He paused, thinking of his deceased mentor fondly "She helped them learn how to survive in the wild, and over time, they grew closer to one another. Pepper took the role of leader, vowing to protect her pack until the very end. And protect us she did, She risked her life saving me from a flood that destroyed our previous territory. Ever since then, we've been Living in a pine forest not far from there." His eyes were wistful, the memories of the past clouded his mind. He gave her a warm smile, then trotted off towards another wolf. "Hello, I'm WrenStar, it's a pleasure to meet you." He introduced himself calmly. After a short moment of hesitation, he asked his question. "How do you usually name your wolves, Is there a specific system your pack uses? Do you tend to name them after their appearance, or personality?" He tilted his head slightly, his white and rust colored fur seeming to glow like moonlight. |
