Nellie and Inuk’s private RP 🦋🌲

Inuk quickly gave Hawke a look. "Once you meet them, I'm sure you'll come to see their friendliness. But I want you to know something. They harbour a creature we would not usually come to interact with, but under no circumstances are you to show aggression to her, as it will certainly cause us trouble. You'll understand once I explain what this pack's way of life is all about.. but right now, just don't go anywhere." Inuk said firmly. With a firm nod in response, Hawke looked intrigued and prepared as she stared at her mother.

Coco perched her head  and ears. Howl? She huffed, and saw the wolf that fought Minra approach the entrance. As a greeting, she bowed her head, but.. There was someone else there! In the headbow, she jumped straight up, spreading her legs and snarling, baring her teeth in a growl. Who was that? Why was that *thing* here? No one had any right to know where the den was, did it follow the familiar wolf?!
It couldn't have followed Flutter's trail, that one was only for Inuk.... So where'd it come from??
There was a good reason Coco was so protective, with all the weird things happening and a literal whole hunting party going missing, but they didn't need to know that. No one needed to know *that*. Not according to her. Of course she wasn't the boss here, unlike Minra she knew that, and she did like being the leader of the hunting party and bossing wolves around, but that was it, it was just that... as long as Blue or Nellie or Danté wouldn't say anything, neither would she. That was it, that was not her place. But this was, and by gosh she would protect her den!! ....Or well, as the culture called it, it wasn't really HER den, but it was her home, so it kind of was her den. So yeah. She'd protect it! Her home!
The wolves in the Fighter Cave were a little more stoic, and it seemed there were a lot of wolves in the Fighter Cave. Unlike maybe other packs, and certainly Blue, this pack seemed a little more stoic, without words, and more focused on body language, and spiritual energy and messages.
But Coco digressed, and jumped in front of Inuk. She didn't wan't what happened with Minra to repeat, and have that THING get her another cut! Or with Heather! So she defensively jumped in front of Inuk, instincively starting to ice bear (is that  a thing in the English language, in Dutch if you are ''ice bearing'' you are walking back and forth in a line, for example you go >>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<< It is commonly done whilst thinking and I think it was called that way after a literal ice bear, cuz I went to the zoo once and the ice bear was doing exactly that just strolling back and forth LOL) back and forth in front of Hawke's mother. But of course she didn't know that. It seemed this pack was also, whilst closer to spirituality, further away from social cues and normal wolf behavior, language, cues... hints.... sensing that this was Inuk's literal daughter.... Yeah.

(Lmfao okay that whole story and commentary was amazing Oml, that's really funny, poor Inuk is like damn bruh I missed my family I just wanted my child lmao, but yeah definitely Blue's pack goes off more by spiritual and unusual means rather than the all known social cues of wolves. It's very interesting for the story. )

Inuk could see a wolf just up ahead, seemingly guarding the entrances to the home burrows. It made much sense, so many events as of late.. and so much to lose in such a vulnerable state, it'd make sense for them to be wary and not exactly trusting.
As Inuk approached the guard, she could see they had recognized it was her. Thank goodness, and she was even more pleased to see they had bowed their head, in immediate response, Inuk lowered her head as well and have a warm bow to the wolf, but as she did so, she could see the wolf's posture change. Ah yes.. of course, they had spotted my daughter, and Inuk knew not to bring her up abruptly. She gestured for Hawke to stay put as she went to greet the wolf upfront, but she didn't have a chance before they came racing up and jumped in front of her, and Inuk didn't react with any sort of quick growl. In fact, she gestured for Hawke to sit down. And so she did, but Hawke didn't display any kind of submission, as she was to regal to do so. But she did head her mother's word. "It's alright! They are no enemy!" Inuk bowed her head and went to stand beside the she wolf. "She's my daughter, I've brought her along with me incase Blue or the others needed some extra help, and to have another pack member here with me." Inuk gave a reassuring smile. "If you'd wish to have us wait for Dantigo, we can do so, but I promise I will always be friend rather than foe." And so Inuk sat beside Hawke as she looked graciously at the she-guard.

Coco had now stopped as Hawke sat down; What was that THING doing?? What was it? A wolf, like a normal wolf? One of those... one of those... it sat down... why'd it... For a moment, something weird happened as the wolf whined, and shook her head furiously. No! She won't let it lure her!! Never again... would she lead...
But as that moment passed, she let out a deep growl, from within her throat, one that sounded like it even hurt her throat, and she slowly raised her head, her eyes standing wild. Something was.... off here.
But she still stood in front of Inuk, her paws wide in a protective stand. No one, NO ONE would pass through her if they wanted to get to the appearantly new maybe-ally. Coco's chest rose and sunk fast as she panted and growled. She wasn't reacting on Hawke not submitting, rather than she was just reacting on a weird face, a stranger.
And Coco refused to submit as well. But she'd change her mind;
As Inuk spoke, Coco looked over her shoulder suprisedly. ....Daughter? She'd had pups... in the past... hadn't she? She whined, shaking her head. These memories... She knew nothing for sure anymore...
But something surprising happened; *Coco* was the one that submitted, laying down with a prompt thump on her belly to the ground, and she'd stop showing aggression. Yeah, sure, they could pass, made sense. She liked having her hunting party around too, after all. So yeah, sure, pass no problem. But as Hawke would pass, she'd still not show any sign of aggression rather than just sigh... Where were her pups now? Were they well taken care of? Did she even ever have any pups? She gazed off into the distance, hurt in her eyes. She'd forgotten all about her playful 'pretend guard'....
(I just got an idea LOL so yeah prepare for sadness I guess)

(Awwww poor coco :( the whole puppy sacrifice thing during the coigreach event was really interesting, but Inuk's pack didn't have to give up some of their own, nor did they lose any pups during the event, as they hadn't had any that season, Inuk went out to find a willing mother, and gave her runts to Bronagh)

As Inuk watched as Coco stood still defensive, she kept calm as to await the realization that no threat was present, and as she watched her expression change rapidly, she looked as though she was going through a monologue of memories and thoughts, trying to choose the best thing to say or do..and Inuk began to examine her.. and she wondered what she was thinking. But as this silent conversation went on, the she-wolf suddenly dropped to the ground in active submission, and performed a short ceremony of allowance into the dens of sort. And Inuk walked up and bowed her head once more. "Thank you my friend" she'd say. Hawke almost looked confused with the sudden change of demeanour, the small explanations her mother gave her begun to make sense, this pack wasn't like many she'd met or dealt with, infact it seemed to work completely different. Hawke only stared for a moment trying to figure out what to do next besides follow behind her mother. As she passed the stranger, she nodded her head slightly in acknowledgement, but kept it up high to signal her strength, but it was more of a self respect act rather than an arrogant one. Besides, she stayed closely behind her mother with a blank expression, observing everything around her. She hoped there would be no trouble.

(I had so much struggle. I actually read spoilers and at the moment it seemed like the best choice, but man I miss them even tho they were already up for adoption, but I still think about those. I have a theory that if you gave up your pups (and if you didn't of course) and there's gonna be a future coigreach event the pups appear again and Imma be scared they want revenge LOL)

Coco whined once again, not reacting on anything. She closed her eyes and started licking her paw. Where were they? Her pups? Where? Where were they? Coco put down her head in her paws, and squeezed her eyes shut. Normal wolves didn't cry out of emotion. She did. As the two females left, she cried without sound for her pups. She missed them... were they okay? She'd take good care of them.... well so would Coco!

As they got in the den tho, some wolves had looked up in confusion about Coco's demeanor. Theyd never really see their leader like this... She took good care of the Figher Cave, being the whole leader of those. She let them hunt, and they had to work hard, but once they met their quota, they were free to do whatever they wished. Parents would return to their pups and mates. Some took a nap. Others went to explore a little. She really did take good care of them, and the leaders had even given all the food to her rather than everyone, entrusting her with the food quota for their entire cave.
Danté was idly strolling along his den, not really doing anything, but when he noticed Inuk, he.... well he still didn't do anything. Just stopped, stared a little, and then vanished in one of the cave.
And then, he came out with Blue... And Nellie in the middle of the two of them, who didn't quite understand why she'd gotten out there. Or why Blue was back, really.

(That's a really good theory, especially since next coigreach I do predict we will see some of the missing wolves come back, like Maeve's mate Lownen, so having pups return as adults seeking some closure on why they were left would be hella interesting. And sad lol, maybe we will actually meet a Faeclu)

As Inuk gave a farewell to the now melancholic she wolf.. she gave a small nudge against Hawke's side, making sure she was still doing well. Once again Inuk held up the lead and walked with ears perked towards the circle of dens and caves. She sniffed the air and gazed for any sight of Blue, or Flutterfoot or the others, and she then spotted Dante pacing around the mouth of one den.
Inuk gave a concerned look, and he seemed to acknowledge her presence, than disappeared. She stood outside the entrance as Dante crawled back out with one more wolf, and the human girl. Blue! She thought, he was safe. She never doubted Flutterfoot's guidance, but she was relieved anyways to see the young leader alright, and she quickly walked up to greet him, with her daughter behind her. "Blue! I'm glad you made it home safe, Flutterfoot as well as I were worried sick when you ran off to follow some kind of- summon.."
she looked to Dante and Nellie, wandering if they'd already been told by Flutterfoot on what happened.
"I'd like to introduce my daughter Hawke. She's one of the strongest of the Salmonstones, and I wanted to be sure you all would be safe. Whatever thing you followed out there..Myself as well as Flutterfoot felt it was not something benevolent." "That's why I even returned to begin with" she bowed her head. "How are you feeling?, do you know what happened?"

As Nellie just walked out of the den, she finally noticed a familiar wolf. Oh was that- was that why Danté kinda pulled her out of the cave?
She walked towards the wolf, almost forgetting it was a near stranger and interacting with it as she'd do any wolf.
''Hey, you're back...'' She said, a little confused, but she knelt down and indeed treated Inuk like any other wolf; attempting to gently grab the wolf's face. But she realized at the last moment and awkwardly floated her hands next to Inuk's cheeks, then awkwardly pulling them back and rubbing them in her lap. ''Sorry,'' she said, ''force of habit I guess,'' she then smiled. For some reason, she felt like this wolf understood her language a little better, her verbal language. (Judging on the fact she knew how to translate cardboard box ^^) She then pointed at the cave, where Blue was still half in, next to Danté who came trotting over to the wolf. ''Blue's over there. You know the way. I think. If you don't Danté can lead you to it. It's the same cave we took Heather too, and all the ill fallen wolves. But she's awake, by the way, Heather is awake!''
And evidently, she pointed towards the herbalist, taking care of the herbs Flutter brought back, picking them up one by one and bringing them to a small pile. She had an idea... Why go out looking for herbs, if you could just grow them? She had the idea to make a little herb garden, and now there was just the theory; sorting out herbs, what could be planted, what could not be planted -after all you couldn't plant charcoal- and which one was safe to plant, which one was not? The burning leaves Flutter encountered and had told Heather about, for example, was NOT safe to plant. Imagine a poor pup running through it! But a dandelion... well, as long as they didn't eat it. Oh well, they taught the pups about herbs too and which one were safe to eat and not. But still, she had to be careful and pick out a place and some testing herbs. And then learn how to take care of them.
Nellie looked back and smiled at Inuk again, then gazing upon the other wolf and looking away quickly to avoid eye contact and be respectful, bowing her head and gaze to the ground next to her. She bit her lip, then gestured for Blue to come on over, encouraging him to come closer.
He was shy, but he did so after all.
''H...Hi....'' He said, as Inuk did her story, shyly introducing himself to Hawke, with only that one word. ''I...'m safe... I...I think... so? ...Followed.... out there? I... I don't know... I don't know what happened... one moment I was with you guys, and then I blinked, but it went black and dark a little longer than a blink, and then when the blink finished, I was here... in the den... and uh... and Nellie....'' He looked up at the human with big eyes.
Deep down tho, he felt something... and he might not know exactly what it was, but he did know.... It. It? It... whatever 'it' was.... but he was NOT gonna say that.
Though there was a deep feeling in his eyes...

(I would never be able to grow dandelions lmfao, as dumb as it sounds it's like the one plant I'm incredibly allergic too)

As Inuk's verbal worry and questions towards Blue were prevalent, she turned as Nellie came forward from the cave, looking a little confused as to her return. For good reason, she'd been sent off with a warm and heartfelt goodbye from everyone including the girl who had told her to look out for Blue. And she gazed at the girl before she could see her small little hands reaching up to her. She stood still, almost with a delayed flinch as she expected them to touch her fur before she didn't feel anything, and Nellie looked worried as she pulled them back. And as Nellie spoke something, Inuk looked to her and tried to make out her words. Was she coming to greet her like she'd seen with the other wolves? The- little motions all over their fur? Inuk thought of this as perhaps something all humans did as a greeting, from seeing her perform it.
Inuk simply looked to her and gave a small head tilt, and a nervous wolfy grin.
She watched as the girl pointed her arms and- long paw toe like things- fingers? towards one of the dens. Inuk only made the correlation because they reminded her of raccoon and squirrel like limbs, they called them arms and fingers, so that's what Inuk referred to them as.
Hawke still stood still behind her mother, and tried simply not to perform any sudden movements, from the warnings her mother gave her about the different creature they harboured. And there it stood, the human creature, the one who just reached out to her mother's face. Hawke couldn't help but recoil from watching the encounter, but she was certainly intrigued, and just trusted her mother knew what she was doing. After all, she'd been gone for days spending time with the other leaders as well as this one. She must've figured out something in the time she'd been gone.
Hawke just watched and than came up to stand beside Inuk, almost as though standing on subtle guard with her side pressed up against hers.
Inuk's ears perked as she could hear Nellie speak the words "Blue" and "Heather" with her pointing. That meant they were awake! And perhaps up and about. Inuk could see Nellie grin as Inuk looked back and forth. She bowed her head to the girl. Just than, she could she her gesture for him, and Blue came walking over. Inuk let the poor wolf answer her many worries. "Well I'm glad you're safe back here.. you sound as though it was almost like being in a coma or a dream. You don't remember the trip here?.." Inuk only thought more and more.. it almost sounded close to the luring lights that had occurred many days prior.. "it dosent sound like anything close to the kind of leading energy like Flutterfoot emits, so I want to rule that out.. you looked as though you were in a complete trance. You were looking one way and you never looked back." She exclaimed.
She didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.. afterall he mentioned he had simply woke up here. Maybe it wasn't the right time to try and figure it all out. She bowed her head to him. "We can look into it more later.. Is Heather feeling better?" Inuk looked over in the distance as the young herbalist looked as through she was organizing medicines and herbs."I'll happily lift a paw to her."
