NIB (aka "Clean") Breeding?

Posted 2020-09-26 19:31:03

I'd say I'm interested in doing it, was already considering it. If we had like a group dedicated to clean lined studs that would be more incentive to actually keep up with it. That can get pretty muddled once lineages start making their way around the game. I like to do generations as well, which turns out to be kinda rewarding! On Lioden I was several generations into a family tree that stemmed from the first king I got. I'd like to do the same here but keep the lines clean this time around. So, I'm in, is what I'm saying :P

I plan to do clean here just like lioden but inbreeding has more uses in wolvden as when your wolves have mutations or genes to carry mutations and two of the same mutations, or carrier of the same mutation must breed to produce more mutations. So insted of trying to find a completly different male you could just breed siblings who have the same carrier mutation to get more mutations.

I'm planning to limit my inbreeding to basically 0, but I hate the whole "clean" vs "dirty" thing. I get why it was used on LD, since the lions were "clean" of the big 4 in their heritages, but WD doesn't have a problem with popular studs (yet). Plus, using those terms implies that not inbreeding is somehow better, and the word doesn't describe the play style, especially for new players coming across the term :/

I'll be using non-inbred vs inbred, or NIB and IB for short. Way more self-explanatory, and no weird pseudo-moral implications for the players that choose to inbreed

You know, I like that idea for calling it something else. NIB and IB.

Yeah I don't think it's wrong to inbreed especially since this sim specifically doesn't give penalties for it. It's definitely not coming from a place of 'clean' vs 'dirty'.

I wish I could inbreed and get all those fancy markings without such a challenge, but I am way too particular about how my dynasty/lineage "looks"!  It happens in every game, sometimes to my demise.  Lol

I am going to not meet my end but I really need some pups but I might inbred which sucks. But I still will be a clean breeder lol

I agree with NIB and IB also I also care how my dynasty looks and prefer no repeating names and named lineage which is the inly reason I do not inbreed XD

I'll be making my wolves clean. On Lioden the writing i was doing wasn't directly hindered by inbreeding so I didn't really care enough to go out of my way not to do it but my lore here would get awfully problematic if i played that way so I'll be playing wolvden as a clean breeder. I have nothing against inbreeding in the game, I still do it on LD, I just don't want to deal with the writing implications with my current pack!

I'm going for no inbreeding too, but I'm going to have a separate group for muties to do some inbreeding there (for higher chance of muties), but ill have them separate and I'm going to work for non inbred muties, high stats, and pretty wolves
