NIB (aka "Clean") Breeding?

Posted 2020-10-22 20:31:35
Clean is commonly referred to as any wolf that has absolutely no inbred ancestors at all, so any wolf with those ancestors would always be considered IB (inbred) or "dirty." Trying to pass off a wolf as "clean" when they have inbred ancestors would be considered to be false advertising by people who try to breed clean/NIB.

You tell that to the players on LD who consider inbreeding 'Clean'

We are talking here about Wolvden breeding, so I'm not sure why a few people using incorrect terms on a different game would have an affect on this conversation? The original poster said that clean/NIB refers to no inbreeding, so obviously that is the "correct" definition for this discussion and what I am talking about. So, calling an inbred pup "clean" would certainly be false advertising.

Anyways, I intend to clean breed all of my wolves and would be interested in joining a clan later on if one is formed. It's a lot easier to start planning these things early on, since most of the wolves that exist right now have no heritage! I don't think there's anything wrong with inbreeding but I'd like to keep the main members of my pack non-inbred, both for lore and challenge purposes.

You can go to this page here if you're interested in joining a NIB clan. :) Since a clan function has not been set up yet in game, this thread is currently the next best thing.

I dont like inbreeding, sometimes its pretty weird to think about in wolves. But I AM NOT a clean breeder, I just kinda avoid inbreeding. And if one of my wolves is inbred, oh well. I mean, if they are I might not breed them. But if they have good marks and  a tier ll base. Then I might.

I'm not a clean breeder but I also avoid Inbreeding on sim games like Lioden/Wolvden.
However, if there are negative effects (not just mutations) to inbreeding I think I'll become a dirty breeder, just to see what monstrosities I can make.

inbreeding has no in-game effect, mutations or otherwise.

I meant, "if" as in if any are added in the future.
