Coigreach Caves

Hi all!  So I am at the point in the Coigreach event where I need to find caves.  I usually find them fairly regularly.  However since I got the request to find them, I have found none, across several energy bars.  Has anyone else seen the same thing?  Is there a biome I should be focusing on?

Do I just suddenly have really bad luck?

Side note, I really love the Coigreach event.  It's multifaceted, interesting, well researched, beautiful and at times heartrending.  Very engaging.

I've had the most luck finding caves in the swamp. I think I've only found a couple outside of there, but that may be because I was pretty focused on the swamp at the time. Since the request I've had the same problem, though, so maybe they're just more sparse overall for now?

I noticed that when they were first introduced, I would find one ever energy bar or every two. Over the past few days - I'd say 3 to 5 - I've noticed that they became even more sparse. I have since found ONE cave today. I think they were made to be rarer on purpose, but I'm starting to feel a little disheartened. I like to complete my quests the same day, and I doubt I'll get it done today. I might not even finish it tomorrow.

I believe that exploring at night time should get you the caves, you want the encounter with the yellow wisps which appear at night, from what I've experienced! Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong!

I tend to explore at night, and I've still noticed a steep drop in encounter rates.

I have been experiencing the exact same thing. I was finding them regularly before and now I have not seen them at all, all day.

I haven't encountered a single cave all day today. I thought it was some sort of problem with the coding of the event. Maybe I should just explore more at night.

Same here. I've only found two caves today while i would've found way more a day or two days ago. considering that everyone has same problems, I dont think its the bad luck.

There was my problem!  I didn't know I was supposed to find them only at night.  So thank you for that - I have now found one cave.  Which is way better than none.
