Once I started exploring only at night, I was able to find all five caves in just a few energy bars.  The frequency of finding them was normal, at least for me.

I was able to finish the quest in maybe 4 energy bars once I started searching at night. But I do feel like the frequency of caves popping up did rise after I finished.

I don't think the frequency changed, i think it was a combination of confirmation bias and some people not knowing they are only available at night.

Mmm. I'm still semi-convinced the encounter rate changed. For 2 days in a row, I explored exclusively at night and found only 4 caves. Though caves have become a tiny bit more common after I turned in my quest, they aren't nearly as common as they were.

My current running theory is that it was the change in season - and thus the change in the length of night - that made caves "rarer."

Has anyone else had an instance when choosing to follow the wisp to the caves where you couldn't keep up with the wisp? I've had it once.

I've had that happen to me about 30% of the time when I find a wisp encounter. Frustrating when trying to turn in a quest, to say the least!

Have you been exploring at night at all? Cause the caves are only available at night.
