Cedarwood Forest- Wolf Pack RP

Rue stood back and listened as the strangers chatted. She did her best not to judge, but something about Celeste's dreamy, far off look while describing this paradise was... unsettling. Can some place like that really exist? And why risk the journey, when there were suitable places like her homeland to settle?

She turned back to Akela and nodded at his explanation. it was unpleasant but it made sense. She admits to being a touch disappointed at the offer to travel being extended to the newer wolf first, but she supposes that there's no room to complain. Celeste had a destination in mind. They were going in the same direction. It was only reasonable that they travel together, but she wasn't quite willing to be left behind.

"Do you mind if I come along? It's a bit of a shame to leave when I've only just arrived, but if these lands are as dangerous as you say, then it might be better to leave with you instead of exploring on my own."

Celeste smiled. "Of course! I would be honored to travel with you both. After all, its better to travel in bigger teams in case of problems or...enemies." Celeste was about to say farmers, but thought better of it. She knew all of them had some resentment towards the humans, yet she didn't know whether to trust Rue yet.

“Yes, it’ll be best if we three travel together. Why don’t we leave now and try to put some distance between here and paradise before nightfall?”

Akela looked around at the forest, for what was likely to be the last time. Memories of playing with his brother beneath the tree shade in this exact location while his grandfather watched clouded his mind. Who would’ve thought this is what it would come to...

Rue did her best to school her expression. Akela mentioned "paradise" so casually. Does he really believe in it or is he merely placating Celeste? It is difficult to tell, but she determines it's best to ask him privately later. If there is a private anymore. "I'm good with moving now. I've had a fair breakfast. Have you?" She tilts her head. He seems distracted. "Akela?"

Arwain looked towards the wolves talking, stopping as she scented, then spotted, the two she-wolves and a he-wolf. Toddi made an almost silent whine at her heels, ears forward as he waited for Arwain to move. "Quiet now. We are intruding in their conversation." She hushed the pup, who opened his mouth to continue his long complaint of why they were moving. And quickly fell silent at his mother's glare. Flicking her tail slightly, retracing their steps to think of another route, Arwain came up short.

Celestial pricked her ears up, frowning. "Someone is here." She trotted towards the nearest bushes and growled. "Show yourselves, before I make you. And don't even think about running away. You won't make it."

“No, I haven’t eaten yet, but I’m fine for today,” Akela told Rue. Akela turned to see what Celests was talking about, but he couldn’t see any wolves.

“Looks like Cedarwood is quite busy today” Akela chuckled. “Don’t worry, you can come out!” Akela called out from behind Celeste.

Rue was more than a little startled by the tone Celeste took with the newcomer. She didn't see or scent anything yet, so for all she knew the other wolf was speaking to the air. But even if she wasn't, what did she have to be so threatening about? These weren't her woods, and she was a stranger and trespasser herself. Her fur laid a bit flatter at Akela's call in response. That seemed much more reasonable, and if he felt that someone was out there, it seemed a little more likely.

"We're not going to harm you, come out, please?"

Arwain stepped forward, ears and tail down. "Stay there." She had told Toddi but it was unlikely he'd listen. "I"m really very sorry, I was simply passing through and came across you talking. It wasn't intentional." She whined in apology, avoiding looking at the she-wolf with the harsh tone, instead looking towards the he-wolf, and second she-wolf.

Celeste knew she was ignoring her; she tended to be protective around those she favored. She flattened her ears. "Listen, I'm really sorry for approaching you like that." She smiled shyly, embarrassed. "I tend to get a little...overprotective."
