Cedarwood Forest- Wolf Pack RP

She nodded now. Trotting back under the tree, she watched as the sun lowered into the forest and the moon slowly rose. Meghein laid her head on her soft paws, her eyes fluttering till they were fully closed. The pup slowly drifted into her dreams, sleeping peacefully as the faint noise of crickets surrounded the area.

Akela waited as the stranger revealed herself. As the stranger and Celeste spoke, a small pup came out of the bushes as well. A pup? It had been quite a while since Akela had seen a puppy. 

“Hi there,” Akela greeted the pup. Just as Akela was about to introduce himself to the pup’s mother, Celeste began speaking to another pup. Celeste’s suggestion to rest now was a good idea, they had spent the day introducing themselves rather than walking. 

“We’ll leave just before sunrise,” Akela told the group. “That way we’ll be far from here when other wolves start travelling. Not all of them are as kind as you all have been.”

Akela walked up to the stranger mother. “Hello, I’m Akela. Where do you and your pup come from?” He asked. 

Rue could scarcely believe her luck in meeting so many wolves in one day. Though, she had to admit that things here were getting a bit...crowded. She had come all this way to adventure, but for now they were all standing around and chatting just like any wolves would in a den. She was content to stay quiet, though she waved her tail and nodded to Meghein and her pup. 

"It's a pleasure to meet you both." 

She didn't have much more to offer as Celeste and one of the newcomers went on again about this mysterious paradise. She was...skeptical. It was only when Akela chimed in that she snapped out of it and nodded. 

"That's a sound plan. And if anyone would like to food before resting, I am more than willing to hunt for them."

Celeste shrugged. "I'll hunt. Be right back." She trotted off into the woods, searching for prey. She stalked a small deer and leapt onto it, killing it with shock. She dragged it back to the others. "Not too big, but it should be enough. I'm not hungry, after all." That was a lie. Her stomach grumbled, but she decided to be kind.

"Oh." Arwain looked at Akela. "We used to live near the human lands but we heard of this paradise and..." She smiled, faintly and far away. "It was a better plan for myself and Toddi than living where we are. I'm Arwain, by the way." Her eyes flicked towards the new pup, wanting to go check on her. As Celeste returned with the deer, her attention was diverted yet again before returning to Akela. "And you? Where do you come from?"

Toddi stayed with Arwain for a few seconds, then went towards the other pup. He lay down, tail thumping softly but staying quiet as she slept. Soon, he too drifted off to sleep.

Meghein slowly woke up, her eyes were still sleepy. She got up and shook herself awake, now about to walk stopping to see another pup beside her. She tilted her head at the sleeping pup , her laying back down and stared at the blue sky. Meghein listened to the noise of chirping birds as she daydreamed.

Akela could see that Arwain seemed hungry. “I grew up here,” he answered. “You can go eat, I’m going to go for a walk.” Akela smiled and looked around at all the wolves. What had begun as a solo journey has turned into quite the adventure. Akela turned away from the group and walked into the forest. He wanted time alone to say goodbye to his home before they left in the morning.

The forest looked different at night. The trees seemed... taller. The trunk disappeared up into the night sky. Akela’s eyes could not see too far up the tree, as it looked as if the tree trunk simply vanished into darkness.

The world was quiet at night. Akela could hear mumbles from the group far behind him, but the forest seemed to swallow up the sound. He sat for a moment, enjoying the Cedarwood night air. 

After a few moments, he turned towards the group once again. He hadn’t wandered very far. As he came closer to the group, he decided to stay in the shadows to sleep. It was much more peaceful. 

Arwain glanced at Toddi, who was sleeping. She smiled and went to eat, quickly finishing and going back to Toddi and the new pup. Toddi half woke up, ears twitching at her approach but stayed sleeping and she lay next to him. The new pup seemed to be daydreaming so Arwain left her be, gazing out over the clearing.

Rue tilted her head as Celeste walked off. That wolf was incredibly strange. But it was fairly impressive that she managed to bring an entire deer back by herself. So she dipped her head in gratitude. Maybe she wasn't so bad after all. "Thank you for the meal, Celeste," she offered in as warm a tone as she can manage, with a wave of her tail. She approached the deer and with no one particularly hungry or interested in it, proceeded to eat the best parts of its belly. Sated, she too found a quiet corner to lay down and sleep.

Meghein slowly snapped out of it, looking at both of the wolves. The other pup was still asleep and decided to walk to the carcass. She took a small chunk of the deer , after eating the meat all was left was the bone. Meghein looked back at the other wolves seeming bored as she waited for the others. She now played and chewed on the bone.
